Hey, guys. I have almost completed week 13 of generic Tretinoin gel 0.025%, and so far I'm a little frustrated. I did take some pictures of my skin today, and my face looks quite better than my previous pictures, but I am hoping that I'm not wasting my time bc I feel like my skin texture is still crap. I have been thinking of giving Tretinoin until week 16... And if I'm not satisfied, I might just go back to Dan's BP. A lot has been running through my brain on what to do.
Anyways, I was recently prescribed Doxycycline, which I am not too excited about taking because I don't want it to make my acne worse in the months ahead, so any input on that from current and past users would be appreciated. My doctor talked about not having me on it for too long, and then weaning me off it... So, yea.
The main thing that I'm curious about is if the light from television causes the Tretinoin to not work. I cannot fall asleep without television, and I usually fall asleep pretty darn late, so if some successful Tretinoin users do this as well, it would be a relief. I've briefly read a few studies, and they have stated that artificial light such as fluorescent & incandescent can degrade Tretinoin, but I'm not sure if that applies to television light.
Any advice would be helpful from current, successful, or even not successful Tretinoin users.
Hey fila
I am presently on tretinoin 0.025% week 15. Well, in my experience till now.. I don't think anything like this happens. I sleep at around 3am every night after watching movies on tv in my room and my progress has been some sort of bittersweet. Moat of my pimples have gone but new ones come every now and then. Also the hyperpigmentation is really bad, I have no idea when it will be gone. Best of luck to you with tretinoin. 🙂
