so im 16 and about two months ago, i had a severe breakout after using a face wash for just two days like nothing id seen before, it was going from mild to possibly moderate. i saw a doctor as it had completely wrecked my skin, and i was prescribed duac once daily gel. i used this straight away using e45 as a moisturiser. it cleared up my mild acne within a week and i was completely chuffed, the only problem being that by midday my face would look like an oil slick, and i realised when i started to break out again, my duac wasnt working (this is only a month later). i went back to my gp to see what she could do, and she told me to carry on with the duac for another month as its supposed to dry up the skin aswell, and to steer clear of e45 cream. i did exactly this, and started washing my face (with just lukewarm water) three times a day as she told me. ive been doing this only a week, but my duac without moisturiser has just wrecked my skin. its flaky and dry, but my skin still gets as oily during the day. i have red patches on my skin from the duac, and i have to keep this up for a month to see if i notice a difference but its worse than before, and i also break out in areas that ive never broken out before and the actual spots arent budging, and its given my skin a weird texture like its scarred over. any suggestions as to what i should do? do i carry on with duac? is it supposed to make it worse again?? and do i continue using it without a moisturiser, and if not, which should i use? if i went back to my doctor, what should i ask for?
