Hello everyone. I am a 22 years old college student from Atlanta, and I am beginning Accutane (Amnesteem) journey tonight! My dermatologist put me on 60MG dosage with 40MG in the morning and 20MG at night. She also specifically wanted me to get Amnesteem instead of Claravis.

My acne started when I was in middle school. It began with my forehead and went on my face. I've tried various antibiotics such as doxycycline and creams. Initially, those medications worked really well, and my acnes did clear up. Until my sophomore year in college, acnes came back on my chin, and soon, my neck started to break out with those skin color/white bumps. I visited the school dermatologist, and got back on the antibiotics and creams; however, the medications did little to cure my acne. During this time, I've tried pretty much all kinds of face wash, herbal supplements, and what not, but the cystic acnes on my chin/neck are just so persistent. I had no choice but went back to the dermatologist and got on Accutane.

I'll be on the medication for at least five months, and I'll try my best to update this page with pictures and my progress. I know everyone on this forum suffers some kind of acne, and I hope this post can help you if you are going to consider Accutane as your last resort. Good luck everyone!!
