Hi guys , i was wondering if anyone has had any Retin-A disasters after a few months of use ...

I was prescribed Retin- A 0.05% cream about 5 months ago and i used it every other day as instructed by my dermatologist (s) . At first it was awesome very clear skin and even tone so i figured it was finally the cure ive been searching for . It slowly got worse as i continued using it , i started getting huge enlarged pores all ever my face like everywhere even my forehead , and then i noticed little red scars everywhere! And to top it off , huge blackheads, and discoloration. .. wow .. anyways i woke up and looked in the mirror about a week ago and said F!#k this i would rather just be full of pimples like i was before this .. so i stopped using it but the damage has been done ...

Please anyone know how to recover from this disaster , and just go back to having only pimples ? Lol this sucks , anyways thank you!

Looks like some post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It happens when your skin gets inflammed, leaving a red or brown mark where the inflammation was previously. Nothing you can really do about it besides wait it out, although chemical peels & AHA's help lighten the marks faster.

Perhaps the over all inflamation of your skin went down and you are just now seeing the marks left over from your acne. When you skin is inflamed and red those marks blend in. Retin A would actually speed up the process of those going away. I definately would not go back to only pimples. Its not only pimples, its pimples and then red spots and scarring.
