So just a little over a week ago I stated a routine that my derm suggested:

At night:

  1. Wash face with 5-10% benzoyl peroxide
  2. Apply Clindamycin topical lotion (1%)
  3. Apply Tretinoin Cream (0.025%)

I've noticed that contrary to what most information says, my skin is doing the opposite of getting dry, it's getting extremely oily but dry around my lips (where I really need it to clear up). It's gotten better as I've continued the routine.

I'm just curious, has anyone else done a similar routine? If so, how did it work for you?

Also, does anyone know how long it will take to clear up (I have mild, all over but never cystic acne)?

Thanks :)

Hey,

I had the same medications prescribed. You are feeling oily because of the tretinoin cream except its not oil, its the cream. Instead of the benzoyl peroxide, I was told to use cetaphil. Also, it worked really well for me, it took me about a week or 2 to show improvements.

Good luck!
