In the middle of MONTH 3!

Still in the "Gets worse before it gets better" phase... and am TIRED of it.

Side effects- Dry, swollen lips (bearable), dry skin(better than month 2 though), hair thinning.

60mg Absorica, now taking both 30mgs with high-fat dinner per derms request since I wasn't "dry enough" at my last appointment.

Feeling: Extremely discouraged.. Tired of the redness (Thankful for Mac concealer!)

My face has definitely never been this bad before. Does anyone's face look like mine? I HAVE however noticed the LARGE cysts are going away. Lots of whiteheads(that I pop... I know I shouldn't...ugh)

Left is Month 1- Right is today. Definitely gotten worse... :( Side note: I should have used flash on my phone since Day 1- definitely shows everything more clearly.

That's definitely NOT unusual. Some people break out clear until their 6 months. If by month 5 you have not seen some improvement, it may be time to up your dosage. In the meantime, try not to worry.

Things should start getting much better in the next month or two! This is how my acne was when I first took accutane. Got worse for Months 1-3. Then things cleared up for Months 4-5. Completely clear by Month 6. Just hang in there!!

Literally what happened to me :) i didn't stop getting new spots until month five. Be prepared, the hyperpigmentation may stay for a bit longer, but you will notice considerably lower acne :)

That's so refreshing! I'm starting month 4 now so hopefully it will get better soon. I broke out some more this week... Ugh. One volcano on my forehead and one painful one on my chin.. ugh whyyyY?

I'm currently halfway through my third month. 40mg for month one and 60mg after that. I should be going up to 80mg next month.

My skin has been very clear since the beginning of month 3. I got a couple on my back, but that's it! My acne has always been mild to moderate, but cystic.

I know it's disheartening, but you will clear. We're all different!
