My doctor prescribed me retin-a and 5% benzoyl peroxide. I've been using it as prescribed for the past 2 weeks and my skin is going crazy! It wasn't even this bad to begin with

Normally, i get mild acne around my chin and the corners of my nose. Whenever i get a zit, i usually just pop it or leave it alone. If i pop it, it scars (which is why i went to the dermatologist) and it i leave it alone (usually the ones around the nose). But the ones that i've "left alone" are back, in their same spots! Is it because i didnt pop it and the retin-A is making my skin purge?

Should i ask my doctor to change regimens? Thank you!
