I have always had mild-moderate acne. It was worse when I was a teen and has gotten less disgusting but NEVER completely cleared (now 24). I have not lived a day without pimples, bumps, etc on my face since my first breakout. I tried everything over the counter... forget about it.
I tried Proactiv when it first came out but it made my face HORRIBLE! Then after seeing the recent Proactiv commercials with the "new better and gentler formula" I caved. Ive been using proactiv for months now and my face still hasn't completely cleared. It has worked better than over the counter but not by much... it mostly just clears new breakouts quicker.
Anyways, I have started using Epiduo a few days ago. It seems like its already working but I do feel a burning on my face, mostly my upper cheeks and extreme sensitivity around my eyes (even though i avoid it). Also the directions on the box said apply once daily in the AM.... but I've read that everyone is applying it at night????
Anyways, my main question is: Can I wash my face with proactiv AND use the epiduo gel? I dont apply the proactiv gel, I just use the wash and then clinique moisturizer after epiduo dries. Has anyone else done that? You think it'll be OK? I just kept reading that your suppose to use a "gentle" face wash and im sure proactiv isnt on that list....
Hi I use epiduo also I'm 16 and I also feel that burning sensation on my upper cheeks. But if your out in the sun a lot it will make your skin a lot more sensitive so that could be the reason it's burning. So I use practiv the repairing treatment because it has SPF in it and that will help protect your skin and stop it from burning. But that's all I could say I hope that helps a little.
