Hi all!

I'm 33 and still battle with moderate acne. It started at 16 for me.

After a few years of experimenting with different things, I finally found that a duo of Benzaclin gel and doxycycline pills did a VERY GOOD job of keeping it at bay.

Fast forward 5 or 6 years to now, and my insurance will no longer cover these prescriptions!

It's been about two weeks, and I'm already seeing my face get worse. I bought the ACNE FREE brand of wash and gel from Target recently, and I'm not really a fan. It's basically ProActive, which never worked for me, years back.

Do any of you have any alternatives to the Benzaclin Gel? I believe it was 5% benzoyl peroxide, but not sure what else was in it.

What about an alternative to the Doxycycline? Have any of you tried any over the counter pills/vitamins that have helped you?

Thanks!

Hi!

Diet changes, zinc, and milk thistle help me a lot. They have all been studied and shown effectiveness against acne, and it works for me! Topical vitamin B3 is really effective as well. Here's a good one: https://www.amazon.com/Niacinamide-Cream-Serum-Anti-Aging-Pigmentation/dp/B00J5N0Y4U/

Good luck figuring it out :)
