im 140 lbs, was on accutane 40mg/day for 4 months, ended in end of july. been pimples free for 3 months then acne slowly came back but really small and i tried new products too, so might caused breakouts.
at the moment i dont have much pimples, maybe 3 small, normally they go away fast.
but i cant have a week without a new one coming out. even if they fade away quick.
so ive been back to my derm and asked him about a second course since it was slowly creepin back !
should i expect another initial breakout ? since i finished my first course not so long ago ?
also im not 100 % sure i should be on accutane again but i dont wanna take chance. i loved my skin for the 3 months.
PS; Havent had much side effects on my first course except cold hands, dry hands, and usual dry lips etc.

I'm currently on my second course. I finished my first course in April 2014, so I had about 5-6 months of clear skin before my acne returned in full force.
Your dose seems quite low, it probably should have been 60mg and you should have been on it for 6 months rather than 4.
Even though my acne is reasonably mild I still decided to go on a second round, because it would have gradually worsened I'm sure. Plus, your chances of breaking out again after the second round are next to nothing whereas quite a few people relapse after the first round.

i know, my first derm put me on that cause it was summer and didnt want to take risk to expose too long to the sun..never got sunburn tho.. so idk why
and that second term i told him i should have did at least a 6 months course on my first time, and he said time frame doesnt play a link lol.. that 4 months or 6 months is the same thing for me, for my type of acne idk..
so he putted me on 4 months 40mg again but honestly when i did see him i had like 2-3 zits max. but could feel new one forming soon.
