Hi guys

Just started a course of minocycline they are made by actavis and are 100mg tablets not capsules and it says minocycline in fairly big letters on the box is this generic minocycline?

Secondly I have 100mg when I randomly wake up around 5am I do lie down after but since I have 0.5l of water with it I think it's well washed down to cause any problems but my second pill I take around 4:30pm about 4 hours after a meal I then have tea exactly an hour after do you think this hour is enough time for the tablet to be absorbed before I eat the food I just want the best out if the medication and it says nothing in the pamphlet I got in the box

Thanks for any comments

Its best to take the medication on an empty stomach, or at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal (so 4 hours should be plenty of time). They tell you not to lie down with antibiotics like minocycline (but moreso doxycycline, I think) because it might cause heartburn, but I don't think it effect absorption. You can probably take your second pill a little earlier (like 3:30 instead of 4:30) to be absolutely sure it's absorbed before you eat - but you're schedule sounds fine to me (and you have to eat some time, right?!).
