Hey so my first run went beautifully, July 1 2013- November 1 2013. About two weeks ago it started coming back and now it's all over again, not as bad but nonetheless back. So I'm starting another course and I have some questions.

My previous side effects

Chapped lips

Dry skin, mostly facial

On some days blurred vision, only at distant objects

On some days muscle and back pain

Everything is 100% normal though now

Q1 can I expect the medication to work faster this time? Now that my body knows it

Q2 will all my side effects return? And will they be to the same extent or weaker/lessened?

Thanks

Hey there!

I am on my second course of accutane as well! It sucks but hey everbody is different and I am glad for accutane! I am only on day 20 but hopefully my input can help you! Now like I said, everybody is different. My side effects during my first course was nose bleeds, joint pain, chapped lips and dry face but I took my first course right before summer happened. Now that it is winter time, it is a little different I guess. A lot has happened for me. I had extremely oily skin both times but my oily skin went away about a month and a half during my first course. This time, it only took a week and my lips and face were drying within a week and a half. So i assume the medication is working faster. I haven't had any nose bleeds, but I did have a little headache but I think stress from school was a contributing factor to that. I do have joint pain which is understandable, especially that it is cold, my joints tend to pop more. Things are working faster but as severity, I believe my initial breakout this time around is worse but I know that it will eventually get better. The blackheads and whiteheads on my nose and around it are being pushed out and drying out faster then my first course which is a good sign because that means it is working. It took me a month and a half I remember during my first course for that to happen. Hope that helps so far. I have pics of me before and after accutane of my first course if you want to check them out. It works amazingly! Btw it also depends on your dosage. I am on 40mg a day which is what I was as well during my first course but dropped to 20 mg on my first course but now I am on 40 mg and will be increased to 60mg starting next month. Good Luck, hope that helps
