Hello everyone, I am a 15 year old male. Acne runs in my family and I have been getting pimples for the past 3 years. It wasn't that bad until last year. It was really bad in the fall of 2014. I get many spots and they wouldn't go away. After a few months of that, the activity on my face went down. I didn't get as bad of pimples and there weren't as many. However, there were a lot of post acne red marks. My face looked like I had severe acne when I really only had a few pimples. They never had time to heal and the red marks spread to both of my cheeks and a little on my forehead. I went to my dermatologist and we talked about accutane. After thinking about it with my parents we decided I would start in the July of 2015. I broke out in the beginning, but now I don't break out as much. I don't have many pimples but the red marks still look the same. The accutane is supposed to stop the pimples so my face can fade the red marks. How long will this take or will my red marks never fade? I need help it looks bad right now and my self confidence is at an all time low.

Accutane faded the majority of my red marks but I just finished my 7 month course last week and still have two very red marks on my right cheek - they have been there since month 2. Im hoping now i'm finished they will clear, but every other mark has faded really well

I'm in the exact same boat! I feel extremely self conscious about my skin because of the red marks, I'm only in my second month so I don't have that much experience but whenever I do get PIH it takes a long while until it goes away and I've got it all over my cheeks at the moment, it's very discouraging because I feel it will never go away.
