Hi, I am an 18 year old male living in the U.K. I have been taking accutane, in my country also known as isotretinoin for around 9 months. A couple of weeks after stopping the medication I have noticed hair loss and excessive hair thinning. I always had a very thick head of hair and never experienced any major hair loss or thinning. My overall acne has disappeared, although now I'm worried about my hair as I have never experienced such a thing. Currently my head feels quite sore and tingly a couple times a day. I have read a lot of forums and found out that actually a lot of people get hair loss and thinning during or after taking the medication (accutane), I have also read that the hair loss and thinning is reversible although it can keep up to a few months to grow back to its original form. Could you please leave me some feedback as I am pretty worried about this as I always had a thick head of hair and suddenly out of nowhere my hair changed dramatically. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi ,im actually experiencing this now 2 months into isotretinoin treatment. During the first 2 weeks my scalp was so tingly and itchy and dry.I bought some coconut ointment from the chemist for my scalp. The itching has stopped but my hair although it feels like its in amazing condition and never gets greasy it is alot thinner. I was told it takes 6 months plus to get the drug out of your system and then any side effects should subside and everything should return to normal. If you are still worried i would speak to your doctor about it . good luck

get a colon cleanse!!!! The same thing happened to me and it was because the accutane was still stuck in my colon and disrupting everything. Also, take Himalaya liver cleanse vitamins, they are the best to clear out the rest of the accutane still stuck in your liver. Lastly, it is very common to become anemic because of an accutane trial and this can lead to further hair thinning, so try to take some supplements with iron. These steps completely stopped my hair loss and my hair slowly but surely came back to the thickness it was before accutane. Also take some biotin, this will help the hair growth. TRUST ME, do these things and your hair will go back :)

Hey troystory. Could you please elaborate on the colon cleanse and liver cleanse? What kind of colon cleanse, how many times etc till you noticed an improvement? Seriously considering doing these cleanses but haven't really come across anyone else who has and got results i.e stopped their hairfall. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!!
