Ive been on Tretinoin Gel .01% for 14 years with a break of 1 year switching to Tazorac but decided to go back to Tretinoin Gel since it didn't make my skin so oily. It took me a good 6 to 8 months to see an improvement and about a year or so to get the full effects. I had a horrible break out the first 3 to 4 months. Are you using it every day or every other day? I was also very red and had dry skin so I used a moisturizer during the day and a very light application of the tretinoin gel at night.

The first few weeks I was using it every other night like my doctor said to. Now I am using it every night. All I do at night is wash my face, wait 30 minutes, then apply the gel.
