Does anyone know what "sodium sulfacetamide 9% & sulfur 4.5%" face wash is? I really want to know before I use it! Will it be drying like BP? Use it daily? The only other product I use on my face is aloe vera gel moisturizer even though it's not that moisturizing I like that it feels soothing. Should I put the aloe vera gel right after washing my face with this or is it ok to wait a couple hours and put it on whenever, and should I buy a real moisturizer or will I not need one for this/(aloe vera gel would be fine)

It's a face wash, used for acne, seborrheic dermatitis and Rosacea. It can be drying, but I never experienced this. It's a pretty mild cleanser. I think you are supposed to wash your face and leave it on for 1-2 minutes, if you experience drying, reduce the time it is left on your face. My dermatologist said its like giving yourself a quick mud mask. Hope this helps. Use what ever you like after you wash.

oh right, i remember i also have dermatitis. i got some flaky skin and raw red patches which is apparently that. so if its not drying i can just skip the moisturizer and put aloe vera at evening or night?

one last question if you know, do you know why it's a prescription drug? usually I think of prescription drugs as harsh, not mild. so would this be a safe face wash to use long term? no side effects like aging etc. Safe to use in the area around eyes and nose?

It's a prescription because the sodium sulfactimide is a topical antibiotic. It's pretty mild.

I would read the seborrheic dermatitis thread on this forum for some good advice about dermatitis.
