Hey guys! So I've just been prescribed azeliac acid as a topical- my acne is quite severe, and i tried it yesterday and it can be quite...greasy? But it leaves your skin feeling a bit dry after you wash it off. Anyway, my gp (I live in England) didn't really go through it with me, she just said to read the leaflet that comes with it, but I'm confused, so I hope you guys can help me with any of these questions
- - Do I have to put moisturizer on after skinoren or do i skip that step? (my skin can get dry - I use la roche posay moisturizing fluid)
- - does it help with blackheads as well? (i have a lot)
- - will it not damage my skin? Is it safe to use long term?
- - will i get acne again once i stop using?
- - what are your experiences if you have used it?
thank you again if you can answer any of these questions at all! Especially the first! You guys are lifesavers, I don't know what I would do without this forum! I'm so happy I discovered it
You should apply Skinoren as the first "layer" of product on your face once a day. Your skin should be completely dry when you apply. If you want to apply moisturizer, you should wait at least 20 minutes for the Skinoren to sink in before you apply moisturizer.
Personally I would apply Skinoren at night as your only topical, and then apply moisturizer in the morning so they aren't competing.
It won't damage your skin.
It helps most with zits and redness. It doesn't really help blackheads.
