Hi!

I'm hoping to be starting Roaccutane very soon, and was wondering that when it comes to dry lips, what do you peeps think is best; Vaseline or Aquaphor?

I'm in the UK and I think that I'd have to buy aquaphor online (unless anyone can recommend somewhere that sells it?). Is it worth doing this or is Vaseline just as good for dry accutane lips?

Thanks, any inputs would be much appreciated :)

They're both pretty good barrier creams, and I use aquaphor a lot, but I need moisture in my lips too. Accutane essentially ceases the oil production so barrier creams like aquaphor do help (pretty sure aquaphor does have some mineral oil in it, but not enough for me... not sure if vaseline is moisturizing or not). I like to replace the moisture first. In the day I can usually get by with a good moisturizing, hydrating balm with soothing oils in it. But at night I coat my lips in 100% jojoba oil or 100% argan oil (pricey freakin stuff though) and let it soak in. Then I use aquaphor over top. I also use aquaphor in the day too because although its not actually very moisturizing, it does in incredible job for me at healing the cracks in my lips and it makes them feel so much better.

PS Aquaphor is actually made by Eucerin and I think it is sold at Boots in the UK but don't quote me on that wink.png

I prefer vaseline to aquaphor. Vaseline seems to penetrate the lips and moisturize better. Its also cheaper. Just my experience. Hope this helps.

Neither. Bag Balm, if you can get it.

Try drugstores and grocery stores. I buy mine at a local drugstore chain that carries the smaller (and thus more portable) 1oz jars.
