In addition, taurine supplementation rid me of my heart palpitations andwhite spots on nails (zinc def?)

Taurine also improved my heart and energy, alltho no apparent effect is felt anymore the symptoms do not return. First time i took it was a godsend. 1 year ago i did not have any benefits of 1g taurine. So i think we need at least 2-3g. I take 3g daily and 5g every now and then now.

Many people take 10g daily. We could do that for a week or two to correct deficiency that we might have..

Do u eat liver and oystersevery day? Do u cook the oysters?

I have extremely bad night vision.

I wouldn't recommend eating liver EVERY single day but 1/4 lb each week is plenty. In the beginning you could eat more just to speed up your night vision recovery.

I rarely eat oysters but I should eat them more. I notice an extreme bump up in my libido the day I eat them. It's amazing.

No, I don't eat them raw. There can be infections in raw oysterslike notovirus.

Here's the ones I eat: link

I don't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure I healed my night vision before I even ingested oysters a single time. I ate LOADS of liver. I ate about a pound each week consistently. Be sure to get pastured liver. Although I didn't need oysters to help me heal, they are almost as nutritious as liver. I recommend eating them daily. Diet staples should include organ meats of all kinds, seafood & shellfish, vegetables, and loads of healthy fats. I buy lard and duck fat in bulk from grasslandbeef.com. Coconut oil can be bought in bulk from thrivemarket.com. I buy Dr. Bronner's.Avoid getting it off amazon as it comes in plastic containers. You can smell the hexane.

Personally my only issues that im aware of from certain veggies/fruits are histamine (spinach, tomato andavocado for example)and inflammation (potatoes, nutsetc)

Whenever i heal im interested in pressure cooking grains like oats to see if lectins are one of my issues, as thats apparently the only way to destroy them. (All canned beans are pressure cooked before being canned because bean lectins are deadly)

I actually have a pressure cooker and it's incredible. I use it every single meal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

This is the one I bought: link

Excellent video I came across detailing a bunch of methods for detoxification, EMR protection, infection protocols etc by the great Dr. Klinghardt, a world renowned expert on detoxification. If anyone has the funds, I recommend purchasing some of those products and seeing how they affect your healing.link

excellent man! cardio and weights. i believe this is the second step.

1. have the available co-factors to detoxify (taurine, plus any other PI3K inducers you want to add...Bcaas, TMG, etc etc)

2. lose the fat where it could be stored/or just increase the circulation.

while i believe most of our sides come from whatever is stored or messed up with our livers... i think some of it is stored in our skin, where it still exerts the sebum reduction. i posted a study a long time ago where you could starve yourself of retinoids, and it drops your plasma levels pretty fast, but it doesnt drop the levels in your skin at all. Taurine does migrate to the skin after supplementation.... so that is another hope... that it has the ability to conjugate it all by itself. but i know for a fact, that extreme exercise gets something that was stored back into your bloodstream!

Exactly, forget every exercise you did before accutane, forget every physical shape you were in before acctuane.

it put sucha huge stress on our bodies that we got resetted back to 0. If you feel you have the energy, start working out and reap all the benefits ofworking out because as far as our bodies are concerned this is this first workout in your lifetime.

But only if you feel you have the energy. Otherwise you will be using the energy it needs to detoxify.

My hair continues to look great and zero shedding.

keep up the great fcking work guys.

I've been following this topic for a while now and want to share my horrible experience with accutane. I only took accutane for 13 days at a low dose on 10mg 7 months ago when i was 18 . Since then i developped many side effect who still persist today. On the first couple of days i just noticed the more common side effects like dehydration, nosebleeds, losing hair, bad sleep, dry lips and dry eyes. But after a week i noticed my mood was changing and i couldn't maintain a erection anymore. So after 13 days i decided to stop taking accutane. 2 weeks after stopping the erectile dysfunction got worse and i felt a disconnect with my penis. I also noticed my bowel movements getting worse and i also developped tinnitus. It is 7 months later now and this are all my side effect i still struggle with today: Erectile dysfunction ( no libido, disconnect numb penis), weak pee stream,IBS, Tinnitus, feeling weak and dehydrated all day, painfull joints and depression.

If any of you guys have any usefull tips for my horrible side effect i really appreciate it.Because the doctors are saying its all in my head and it isimpossible that accutane caused this because i only took this drug 13 days. But after reading this topic i am 100% sure it is the accutane. When i told the doctor all this they said i was crazy and i should look at forums like this.

vitamin adeficiency lead to loss of night vision after just 7 days of accutane therapy. very new study from india july 2015.

took one month of 25k iu of vitamin A to recover night vision.

not sure if this was posted already.

also mentions in first statement, Isotretinoin acts on microbial flora and immunologic processes and inflammation.

so maybe long term effects on the gut (being isotretinoin is non-selective)that effects nutrientabsorption and immune function? maybe we should be looking at probiotics as well? or that vitamin a is needed for a healthy immune system.

That's interesting, although it would be good to see if the study had been done after a longer period since quitting accutane. I've read of a few people who've experienced night blindness whilst on the drug, but night vision has returned a few months after stopping without taking additional vitamin A.

I think I'll give a high-ish dose of Vit A (on top of taurine 3g/day, and will also add in zinc) and see if that helps with the night vision (currently in a completely dark room I have zero night vision), so I'll keep people updated if this yields any benefits.

Also reading about about Nutrients and the Liver (worth following the link below and reading this chapter in Schiffs - Diseases of the Liver), and there is a mention of Vitamin A toxicity;

  • Vitamin A toxicity.. is manifested by mild elevations in serum aminotranferse concentrations, hepatomegaly, dry skin, pruritus, brittle nails, hair loss, gingivitis [etc]. The capacity of rentinol-binding protein to transport vitamin A is exceeded, and the excess [vitamin A] circulates as retinyl esters bound to plasma lipoproteins. Ito cells are the major storage for retinol esters. As such these cells are increased in number in hypervitaminois A and can transform into fibroblasts, which produce type III collagen and fibrosis. Liver disease in patients with vitamin A toxicosis may take anywhere between 2 months and 1 year to resolve because of the prolonged half-life of vitamin A in the hepatic tissue. Discontinuation of vitamin A supplementation is the only effective therapy for vitamin A toxicity, but sometimes the liver disease progresses despite stopping vitamin A.

https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=2tIl51sVIxIC&pg=PA371&lpg=PA371&dq=night+blindness+taurine+zinc&source=bl&ots=y1uUTbUVDB&sig=zH2Vc6uRubn9jvfReYZdyHTOLOk&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj4o7_gxdnJAhVD8RQKHeOdArQ4ChDoAQhQMAk#v=onepage&q=night%20blindness%20taurine%20zinc&f=false (scroll up to Chapter 13 'Nutrition and the Liver' - pretty interesting read)

I know the above regards toxicity from presumably natural vitamin A, but its still interesting that it suggests it can take up to 1 year to resolve the issue upon stopping of vitamin Aintake. Continued issues indicate liver damage (potentially fibrosis).

If accutane does indeed result in liver fibrosis (scarring or the liver), or at least something similar, then again its interesting to see taurine is an effective treatment Reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) production decreases collagen accumulation in liver.

what about Vitamin C ? I know none of us have scurvy, but alot of the deficiency signs fit into place with accutane side effects. Plus it is a vital component of collagen and studies show the skin can be replenished from oral supplementation. it also affects joint, muscle, mental health, and a slew of vague symptoms if allowed to progress. I only mention this because one major sign of deficiency is corkscrew, bent, or curled hair. I have this all over my body. my sideburn hair is even bent. So whatever is causing this means there is still a problem internally because hair is one of the first things to show signs of sickness in the body, or shedding and ordamage because the body deems it the least necessary.

this is not related, but shows it maybe is possible to have a mutation, where vitamin c may be adequate in the diet but it can be prone to oxidation in certain individuals.

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/224769931_Isotretinoin_treatment_induces_oxidative_toxicity_in_blood_of_patients_with_acne_vulgaris_A_clinical_pilot_study

Isotretinoin treatment induces oxidative toxicity in blood of patients with acne vulgaris.

(this only mentions vitamin e and said vitamin c levels were still normal but only after 2 months.maybe after time this changes, also water soluble vitamin a is 10 times more toxic then fat soluble vitamin a)

maybe there are some mutations with vitamin c or it is getting oxidized faster then can be adequately used but without causing full blown scurvy.

Big, big stretch I know. but out of everything everyone has tried what about high dose vitamin C which would be at least 1500mg everyday for a couple months?

Are the ED problems real? No morning wood even? Can't get hard even manually? Some people say SSRIs cause this too, or is Accutane worse?

SSRI's cause ED through altered neurotransmitter signalling. Accutane causes it due to lowering hormones, damaging blood vessels and reducing blood flow. Accutane is much worse on the body than SSRI's. Those are usually never permanent and just due to the drug altering ur neurochemistry and or levels of neurotransmitters elsewhere in the body. And dopamine is very much implicated in erections, and SSRI will make serotonin more dominant hence reducing dopamine.

SSRI alters stuff that can be reversed
Accutane messes up stuff and if its reversible it can take years

My ED reversed but it took a lot of time and effort. 2+ years and a lot of money spent on eating and supplementing to perfection

ED is usually reversible though :) I would assum since you know what tane does to ppl, you would be able to accept a guy with it as long as hes trying to reverse it.

But i stayed single (i denied a couple chicks due to accutane ED lol.. 2 teenage years ruined), and now i can have sex 4-5 daily so its not a problem and i have a gf..

I feel you on that look part. I feel like it altered my look too, due to skin quality and tone being really poor and weight loss making me look fairly sick? And the paleness, but i live where there is nearly no sun and 6-8 months are snowy winter months.. I looked healthier when i was tan and had healthier amounts of fat in my face, i feel like i look like a drug addict due to the face being so tired, thin and pale

Ive been through 2kg of vitamin C in the past 2 years.. And been through about 100g of liposomal vitamin c (which is much better)

Its probably useful but not a cure, i dont think anything is a cure in isolation (and i will keep preaching this)

All nutrients are useful and we might require much larger intake of some of them

Self experimentation based on evidence is the only way to figure out what amount of nutrients you need. Dont go overboard with any of them, even the water soluble ones are toxic. Niacin can cause liver failure over 500mg daily, and a lot of the alternative health community promotes using several grams.

Vitamin C however is safe up to like 100g a day (its been used that high in hospitals)

Relentless, I have that gaunt, thin, pale look too. Any idea how to fix this other than exercise to maybe boost circulation. I get sun, but the tan only lasts like 1 day. Its as if accutane destroyed the melanin in my skin or something. I am thinking about taking beta carotene or astaxanthin. ANd the thin look, its killer. Makes me look like i have aids or am on meth.

Lol same, i feel like i look like someone that took meth as well.. I did use melanotan 2 and became perfectly tan and it remained for a while.. Alltho that is somewhat extreme so im not going to recommend it. Since i was big in the workout scene i knew quite a few bodybuilders that used it so i tried it as well, its not legal where i live though. And its injectable.

I havent really tried tanning that much but it goes away really fast when i tan naturally... Accufucked

Gaining fat in the face, skincare and tanning is all we can do i guess. Having a beard helps but big beard + thin just looks stupid. I feel like u need muscle or be fat to pull off a big beard lol

Anyway im not that concerned with looks just now, i will work on that once ive made more progress fixing the inside.

---

I did some research on alcohol for the sake of it (i want to understand everything and how it interracts with the body, ive studied most drugs even tho i have never used them)

This release of dopamine in the nAc appears to be dependent on an increase in extracellularTaurinelevels[17](which ethanol does itself[18]and reducing taurine levels 40%

I never felt any good effects from alcohol after accutane (it was euphoric the few times i drank pre accutan), now i feel nothing or i just get lost in a haze..

Maybe it was because of lack of taurine, and taurine supplementation might have corrected it.

It also needs glycine receptors

Funny to see how the most consumed drug needs taurine and glycine to accomplish its high "with both taurine and ethanol acting vicariously through glycine receptors."

If anyone needs an alcohol supplement stack:

NAC before, with and after alcohol

Ashwagandha with alcohol/before (it helps it lower anxiety even more in studies)

Vitamin C before and after

TUDCA and milk thistle the day after (DONT take TUDCA the same day as u drink)

Also this may explain why my taurine + glycine stack was so good.. Since taurine already acts on glycine receptors

Taurine can also act on GABA in high doses

U must have suffered really bad then if you can hardly get out of bed.

I was on 20mg a day for 10 months, meant to be 12 months, I didn't finish my course. Think u mentioned before you were on pretty high dose. Which makes me think, the higher the dose the more damage?

im still able to work but after work I'm fooked. I will need an hour bed rest before I can do anything else.

thanks for confirming that, I thought I had lost the fat in my face. I used to have chubby cheeks and now I look gaunt. Like you described. A meth addict. My face is thin and ugly

I want my chubby cheeks back!! Funny, coz I used to hate it.

Taurine, glycine, creatine, BCAAs, as well as zinc and TUDCA and colostrum if you can get your hands on it. These look like the most promising treatments so far

Just wondering, how many people took such low doses?I mean thats cumulative 130mg, which would have been <2 days of treatment at mydose, and having permanent sides off so little...

Does that mean this med either fucks you up or it doesn't, seeing tonnes of other people don't experience hardly anything, or there are other risk factors involved? Just an observation...

Yea, same question arises on my front.

Also many bodybuilders take these doses, have we looked into that? Why are they immune?

E.g.This guy who took a massive dose

about the supplements, probably add Low dose Vitamin A and see what it does.

the problem I have with Creatine is it also induces Hair Loss. Maybe a different form and maybe thats me reading too much on the internet but I wont take the risk before Im sure.

What about Rick Simpson Oil? What is the consensus? Snake oil or potential treatment

P.s. The 3 devils I want to defeat are

Tinnitus

hair loss

stumbling over words, im going to fast for words and I can zone out in a comversation because most of the time I dont fucking care. I dont care Im talking. Before I was very anxious and had alot of insomnia and these days I have zero problems getting into sleep probably because of chronic fatigue.

I hope with the Hiit exercising I will regain a great conditioning of the body and regain the energy.

about the supplements, probably add Low dose Vitamin A and see what it does.

the problem I have with Creatine is it also induces Hair Loss.

Yeah, I saw that guy as well, like this time last year. It didn't work for him quickly at all, and he was taking 160mg per day for a treatment last about a year and a half. He says he is re-gaining strength and stuff like that, and he was weakened, but overall 6 months post treatment says he has no regrets

Thepossibility to consideris that he simply is not natural, the amount of muscle he has for his age is ridiculous, and the hormones might have actually brought on his insane acne in the first place

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25068233

new study on reducing side effects while taking isotretinion.

pretty vague though. used combination of gamma linolenic acid, vitamin E, vitamin C, betacarotene, coenzyme Q10 and grape seed? which equalled less dry skin and redness.

I'm sure it has been brought up before, can anyone explain the science behind producing more sebum, or collagen after a night of ingesting alcohol. I know someone here has brought this up in the past . My skin is completely smooth the day after having even the smallest bit of alcohol....I feel normal for a day afterward and then it slowly goes away. I read an article that alcohol interferes with retinoic acid in the liver by blocking it's absorption. Perhaps alcohol may discharge it as well? Anyone? Shall we all get together and binge drink? Just kidding...

Can you guys/girls list some of your favorite podcasts youlisten to (health related)

My eyes are so dry that I cannot use a computer for very long so I rely on audio to learn, mainly.

Here are some that I listen to currently or have listened to in the past: [Edited image out]

Few of my favorites: ReWild Yourself with Daniel Vitalis, Revolution Health Radio, Ben Greenfield Fitness Podcast, High Intensity Health Radio, Underground Wellness Radio, Methylation Support, The Cutting Edge of Health and Wellness Today

idk still thinking about vitamin c. deficiency can cause dry skin, mouth, eyes. highly concentrated in the nerves of eyes and the brain based on that study i posted. So what about nerves in the rest of the body? nerve damage or malfunction can lead to so many things.vitamin c is involved in carnitine synthesis, which there is a study from greece accutane users become deficient in.up to 200mg can be 100 percent adsorbed at once. so would need to take many times throughout day. the facial flushing users get is because of nerve problemsand inflammation that accutane causes. vitamin c is involved in nerve health and lowers inflammation. vitamin c can also get into fat cells. proteins and the nucleus of cellseven though it is water soluble.

MY ONE MAJOR TAKE AWAY AT THIS MOMENT IS IVE BEEN BATTLING THIS FOR HALF MY LIFE 15YRS. IVE TRIED 100S OF SUPPLEMENTS. VITAMIN C IS THE ONLY ONE, THE ONLY ONE WITH ZERO NEGATIVE EFFECTS AFTER INGESTING MANY TIMES OVER,MINUS MAYBE LOOSE STOOLS IF YOU TAKE TOO MUCH. THAT HAS TO MEAN SOMETHING.

also how many of you dont sweat much anymore? this would be related to nerve problems as well

Vitamin c lowers the excitability of nerves in the brain based on that study. So what about the skin? where it is a major component of collagen.
