What happened to the post? 69 pages disappeared

lupus and other auto immune disease is when the body cells became too toxic and flushed away by the immune system. Correled ofc with a lack of true nutrients.

Hi everyone,

I have spent the past 1 1/2 researching for 6-7 hours a day 7 days a week trying to figure out what Accutane has done to me and everyone else. I am not going to go into detail about everything as it would probably take a whole day to explain everything I've read and how it all connects. However, I do want to touch on a few things I have recently discovered and am extremely curious about. I have noticed a few common things among the people who have gotten better:

Focused on nutrition (raw foods, juicing, alkaline vs acidic)

Healing/ Cleansing the liver

Accutane is processed by the liver and excreted through the bile. However, bile gets recycled time and time again, prolonging the time Accutane is in the body. This puts and end to the people who say it is out of our systems in a month. I read a post about someone who juiced for a month and all their symptoms went away only to come back 5 days after eating normal foods again. I think that is because once they started eating the bile began getting excreted and reabsorbed in the intestines thus causing their side effects again. I have also realized that Accutane causes alot of side effects that are similar to Thyroid problems. That being said it is well known that Accutane is very hard on the liver which is aside from the heart, the most important organ in the human body. The liver is even in charge of converting 60-80% of the inactive thyroid T4 hormone into the active T3 hormone. I also did some research on people who have hypothyroid or hyperthyroid. One thing that connects is in the people with hypothyroidism there experienced moderate relief from liver cleanses such as health raw foods, coffee enemas, and other various things. I am by no means saying that the connections I have made are correct but I personally believe that there is a connection between Accutane, the liver, conversion of thyroid hormones, and our side effects. It is well known that thyroid disorders often go undetected due to the medical fields last of knowledge and/or testing. Curious if anyone else has ran across similar things as I have. I don't claim to be a genius and don't want to argue with anyone if they disagree. I just want to get better and have my life back so please refrain from bashing my ideas unless it is in a positive manner and will help us all get better.

Also,

I personally believe no matter what your side effects are we are all suffering for the same reason, our bodies just express it in a different manner such as hair loss for one person and muscle pain for another. The body works as a whole, every organ depends on each other, especially the liver.

The thing that has helped me the most has been juicing/ raw food with coffee enemas and a few supplements like TUDCA, B Complex and Niacin with rebounding to help my body in any way possible. The only thing that sucks is that when I go through a rough time I go crazy on processed foods, thus erasing my progress. I say that because when I juice fast I can feel the Accutane being processed by my body (liver) and made into bile to be excreted when I eat or do a coffee enema.

Thanks everyone, I pray we all find a finally answer to our problems.

There are people who have had lupus like symptoms or drug induced lupus from Accutane or other drugs. I can say that Lamarr basically had lupus induced from Accutane and when hit the fan for me about 5yrs ago now I had a speckled ds antibody and tested positive for another test for lupus, but the others came back fine. I had sores in my mouth and nose, flushing, hair loss etc. However, low thyroid can cause severe dryness and sores, diabetes and mineral and vitamin deficiency also.

You say you "had" it. What did you do to recover or lessen the side effects such as the sores?

Also I have had difficulty swallowing for a couple years now. Throat always feels clenched. Could this be a sign of parathyroid tumors and thus hypoparathyroidism?

Has anyone ever looked into the connection between accutane and lupus? I've exhibited a lot of symptoms of lupus. One that bothers me lately is frequent, paintful sores inside my nose/nostrils. My nose can become inflamed and it's really uncomfortable. I see that's a symptom of lupus too. I do exhibit the rest of them as well.

Otherwise I suppose winter dryness is the more likely explanation. Reactions to food or gut problems related? Any good remedies for nose sores? hah

edit: does anyone else get inflammation or puffy eyes after consuming eggs? I just ate some and im wondering if I shouldn't be.... (also added goat cheese)

Apparently some have actually tested positive for automimmunes like lupus or sjogrens. I had symptoms that seemed like they fit with nearly all of them, but I had a complete autoimmune panel run on my blood and everything came up negative. I even had a lip biopsy done for sjogrens, which also came up negative. If you have the time/money, I believe it's important to get the tests done if for nothing else than your own peace of mind, and at most because you may actually have one or (potentially) more.

After that, you can rejoin the ranks here with more things crossed off the list and focused on other possible causes/benefits.

I am currently awaiting a full metabolic test that will hopefully indicate any liver/kidney issues as well as the PTH/calcium test for hyperparathyroidism. Will post once I have results.

Cheers

So, finally...i read last 30 pages...and I'm really exhausted from it.

I would like to sum it up :

for hair loss, i need to try castor oil

to heal my body entirely from my side eff. (hair loss, joint stiffness, dry eyes, thin-slow healing skin) i need to make Rick Simpson hemp oil...and take it daily or to try fasting ...or reduce my diet...

As I said previously I'm currently taking dr. Clark anti parasite program (it removes parasites and toxins out of body), which includes 2x liver flush.

When i stopped taking Selenium, my scalp once again developed dandruff and became itchy, so now i wash my hair with La roche posay Kerium DS shampoo and it helps a lot with itchiness and dandruff i recommend it!

I will try this supplement to treat hairloss http://www.vitacost.com/kal-hair-force , it has L glutathion, so maybe it can also help with my eye dryness too.

I'm waiting for my test results for autoimmune disorders, and i will also get my antiTPO check....so i will know for certain what is going on with my immune system..as i said in prior posts...i'm not willing to take anything that goes with recipe...just natural remedies or vit.& mineral supply. I must say that i find it very interesting that almost all of us took doxy or minocycline prior accutane. When i took doxy i had bad stomach cramps one and a half month afther finishing with doxy i started with this poison...accutane just finished me off...9 days were long enough to develop some problems. (sorry for my english, i'm not in the mood for spell checking :D)

Hey guys, I stopped accutane almost 5 months ago and ever since then have had fairly persistent hair loss (I posted my situation a few pages back). Oddly enough, about 10 days ago the shedding stopped. This lasted for 4 days and then it started up again. Have any of you hair loss sufferers had this experience?

I only had blood tests for srojens (twice) both times negative. I want to get the same tests as you too however.

thanks for the advice!

Literally nothing at all. Ate the same food, supplements, etc. I guess I haven't been freed of hair loss quite yet lol.

Found a fascinating document today, which includes a detox protocol that has been used with war vets, police officers and drug addicts.

[Edited link out]

[Edited link out]

basically it is about excercise, niacin and sauna as well as polyunsaturated oil.

Dr. George Yu talks in the following video about pretty much the same protocol.

____

I have looked a little deeper into it, I am a big fan of doing saunas and love charcoal (Dr. Yu is talking about it as well), however, the protocol seems to be linked to Scientology somehow, which leaves a foul smell. For some reason you find studies through google scholar that have been carried out using this protocol successfully at unis as well known as UCLA. Kinda strange. Well, sauna definitly works for me.

Talk about niacin, which brand, form and dose do you use? It is also a vital part of the sauna protocol I posted above, supposedly it makes the body release fat in which the toxins are stored, but I am not quite sure. I have had good success with using the sauna, however, I have not gone for 2,5 hours or more as they are recommend in the protocol, but am aiming for that length in the future. Also I never exercised before going into the sauna.

@tanedout- You still seeing benefits from the vaporizer?

Yeah so far so good - It only took a few days for me to notice the benefits. I've found I now feel a bit aroused just from a bit of visual stimulation. It's not like I get a hard-on as soon as I catch a glimse of some tits, but I can feel an increased blood flow down there and a tingly horny feeling that was completely abscent before.

I've also found that when masturbating I've got more feeling there, and definitely the biggest improvement is significantly better orgasim. Previously since tane it was hardly pleasurable really, but now it really feels great.

It's too early to say if the improvements will be sustained, but I'm going to keep vaping until I can get some oil sorted in a few months!

I had a bad experience with my infrared sauna , likely I was in there too long 2 hours or so , also infrared saunas penetrate the skin over 2 inches some say 2.5 anyways to make a long story short I reactivated isotretinoin had heart papulations for a day after and was dizzy for a month after , my leg muscles were weak for about a week it was a unpleasant and bizzare experience and reminded me of taking Accutane many years ago same sides but more intense , I was shocked to say the least. Over a months time the side effects dissipated . There is no doubt in my mind this drug does permanent damage.

Perhaps a traditional sauna would be better.

My selenium is working as always :D but...i want something permanently...i want to forget about accutane forever.

Have you ever been tested for your thyroid? I don't know what other symptoms beside hair loss and the sores you mentioned. I had nose and sores mouth. I sometimes wonder if I had drugged induced lupus which can go away. About a year later I had my ds antibody strand tested and it came back negative. I still though can 't take any sulfa or nsaids which lupus people can't take. Though I don't like prescription meds I did at that point get on Plaquenil a anti malaria drug and take b12 and Vit C. I was desperate at the time and in bad shape. I don't take plaquenil any longer though. I also stayed away from any acidic foods. My way of living food wise is very simple.

It also could be from the chronic dryness as when I got dx with type 1 diabetes and started insulin all my dryness, vision and most issues have gone away. I live by Chicago and this winter was horrible. However, a lot of autoimmune issues can have a lot of the same symptoms. Pm if you have any more questions. I was out of town so sorry for the delay in response.

Hey Nick

I'm in the same boat. The only problems that showed up on lab tests in my early 20's was low T and "high-ish" prolactin, but in recent years all my lab tests have looked pretty good but I'm actually feeling worse.

I always kept my fingers crossed that something would turn-up out of the ordinary so I at least had some indication of what to treat, and ...nothing.

Even treating the symptoms was a bust.

There just plain has to be some (rational) explanation for what is going on and we will find it someday. Hopefully sooner than later.

Hi all,

first of all let me apologize that I come back so late. I promised to share my RSO experiences but I was quite busy and found no time to log in. Unfortunately my experiences are not so positive. I did not tolerate RSO so well and had to stop it after only some weeks.

I was recommended to take a dosage of 3x5 drops per day. I started slowly with 1x5 per day and wanted to ramp it up over time. There was an immediate positive effect when I started. The inflammation in my face and the feeling of extreme dryness was reduced within some days. But the negative effect was, that I felt very tired during the day and also felt quite dizzy. I tried to increase the dosage but it was just no doable so I stayed with 1x5 drops per day. The tiredness did not go away and I also felt, that sleep was not so relaxing anymore. When I woke up I felt like a had drunk too much the day before. I have family and a pretty tough job. So I decided to quit after some weeks.

I know, it is disappointing. When the first positive results kicked in, I felt super enthusiastic but this constant tiredness was terrible. I don't know what to do now. I may give it another try. But i can not imagine, that it will be any different. People are saying the tiredness goes away when you take it long enough. So maybe I should just hang in there a little longer?

Please my friends I would like to have help, I read all 59 pages post accutane / minocycline flushing rosacea because these are the symptoms that bother me the most.

Flashes of heat give me a hard life, I also kinda evil to the joint, hair loss and dry skin.

I did 5 strong vbeam with purpura in 5 months, I don't see any improvement at the moment and I started taking clonidine since 1 month and plaquenil for 5 weeks, the clonidine helps me, but I hope the plaquenil is going to heal me like Lamar or I will try the mepacrine like him.

But please I saw that you know much about roaccutane effects I would like advice to cure my skin it spoils me life!

I took 40 mg for 6 months for miserable buttons in the back in 2008 and I did not learn...!

1 / propose you the sauna but, for me it's going to nie vasodilation and thats what I should avoid.

2 / I eat balanced, I cut quick lactose and sugar apart from honey and fruit for over 2 months and I don't see any improvements. I try to not eat gluten also for 2 week, but I lost weight and found over what to eat,.

I bought juicer, red LED but I stopped because makes me red, complement food, probiotics, kefir... As I saw no results I began medication to calm inflammation and hoping to heal with the antimalarial.

So, now, I take 3 * 0.75 mg clonidine/day and 1 tablet 200mg plaquenil and 1/2 Tablet 100 mg at night hoping that it heals me, also I take milk thistle, turmeric, red wine extract and Borage Oil.

Dubya...it's interesting about your prolactin and testosterone....mine were both hightened 4 years ago...I didn't check it since...but maybe i should....! but thyroid hormones were all ok....it seems that prolactin is somehow affected with accutane...?

There were several guys on the All Things Male "Accutane" forum who had slightly elevated prolactin, usually with low-ish testosterone though.

So, high prolactin does seem to be a somewhat common problem among guys who have post-Accutane sexual dysfunction, but there's no way it is the cause.

Lowered dopamine activity in the pituitary gland can cause prolactin to rise. Several guys, myself included, tried different drugs that raise pituitary dopamine levels and response and it didn't work too well for us. With prolactin well within the normal range, we still have problems.

Very interesting that you are a woman with high testosterone after Accutane. There was a study that actually observed lowered testosterone in women during Accutane treatment. Another study showed lowered levels of pituitary hormones in both men and women during Accutane treatment, so the elevated prolactin is a little unexpected.

I'm not very knowledgeable about prolactin's effects on female testosterone levels, but it has a negative effect on testosterone in men.

High prolactin typically lowers sex-drive in women and testosterone typically raises female sex-drive, contrary to what one might assume.

TRT is even being used to treat low desire in women with low testosteone levels.

My free testosterone level was over the top high last few times I had it checked, but I had worse sexual dysfunction than when my levels were below the range low.

It makes no sense.

I do believe many of the health problems caused by Accutane can't be explained by hormones or conventional medical tests, so we are sort of "lost to side-effects" and stuck trying to treat symptoms individually until more extensive research is performed on Accutane vicitms.

Still may be worth your trouble to get hormone levels checked again. You might find something you can at least attempt to treat.
