Believe, you said that the only thing that has truly helped was liver flushing. How many did you do? I am preparing for the liver flush and I read you have to continue till all stones are out. Did you pass any stones? Did your side effects improved? If you have good experience with liver flush, I am just wondering to what degree did it help and for how long. Sorry I am asking all these questions but to me liver flush sounds like only cure, it's the only thing that makes sense. Accutane is fat soluble so it needs bile for absorption, i think some of it could be still lodged with stones in our livers. Any info appreciated. thanx
I'm on the third mounth of accutane . Just i I started using the drug i noticed that my hair is thinning noticabily in the all scalp (front, back and sides) . My dermatologist told me that the hair worsened only in quality and not in quantity . In fact not fall more hair than normal but the worsening in quality are incredible now ....My hair have always been quite thin but now are a very shit ,dry, dull and fine,fine,fine.... . I could not bear to have permanently ruined my hair......Do you think that is only a temporary worsening and should not worry because the hair does not fall or i I have to stop treatment?
Thank you so much

Well people have started loosing thier hair right after thier course. I am tell you to stop taking accutane! Thing is I nor anyone elese can tell you that you have to bear your hair issue permanently. I mean think of it this way too maybe your acne is hormonal? Have you tried diet or light therapy? Basically you have to choose acne or hair and health?

I'm only on third mounth whit a low dosage (20 mg 1 mounth , 30 mg 2 mounth) ,acne go better even if it is not resolved . I will continue another month then stop and try to fix the damage of hair . I think that the accutane's dose taken would also be relatively small and could dispose of it quickly . I'm desperate, I'm afraid I got in a street with no way out .

Well you could be right about small dosage, but dosage means nothing! Not to scare you, but people have had worst side effects then hair loss on 20 or 30mg. It's up to you though in the end on what you choose to do. Good Luck!
Nice progress Believe. I switched to a supposedly additive free brand of grocery store chicken, got sick, switched back to organic, and got better. Something about the omega 6:3 ratio or arsenic or whatever else in the chicken feed, I guess.

IndigoRush : the photo i'm using, its taken before starting to loose hair...i wish my hair looked like this now:(
Guys.....its pretty clear that vitamins or other silly suppliments wont help us. The only things we can do is to detoxify out bodies as much as we can....colon detoxification, liver detoxification, drinking lots and lots of water, eating healthy, running, ...and praying.
My acne is not so bad as it was before. Maybe u guys think i was silly to take Accutane, but since i was 17 years old until 23 i tried EVERYTHING. No good results guy, my acne advanced to the point where huge pimples could be seem all over my cheeks, nose, forehead, ear lobs, all over my neck....they were HUGE guys. I looked like a freak. U could just imagine how i felt so many years looking like a shit.
Accutane gave me many many side effects. But the one i cant stand at all is loosing my hair. I can accept permanent depression, eye dryness, the bones problems, lack of energy, memory problems, but the hair loss makes me die guys. I
Today i had an exam and while writting the paper i saw some hairs which fell on the paper. After calling someone, i noticed on the phone screen hair man........it falls so easily. I lost a big part of it. And my skull looks terrible , i can't shave my head guys.
Damn it guys! This is not a medicine. A medicine is suppose to FIX something. But Accutane only damages you, it doesnt fix anything. This is a poison. Roche should be sentenced forever, and he should receive Accutane instead of food.
I wanna ask you guys..............can u explain me what's a liver flush and how can i do it? its about taking some pills? seeing a doctor? help me, i didnt get it very well...
For the ones who wanna try a colon detoxification, i recommend you to buy detoxification pills based on argyle. The argyle is well knows for its incredible absorbtion of the toxins and kick them out through urine. I'm on it for about 2 weeks by now. The skin dryiness reduced, its a bit oily now, and the skin colour also looks more close to normal now.
Anyway..........we cant accept this shit guys. Can we let Roche win this battle? Let's keep experimenting, looking for answers, solutions, and lets keep our hopes up. We can do it guys! We can escape from this nightmare!
God help us all guys!
@evelyn: Seach my older posts and you will find a lot about liver flushing. Back in 07/08 there used to be a whole lot of people flushing on the holistic subforum here, some people got cured some didn't. I have repeated myself already too many times with regardst to liver flushing, most people don't listen or try anyways. If I were younger and would not be constantly working on projects where having an off week is not such a good idea, I would be still flushing. Everything you need to know is online. It takes a while to get your head around it and to figure out how to approach the first try, took me probably a month. I did not see any stones the first time, but the second time was a great success, I remember that besides the stones I got a lot of "sand" to come out. So good luck.
+1 on the Epsom Salts, they help me as well. So does raw garlic, probably due to improved blood flow.
Comprehensive blood and feces test results are expected in about two weeks.
Some people give advice here. Some is good and universal, some is their own experience at best, and some could even be dangerous.
Too lazy to go into details, but for anyone who reads this thread: Broad statements, generalizations of any kind, are rarely representing reality. They're mental shortcuts. Keep that in mind
Reading your post brings back memory's of my side effects in particular the hair loss , i've been using Saw Palmetto for about 2 weeks now and it really does re -grow hair on the top of my head , I took it last year for about 2 months and was shocked at the re growth , the new hair I got remaines to this day , that was the bonus part , so this year I decided to use it again . One big point her is you have to take a lot of it like 6 capsule per day , that is actually recommended on the bottle I buy , 460 mg per capsule
but it does work it is quite amazing seeing my hair grow back after so many years.
Under no circumstances should anyone affected by Isotretinoin be knowingly taking a dual 5 alpha-reductase inhibitor.

Really all I have noticed is positive benefits from taking saw palmetto , nothing but positive effects , maybe you work for Big Pharma lol....

Taking another anti-androgen after Accutane for something like hairloss is weak; pretending there are no negatives in a thread such as this one is even weaker. You should try some Finasteride too; damn, I just unintentionally verified your suspicions.

I'm not pretending there are no negatives to Saw Palmetto because THERE ARE NONE , and no I won't try Finasteride I don't take pharmacetical drugs sorry.
Here is a little info for you , Saw Palmetto affects DHT levels and has NO adverse effect on test. Saw Palmetto prevents testosterone from converting into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which causes prostate cells to multiply, and also leads to male balding. This herb prevents the binding of DHT to androgen receptors, thus playing a key role in helping prevent and treat prostate enlargement, and also hair loss. It also effectively regulates and lowers DHT, which is good because too much DHT has negative sides. It also helps to protect your prostate and your hair foliciles. So you shouldn't have any problems with balding and your junk. DHT is important though and too much suppression is also bad. Just use in moderation.

Funny, as the same thing was said about Finasteride; now there are countless people with trashed testosterone level amongst other hormonal anomalies. Many people at Propeciahelp thought it was safe to go the non-pharmacuetical route, and, guess what: they are just as bad off as the people who used FInasteride. Saw Palmetto is also an adrogen receptor antagonist in addition to being an enzyme inhibitor.
The son of a tv presenter from my country recently commited suicide. Guess what? he was taking accutane.
I'm so pissed off guys! People respect so much doctors. They say the cure people. But, it seems as they make people more sick. Most of the drugs fix one thing and cause lots of other problems. This way, they sell more drugs right? Cool stuff!
Screw the doctors and the drugs man! I'm so sick of them.
If i'll put again drugs into my mouth then i must be out of my mind!
An advice for everybody:
If you have acne, try to accept it, and thank to God that acne is the only sickness you have! NEVER take Accutane, not even 1 pill!!!!
Damn it, never take Accutane, not even if you'll look like an acne freak, dont take it!!! This drug will distroy your life completely! Its not a joke. If i hear that someone is taking Accutane, i'll find him and kick his ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just found out something pretty interesting..
Emma Stone - Y'know who I'm talking about.

She's an A-Lister. It doesn't mention when she took the drug, but you never know... This could work in our favour.
I'm feeling pretty good right now.
CBT is something you ought to consider.

Yeah there's a lot of Hollywood that has taken Accutane, a few commited suicide back in the 80's-90's - James Marshell was part of the IBD lawsuit and Martin Sheen and a few high profile actors testified! One would hope, but who knows!

Though I don't promote Finasteride/Saw Palmetto, However, in Gladiatoro's defense there have been a few suffers here and there over the many yrs who have benifited from Saw Palmetto with hair loss....
Gladiatoro - I wouldn't use it long term though and be careful!
Any opinions as to suffering from the severe dryness 2 years post treatment?
Is it possible this could be a permanent side effect setting in just like the hairloss has?
My skin issues started happening last May ( already one year + off accutane) - I Did not experience dryness throughout the course.
I am watching my skin dry our like an old boot, deep wrinkles are forming and theres nothing I can do this is devastating on top of the hairloss..please help guys :'(

You sir, are a wise man. I could never disrespect my body to that degree. Great, your acne is out of sight (for the time being for most it seems), but your internal functions are severely hindered, your hair falls out at their roots and your body ages rapidly. You're only given one life, why risk so much for so little?. I don't tell people how to live their lives, but I do state my opinion only because I care (Believe me when I say, I'd stay silent if I didn't) and if this post can prevent people from taking this not-so-silent killer, I'll be content. Accutane is a lifesaver....as a chemotherapy drug, but ask yourself "Does acne endanger my life?" I assure you that will be a resounding no. It's just not worth the potential life-long sacrifices.
People entrust accutane to give them their life back. A sad irony for many. I do hope that boy rests in peace, that's another person acne has claimed..

Listen,
There is nothing anybody can say to make you feel better.
I'm sorry, and I have no idea how bad your skin and hair-loss are, but you have to accept that there isn't any way to fix this right now.
I don't want to sound harsh, because I know how frustrating it is and you just wish more than anything you didn't take this drug.
But you did take it and everybody here and elsewhere can empathise with you on that.
Luckily my skin isn't too dry. It's not the best, but I can deal with it.
Somehow, you're going to have to concentrate on something else.
Or else, you can ignore my advice and sink deep into severe depression meanwhile feeling all the more stressed out that nothing is helping.
Trust me on this, you're best chance of recovery is trusting in your body's own healing powers.
Eat well, exercise and all that, but without the intention of a quick-fix.
I can't promise you that you'll ever recover and be the person you want to be, but this will consume you if you let it.
Feel free to talk to me privately if you like.
I'm happy to offer advice.
The quote 'Life is what you make it' somewhat applies.
Of course, it isn't entirely true.
It should be 'Life is what you make of what you're given. Shit happens. Do your best to survive the shit'.
Sending love x

I'm so glad you said you are going to practice moderation; I can't forsee any problems. It shouldn't take any middle aged man more than a little while to control (reverse) baldness. I'm equally certain that an anti-androgen shouldn't make your fatigue and brain fog any worse (or induce further epigenetic changes).

Its not about how long you took it. Look at me , i took it only 3 months, only 20mg a day. After stoping accutane, my oily face came back as before accutane, as well as acne. Then in few months, out of nowhere, my skin got dry, the hair loss occured, and all the other problems. There are people who took it just 1 week and experience side effects. It seems as, no matter how low your dossage is, or how short is the treatment period, accutane could affect u in every way.
We should sue the bastards.
