I have done a search but it didn't quite give me what I want to know.

Basically I had an appointment with the dermatologist today after being referred by my GP. I assumed that since I had taken my blood tests that I would be prescribed it on the day but unfortunately not. My dermatologist said that I should receive my prescription within a month but I was wondering from your personal experiences how long did it take to get the prescription? It's so frustrating it's been five weeks already since I saw my GP and it could potentially be over two months in total. Just hope the wait is worth it in the end

My blood test took less than a week to come back & as soon as it's reviewed by the Derm you should be able to get your prescription.

When I got referred by my gp to see the derm the derm gave me a blood test thingy and said to make another appointment with him in about 2 weeks and then on the second appoitment if everything is okay on your blood results you get prescription for accutane.

My GP did the blood test when he referred me, so I was able to get the prescription when I saw the Derm a couple of weeks later. I do live in the middle of nowhere & find waiting times are very short! :)

My GP also did the blood test which is why i'm slightly confused to how I didn't get my perscription

Oh well I've booked my appointment for the 1st of March. Guess i'm going to be dealing with the IB on my birthday then

The initial breakout is mild in most cases. I found its more of a change than a worsening of acne. People who get quite a bad one just tend to make a fuss about it, then are fine a couple of weeks later.
