Hey,

I am at my halfway point today (3 months) if I continue on my current dosage (60mg/day) and all I can say about my skin is that is a hell of a lot worse. About 3-4 times worse than when I first started. Not a day goes by without me getting 2-3 new spots. Hopefully it gets better soon.

Just have a few questions I was wondering if anyone could answer.

  1. I touch my skin a lot when I am at home. Usually in the mornings-lunch when I havn't actually washed my face yet. Is this going to cause be a big contributing factor as to why its getting worse?
  2. Stress. I've been really stressed out recently with university an was wondering if that would have a big effect on my skin?
  3. Fresh air. Been sitting inside a lot recently as I don't really want to go out. Does being out in the fresh air actually help?

Thanks!

ah im a month into post accutane. and really only improved like month 6 (but that also could be the case because i stopped wearing makeup- and thick creams). Because i was so dry i thought getting a really thick hydrating cream would do the job- but because my skin is so sensitive and clog prone it just made me breakout even though i was on the medicine! Also quiting makeup helped loads (but if you are a male you dont have this issue).

Its best to ask your derm but i can make some recc.

- i guess first is dont touch your face (at all) if you have an itch- which happens a lot when your skin is peeling- get a clean tissue and use that.

- use one side of the pillow case for 1 night at a time- and dont touch your pillow! I dont have this issue because i sleep like a mummy on my back.

-Water! oh man... the solution to all problems. Drink only water (no coffee, tea, soda, or whatever) You will feel + plus your skin will feel refreshed! I have a water bottle thats marked in ML so i know how much i drink. In the morning when you get out of bed and getting ready i drink about 1500 ML. and by the end of the day will have made it up to a little less than 5000ML.

-Cleanser- i found that if you overdo it with this it can make things worse. (use a basic cleasner- a cream one) i use cerave hydrating cleasner- works awsome.

-hydrating- a thick cream made my face cloggy- so i went back to my old lotion- cerave hydrating lotion- which is very watery but does the job great.

-food- i know its pretty annoying when people say to alter diets.- but dont eat anything that isnt... mhhh real? does that make sense? like think about how it was made- also things with high salt content (asian cusines) and stuff very saucy sometimes get effect. Also try cutting all dairy out- or just have a little amount.

-good luck!

I am a healthy eater and drinker currently. 4 litres or more of water a day. No junk food at all. Havn't touched alcohol in about 2 months. I change my pillow case every 2 days and just swap sides each night.

Im guessing I am just one of those unlucky ones who start to clear a bit later. My skins started to smooth a little bit even though I am getting new spots every day. Hopefully in a couple of weeks time its better!
