Hi. This is the second time I will be using accutane. First time was spring 2011 but my acne came back in fall 2011.
However my derm will give me Accutane. She told me that I have 2 options. The first one is full normal dose during 6-7months, 60mg/day, my weight is around 65 kg.
Then she told me that I could go a low-dose. I will however get a full dose but over a longer period of 2 years, 60mg/week(20mg every other day or third). It sounds so strange to me, but she told me that it maybe is a better option. The results will be the same because I will get a full dose and wont have that much side effect like normal dose. I dont have prob with the side effects, and it doesnt bother me.
I still considering taking low-dose for 2 years, and not because of the side effects. I'm currently 22 years and my acne is coming back all the time. Im thinking that if I take the cure over 2 years I will be 24 when I'm done. And by that time my hormones likely are more stable(hope you understand what I mean).
And if im taking the normal high dose I will still be 22 when I'm finish, and I'm really afraid that acne will come back again like it did last time. So how high is the chance that my acne will be cured after my second Accutane cure? Should i go normal dose or low dose for 2years?
And one more question. My acne came back the same year after my first accutane cure(2011). Wouldnt it be bettter to take my second cure at that time instead of waiting until now? Or does it matter?
Sorry for the language, English isnt my mother language.
