I am potentially thinking of starting using Duac, and had some questions.

My acne is pretty manageable / not severe, but I have pretty oily skin and occasionally get clogged pores that quickly get red and inflamed (and these marks take months to go away).

I didn't really like BP and do not plan on using Duac daily as a routine (mainly due to it causing dry skin).

Instead I am looking for something strong that I can spot treat with as soon as I notice redness/irritation, before the spot gets inflamed and filled with pus. Would Duac work for something like this, to quickly reduce inflammation/risk of scarring once a spot start forming, or does it only work if applied every day to prevent spots in the first place?

Any input from Duac users highly appreciated. Any other recommendations for effective spot treatments would be helpful as well.
