Hi All

Firstly a little about my self. Im M “ 27 India. Have been Working in Canada for a few years and now back in India for a while.
I have been battling with acne for more than 6 years on and off.
I had impeccable skin for the 2 years I was based in Toronto but as soon as I got back the acne and pimples and what not were back with a vengeance.

I have taken a whole bunch of Antibiotics for the past 6 years ( at intervals maybe 1 time a year for 2 weeks) ranging from Minoz to Aziwok to Zithrox as per directions from my Dermatologist. And theyworked for a while but also came back worse than before.

I visited her and once again she has put me on a prolonged dose of antibiotics this time for 40 DAYS!!! on Minoz 100 and Minoz 50.

I followed up with her after somewhat of an improvement and she has now advised to take Aziwok 500 (6days) and start on a course of Isotroin 30 for 45 days.

My Dermat says that I have been on antibiotic on and off for almost 6 years.
So Antibiotic will only suppress the bacterial infection for now and make it dormant until the next trigger for a full blown relapse.

I have stayed up all night reading several articles here and on other sites and to be honest I am a bit freaked out.

I have extremely oily skin, For eg if i wash my face with ducray keracnyl in the morning its oily again in 2 hrs. So I wash my face with ducray keracnyl arnd 5 “ 6 times a day.

Also I have around 100 tiny boils all over my shoulders / back also apart from arnd a dozen pimples on my face and marks and scar almost a year old.
I have not made up my mind yet. Hoping you guys will help me make up my mind. Attaching my latest prescribtions

D Pustular Acne

Minoz 100 (20 days) /Minoz 50 (20 days)
Deriva Bpo /Ducray keracnyl / Ansolar 30SPF

Follow up Visit

Aziwok 500mg (6days) “ Started 3rd dayIsotrion 30mg 45 days
Deriva gel / Episoft cleaning Lotion fashwash
Epitheliale AH cream ( twice daily)
Ansolar SPF30 / Cebaben cream for dry lips

I have decided to post a few pics for my face (cropped) before I started my antibiotics and after 50 Days of taking antibiotics. The First 2 pics are before rest are after and current pics.

I feel my acne is severe , but I am getting biased reviews from friends and family may be because the don™t want to hurt my feelings.

But what I need is an unbiased review from you guys please.

Do I need Acuutane (Cipla Isotretonion) ????

I am very sorry I wrote soo much for you guys to read and thank you all for taking time to go through my post. Will grateful for any replies / advice / help / tips or words of wisdom.

Thanks and Regards

Thanks CWR24 and megtree,

So I guess you guys are saying I should go ahead with Isotretinoin.

Does anyone out here feel I should try out anything else before taking the plunge.

Please advice.

I find most things for severe acne don't work, except Accutane. It's honestly worth it. If it's bothering you, why waste your time trying things that probably won't work.

Accutane is the only thing that will make ur skin dry and stop the pimples.. But, in my experience, its not a cure.. It can help u for a couple of months.. All the best..
