Have you guys tried cold showers yet? Hard to get used to at first but your hair becomes silkier and softer after a while. Also, I've read somewhere the heat in shower heads causes calcium deposits to build up on your scalp. That plus the number of minerals in the water you use to shower are also affecting your hair loss. I've also been taking the biotin gummies for a month and I haven't seen any progress yet. The effects are supposed to be 50/50 depending on who you are. I can still kinda see my scalp under super bright and focused lighting but I've been doing more high-intensity interval training (cardio) and I've seen minor improvements to the volume of my hair. That's my update for today.See y'alllater!!

That should be a interesting read for everyone here.In this big study regarding isotretinoin there is a section about hair loss and references for other induced accutanehair loss studies.

Ouuuuu yeah I just read about it. Definitely, something to look into! To be honest, I'm getting kind of tiresome of pills since they're what caused our hair loss in the first place anyways. I'll try to find some good reviews on it.

Hi Guys,

it is my first time to post online,

I am happy to find your conversation, but disappointed at the same time.

I am 42 female, I am out of accurate for 20 month, my story is totally similar to yours specially chicanery, 2 years ago I had extremely thick black hair and was veryyyy shiny, I had density and the strand itself was very thick.

the difference in my story that I am much elder, don't think that I have enjoyed my beautiful hair for awhile, when you get old you can't handle more damages due to any other factors, moreover your body/systems react to such bad medications much worse.

the sad part in my story that I never ever had acnes in my whole life and I had very nice complex and normal skin not oily, but 3 years ago I wented to a dr. To get off 3 small spots from sun above my lips -sounds so silly and stuiped- and recommended to have Fractional laser session which was the worst decision I ever made, 1 month after the session I stardted to get acnes which figured out that is a side effect nobody told u about which was supposed to last few days, in my case it lasted much longer but in fact it was less than mild acnes but as I used to have very clear skin that was driving me crazy and over 6 months another Dr. was trying to treat me by topical creams which did nothing, another dr. Adviced me To take Accutane, however my dr. Advised me to stay away of this medication because my case doesn't need such heavy bad medicine, I wish I listened, but I felt he doesn't take my case seriously.

to make it short, messed up my hair I lost more than 50% and getting worse, I am experiencing same things you do all new hairs are weak and very fine and thin don't know how I ll look like when All my old thick hair be replaced with the fine ones.

The front of my hair is the worst :(

Moreover messed up my face too,I am suffering from extremely dry irritated skin now because I never had oily skin to endure the medication dryness and I have same cycles you are talking about for my hair and my face every 10 days my skin starts to get vey dry with red  patches, every time I get exposed to sun or I workout and get my face sweat, my face sit on fire and spend like 10 days trying to cure it.

I am not that young, dry skin makes wrinkles worse I spent a fortune on face creams and topical hair lose treatments.

Because of Accutane I have craced heels, visible bad veins in my hands, very dry eyes, dry noise, very sensitive teeth, sensitive irritated face and thinning my face skin specially around eyes, can't put makeup or concellars Anymore :( , it ruined my life

tried vitamins, all home remedies, Oils, recently under PRP sessions tried 4 doctors.

The only thing I am hesitated about is Minoxidil, I bought it 14 months ago but didn't use it, I don't want to use it for lifelong, and I can't stand losing much more hair in the first 2 months.

I would use it if It will cure me in a yr maximum Or something, I believe it is a heavy medication also with major side effects as well, keep hearing about bad side effects not listed by doctors like aging.

So I wolud like to know more about your experience with Minoxidil and if anybody has stopped it awhile ago and still have the new hair.

And @chicanery updates

Sorry for the long post but it is more like Therapy session.

Excuse my bad English it is mot my mother tongue.

Heyyy Sue! Welcome to the club lol. I too purchased minoxidil a while back and was hesitant on using it because of the lifelong experience. It takes a lot of courage to go up to the mirror and use it twice daily. At first, I started doing it once every night but didn't see results. After a few months of committing to two times daily, I started to see SOME results. Minoxidil may be a cure for SOME people, but that isn't always the case for other people. You're at a stage in your life where hair loss is actually really common but I agree that losing lots of hair is still abnormal. All I can say is that the only way to grow back your hair is changing your lifestyle into a more healthy lifestyle and waiting for a VERY long time. I remember as soon as I stopped using minoxidil for a while, my hair started getting thinner again but less was falling out because I was still doing other healthy things like exercising, removing stress, and eating more protein.

Good luck!

it's so lame all this happened because of taking some pills to fix some acne. anyway, I've been on Minoxidil almost 8 months now. I'm not sure if it's that effective, my hair still sheds like crazy. but I use it once a day, 6 times a week, not crazy committed to it. don't over think it, it's like brushing your teeth or you have to have 3 meals a day, just part of your daily routine.

some pics here, one is old from Sept. 2017, the other two is from last night (1.5 years). it looks like some improvement. luckily my hair didn't thin out that much and stayed thick throughout. but lost a lot of hair volume.

Biotin every other day, zinc every night. shampoo once (or twice a week) but wash with water 3,4 times. haven't found a good shampoo yet. used Nizoral shampoo which does wonders for dandruff but not sure if it's effective for hair loss.

Yeah, the bright side is that you still have lots of hair. Other than that, your worst enemy is basically strong winds. How old are you by the way?

My friends! I've recently come across an interesting article and several videos related to hair loss. However, as good as this news may sound to us, getting to where we want to be in this case may be harder. I'm talking about NOFAP. YES, THAT'S RIGHT. I'm talking about THAT stupid challenge which sounds better than it used to before I started losing hair. Now I'm aware that the minimum extent of the challenge lasts for 90 days minimum and that people aren't allowed to ejaculate, masturbate, orgasm, climax, and so on so forth for that period of time. I've watched videos of people with experiences going through the challenge men and women alike that have regained some or most of their hair and have even filled up bald spots. In my case personally, I'm Asianbut I've been cursed to have fine wavy hair compared to my other Asian friends so my hair has always been considerably more light and thin naturally. Now I'm going to assume that most of the people on this thread are in their teens to somewhere in their 20's which is where this challenge works wonders. HOWEVER! If any of you are avid fappers, STOP THAT. We might all be adults but there's a fine line between fapping to someone who doesn't even know we exist VS better health. I know this is a fifty fiftychance I'm betting on, but it's like a last resort if you're willing to go through hell. Having sex also counts to nofapso we can't do that either.

Some benefits of nofapinclude:

- Better hair volume and growth

- Slowing of female and male pattern baldness (possibly reversing)

- Better looking skin (less acne)

- More energy and focus

- More willpower

- Apparently, your intelligence increases as well???

- and not being a loser who jacks off to porn (sorry not sorry lmao)

I'll try this for a month and let you all know how this goes!

Yeah wet hair is annoying, especially if it's raining. That's why I always pack an umbrella o.0

When it comes to minoxidil, it seems like you have a routine at least. However, you need to use it twice or thrice daily at least 6 days a week to actually get results. If you're just using it once daily and you've been going at it for 8 months, that's like the equivalentof dabbing water on your head and you aren't getting your money's worth as we can already tell. I recently just stopped using minoxidil because I don't like the idea of having to stay committed forever. It's insane how much determination some people have but after a while, you say "screw it." Sure you might lose hair in the process but it saves the hassle of having to spend a few minutes when you're rushing to get ready for school or work.

Thanks lotus001for your reply,

I am still hesitant about using Minoxidil, I read all your reviews about Minoxidil but still afraid of loosing more hair in the first months, and still not sure what happens when you stop it, does it get worse? Or I ll lose the hair I got from Minoxidil because my plan if I am going to use it,is to use it for few months and then stop it gradually as I hope that may cause like a shock for hair and help it to get out of the telogen phase or whatever phase we are going through.

don't think That my hair loss case has nothing to do with age, because I had very thick healthy hair the best hair of my friends who are in the same age, and all shed atarted all of sudden when I started this poison, and when I look to my friends their hairlook the same nobody started to loose hair because of aging.

I think I ll wait before I take the decision of using Minoxidil, I ll have my 3rd PRP session soon, I hope it works.

When you use Minoxidil, the first few weeks or months will have you losing quite a bit of hair. Afterwards, you'll start growing your hair back and it'll be thicker and healthier. However, you must commit to using Minoxidil 2-3 times a day forever if you want to keep that new hair you grew. Let's say as an example that you've been taking Minoxidil for a year and have gained lots of hair. Once you stop using Minoxidil on your hair for a few weeks or months, your hair will shed so much to the point before you started using Minoxidil. Minoxidil is a special kind of medicine, but it's not a MIRACLE drug. It is very unlikely that it will cause your hair any shock to grow back because if this was true, then all bald men would be using Minoxidil and there would be no more bald men left in this world haha. Minoxidil is powerful enough to grow hair, but not powerful enough to cure baldness forever.

The hair loss caused by Accutane DOES involve AGING. What Accutane does is that it actually speeds up the rate of male or female pattern baldness which is caused by DHT (a sex hormone) or AGING. So even if someone was young, Accutane would make it so that theyhave the hair of an older man/woman to put things simply.

I wouldn't look at your friends if I were you because they obviously have different hair genetics. Everybody is born with either the chance of hair loss or no hair loss and everybody experiences some form of hair loss at different points in their life. Also, they didn't take Accutane, so your case for hair loss would be much more different from any of them. Comparing your hair to theirs is pointless and it's something I realized a long time ago with my friends.

Just remember that everybody eventually loses at least some hair with age!

I hope this helped...
