So I am just finishing up my first pack of Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, and for the first three weeks, my acne was absolutely atrocious. It seemed to get worse, with cysts covering my cheeks and forehead and breaking out in my jawline the week before the placebo pills. However, I started the placebo pills on Sunday, and it's Thursday and my skin seems to be in a much better condition. I haven't had any new zits form since Sunday, which means a lot with where my skin has been at lately.
I know most people seem to break out on the placebos, which is why I'm not sure and a little scared that once I started my second pack on Sunday, I'll break out again. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I'm on a birth control called Reclipsen, so not quite the same, but here is my guess
if you're just finishing your first pack your body is probably still adjusting to it. Your skin could be clearing back up when you're on the sugar pills because your body is more used to being without the pill, if that makes sense. You might begin to break out again when you restart the active pills but hopefully within another pack or two you will begin to clear up/see consistency.
But that's entirely a guess (:
