i've heard that when taking accutane, i should take it with a high fat meal. i've always been taking it with food but none of them have been that high in fat. will the accutane only work with a meal that has it?

Accutane is fat soluble, so yes, it will work better with high fat meals

I took every single pill with a glass of 2% milk for breakfast. Cereal a few times, but mostly just the milk. I was in college at the time and never had time for a proper breakfast. The accutane worked crazy good, so just the milk worked

Everyone says high fatty meals, can we be more specific? Would clean chick rice and beans be a fatty meal?

I take mine with toast and a milky coffee in the morning....I've heard many comments about taking it with a "high fat meal" but I think most accutane can now just be taken with or just after food....My Derm mentioned nothing about "high fat meal" and the directions given on my accutane box just say to be taken with or just after food....again, no mention of "high fat meal" I'm no expert so I'm sure others can answer this better but I'm sure the way the tablets/pills are made these days mean they work just as well either way.....for peace of mind....I'm sure a glass of full milk with your breakfast would be enough!

You will absorb more medicine when you eat a high fat meal with each dose. If you're taking it twice a day, Eat a substantial meal and have a heaping spoonful of peanut butter with your breakfast and dinner. It's the most cost efficient, a healthy way to get the necessary amount.
