I'm currently on week 2 of 40mg accutAne daily. I'm a musician and have recently been diagnosed with a repetitive strain injury called trigger thumb.

I was wondering if accutAne is still safe to take while having this?

It's probably fine. I broke my toe three weeks Into tane and it was fine. It may take longer to heal on accutane but in general your body is already taking a beating from being on the drug
