When you say you use a sauna what kind ? Infared / traditional ? I am curious ..... your right with the exercise that works ....

Hi guys,

I've been following this thread for a way so thought it was about time I posted.

I took accutane when I was 19 in 2010. I was on it for 5 months but cannot remember the dosage. Ever since I have suffered progressively worse symptoms. The main ones are:

  • Hair loss
  • Dry skin
  • dry eyes
  • IBS
  • sexual dysfunction
  • neuropathy
  • depression and anxiety

I've tried just about every supplement. The only thing that makes me feel better is lots of exercise and using a sauna daily. Definitely keen to try cannibis oil.

I graduated with a pharmacology and physiology degree last year and know the important role endocannibinoids play in stem cell regulation.

Hi fellow sufferers-

I wanted to drop by and share my story and difficulties in detail in hopes I share some more obscure problems, to find if people deal with those as well. In the meantime I will be reading all of this great thread created by Indy. If you go back to my post history you will notice I haven't visited much recently aside from a few post accutane updates regarding my perceived hair loss (from my recollection). It's now been just about 4 years since I took my final pill of Accutane (6 months of I think 40-60mg) and I am a light dude. I had the typical side effects most people deal with during the treatment, but seeing my face and body clear was so refreshing. In retrospect I have notice the decline of a number of things in my health the years following immediately after (1st, 2nd yrs).

Fast forwarding to today, I'm halfway to 25 years old. The physiological and mental problems I currently deal with are very debilitating. Unfortunately, many of us share these problems. I will outline the problems I currently deal with that I believe is caused by the toxicty or strongly influenced by the drug.

Severe dry eye, photophobia

When I got contacts at age 18 it really changed my confidence and made me a more outgoing, happy person. As of pretty much last Winter my eyes are no longer able to handle wearing soft contact lenses. Because of this I've reverted back to glasses and my confidence has decreased because my eyes are still always irritated. I have an extreme sensitivity to light. I'm constantly squinting because of the lack of moisture (MGD probably) in my eyes. I believe accutane could have shrunk glands or caused inflammation that affects my meibomian glands. I've had multiple schirmer's tests with fair results, opthamolists don't know what the deal is. Took restasis two courses (1 3 month which I stopped due to irritation when wearing lenses, only to find out my doc never told me they can't be mixed). Second one lasted nearly 6 months and an opthamologist took me off it. Might as well since I don't trust it long term.

I am currently researching demodex mites as a cause of blepharitis and going to be starting a rigorous treatment in hopes of improving my eye health, and eventually I am seeking a scleral lens fitting. I recommend looking into demodex because it could be more prevalent in accutane patients with weakened immune systems.

Dry mouth, nasal passage and throat

Mouth is pretty much constantly dry. I cannot speak for very long before having to force saliva out to keep my speech somewhat normal. My nose is always dry and feels inflamed inside the nostrils, restricting breathing. Throat is clenched and feels dry, irritated very often. In regards to my mouth, my teeth are also very sensitive and often feel as though they are throbbing even when I am not consuming any food or beverage. I'm worried about losing enamel and tooth decay from the lack of saliva in my mouth. Also to note my teeth and scleras are very slightly discolred (blueish/yellow). Potentially caused by long course of minocycline preceding the course of tane.

Recent gastrointestinal issues

Since around September I've been hit with difficulties in my digestive and gastrointestonal system. Very frequent bloating, from constipation and incomplete evacuation to sometimes the urge to use the restroom 4-5 times a day. Because of this I've developed internal hemmorhoids which I have been trying to deal with as well. My stomach feels weak. After many meals now (even with a new healthy diet) I don't really feel too well. Uncomfortable, feels like my body is struggling just to break down the food and get it through my system. As someone that has never dealt with 'stomach aches' even after eating terrible food, or consuming plenty of alcohol, this is not fun to deal wtith.

Fatigue, soreness

There was a point about 2 years ago where I was actually feeling pretty well. I was exercising routinely (weightlifting) and consuming protein powders and stuff like that. Put on weight, was eating plenty, had enough energy to keep me going. Granted I do recall some joint pains, cranial pressure while lifting, etc. I was in the best physical shape of my life. After starting my first real job in March of 2012 I have been, for the most part, inactive. Hardly do anything more than scattered body weight exercises. Little to no running. It's a bad idea to become so inactive and I definitely believe my job complicates my problems even further, ranging from back pains, fatigue, and eye strain/dryness. I've been taking a natural product by terry naturally called Adrenaplex in hopes that it may give me a boost. I need to get properly tested for adrenal fatigue, however.

Changes in personality, emotions

I'm sure this is partly due to my physiological problems, but my overall state-of-mind is not good. My position in life is great, but I am not very happy. I can't help but believe it's large-in-part due to all of these issues occurring inside my body, but I've developed a wider range of anxiety issues - primarily social. I have always wanted to be liked my whole life, but I never let myself get in the way as much as I do now. I have high anxiety in many social situations accompanied by self-consciousness and confidence issues.

I went from a kid and teenager who always wanted to be doing something to a young man that more often comes up with excuses to avoid various social situations. I often feel as though I am out of body, perceiving myself in a very negative light which ranges from judging my appearance to my actions. This in turn leads to people (probably) being turned off. My paranoia is also helping my type this paragraph. The physiological problems are quite the weight on me.

other various effects

-pitted nails w/ apparent change in veins under them (signals some sort of problem)

-poor blood circulation (ice-cold extremeties)

-change in hair texture and slight thinning (changed from wavy to curly, experienced T.E. while on accutane)

-potential intracranial hypertension

-more frequent allergic skin reactions resulting in strange bumps (often on forehead and chin)

-inflammation throughout body and thickening of skin

-feelings resembling mild arthritis in hand/fingers

-as noted on the first page, i've also experienced multiple occurrences of sickness (hangover) ready to vomit for ages and it seems like i have little bile in my gallbladder. Obviously liver related and i'm sure it affects my intestines.

doctor visits

Told the derm that prescribed my accutane about my dryness problems and my belief it is linked to Accutane. Well, you know her answer there. Did suggest srojens syndrome which I received a blood test for (came back normal). Yeah, in her mind it's totally possible for a young guy to get srojens-like symptoms randomly. I wasn't convinced from a blood test so I eventually saw a rheumatoligist for also. I had more tests, thyroid tests, all came back normal from what I heard. He didn't acknowledge the possibility of the Accutane idea until I pestered him on my second (and last) visit to research it in his spare time and call me back. The best he had to offer me was the assurance I would have to deal with these problems for life and sent a prescription to the pharmacy in my name "Evoxac" which I, in my head, kindly said fuck you and of course never got it.

I've seen an ENT about my problems and to her eye nothing looked wrong. She however did agree with me that accutane could be the culprit. Although it was little consolation, I was happy she wasn't thick-skinned enough to believe it had no impact on my body. I've also visited 4 eye doctors, 1 optometrist, 2 opthlamologist and 1 doc that specializes in various eye conditions. No thanks to them I have been treating my eye problems independently. I do a warm compress at least two times per day (check out gel masks that make this easier), lid scrubs and now I will be trying tea tree products to keep my eyes extra clean. I also have plugs in both of my tear ducts that don't really do shit.

Sorry for such an awfully long post. I still have more to share, believe it or not. I hope at least a few people can read this and give me their thoughts or share or mutual problems. I have a list of natural supplements I take, a rather good diet (i need to keep improving).......until next time. Just wanted to say that this medication was not what I thought it was. I gave it praise and it brought me fleeting happiness for clearing my skin. I'd rather have acne than feel like I am walking dead every day (no pun intended).

Traditional sauna. I've never used an infrared sauna so can't say whether that would be any help.

Welcome,

Glad to have another member with a relevant degree to help make heads or tails of some of the links posted here. Not that it's impossible as can she shown by many members here.

I strongly agree that exercise does have benefits, but for most it seems it's not a cure in itself. Seems to be a dose-relationship between exercise (specifically aerobic I find) and my mood and even the sexual dysfunction to an extent.

IBS wise I can offer a bit of advice. VOLCOM3453 (might benefit you too) If you are like most accutane users you will have undergone extensive anti-biotic usage and will most likely have thrown the gut flora balance completely off kilter! 'Tane could have been the final straw. In an effort to rebalance it try the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) or Gut & Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) they're both essentially the same. They're developed for Chrons, Ulcerative Colitis and antibiotic induced diarrhoea. You'll know within 1-2 weeks if it's working (even as short as 2 days if you're lucky). Regulars on the forum might be a bit bored of me repeating it. But this thing keeps me 100% regular. Throw in anything else e.g. some rice/bread/potatoes I'll be bloated, enjoying some diarrhoea etc. It's getting better now which is great. However, it seems 'tane has messed up other peoples guts in different ways JoBuchignagi seemed to be very fat sensitive and couldn't consume to be what seemed more than a couple of grams of fat at a time. Try what you like and see what works. If you've got any questions on it, fire away.

If you doubt the efficacy of specific diets, go check the amazon reviews for the SCD. The original book for SCD is 'Breaking The Vicious Cycle' by Elaine Gottschall. Sure it's not peer reviewed but it's still evidence of sorts.

Cannabis Oil seems to be the best bet for the neurological problems currently. For the others I'm not yet sure! I've read about people curing their Chrons disease with RSO and I've seen mention of the endocabbinoid system within scientific literature in regards to Chrons. Seems to be fairly broad spectrum. Is there any chance you happen to live in the US, either somewhere it would be possible to get a medicinal use card - or Colorado? We really need more case studies on RSO in regards to accutane sides. Although 2 out of 2 is this far promising!

Hi all,

my main problem is the dry, thin and sensitive skin even after 10 years post accutane, Do you still think, that RSO would help in my case?

RSO absolutely cures Crohns I've seen several videos confirming it. I think the real question is whether the sexual dysfunction, anxiety, and depression (all stemming from the same disorder) is a neurological issue in itself or whether Accutane just screwed our hormones and neurosteroids synthesized from hormones up so much that we have cognitive and sexual problems as a result of that. That is something that the PFS foundation is working on but the answer would help determine the optimal amount of CBD in the RSO.

@Roland I do think RSO would help with your skin. I think the real question is if you should apply it topically or ingest it. I would probably lean towards ingesting it.

I agree - ingesting is the way to go. I just need to get a hold of Rick Simpson Oil. RSO is illegal in Germany but I am already working on a possible source. And then I will try it and will update all of you how it goes.

The main interesting thing about (medicinal) cannabis for us is that it stimulate the nervous system. Nervous energy is what do action in our body, detoxification/elimination among them. With tired surrenals & low nervous energy the body can't do any action, he's trap in his own defects. Tired surrenals can cause sugar metabolism (& other problems) too. Long term side effect of accutane came from a congestioned body, a destroyed & hyperpermeable digestive system and mainly a bad intoxicating & acidifying diet. Cannabis is a great help but it's not enough.. you need to cleanse your body (liver, intestine, kidney detox by moritz or some other technique) & stop poisoning him with a bad diet to let your body do his job to repair himself. With low nervous energy the body can't do anything (especially repair), even more when all the energy is used to digest & endure the resulting toxicity of those crap enzyme-free/life-free full of toxins food especially: grains (specially modern wheat), legumes, meat, dairy, refined sugar & table salt mainly. It take time to get our health back so, don't give up and understand that it's possible but not with a closed mind & insufficient motivation.

Maybe what i'm saying will make some people angry (like always)... that you have your own responsability for your problems, but experience & testimony prove it's true. We can recover from accutane, all of us, there is no special person with special problems, all health problem have the same sources and are surmountable, even if they want you to believe that they are not with different complicated names and different crap synthetic treatment without explaining how the body really work and how to physiologically & intelligently help him.

Volcano- I remember you pretty well! Have you had any lab work done recently? This is why I believe everyone should have labs work periodically who have multiple symptoms that resemble autoimmune.

I have to be honest with you that I had a lot of the same problems you did and add a few other strange things. Anyways, I had always had really dry eyes since about 4 months after Accutane. Though I finally got to a Rheum who did the schirmer test which should 0% production and inflammation. I had numerous of labs, saw the Rheum and then bam outside of my thyroid issues, possible sjrogren's, then all of sudden the dryness got worse, red eyelids, blurry vision and so and then all of sudden by a fluke with labs after years of okay sugar labs I got dx with type 1 autoimmune diabetes. I had gone for almost a year every month back and forth from Rheum to eye doctor etc. Started insulin and I produced a tear for the first time in 4yrs, my blepheritis cleared also.

Also, Restasis only works for those that have autoimmune induced inflammation that results in dry eye, outside of that it doesn't work and also it is not for long term use, if it doesn't work off the bat then it shouldn't be continued. Said so by my eye doc. However, I don't take it and only did first off Accutane and wouldn't suggest it.

I am sorry your not doing better!

JTM88 - Have you tried melatonin? You can also try Cherry Juice 100% concentrated in water which a natural form of melatonin :) I would not suggest Benzo's that Assuie claims he takes.

I could be wrong but I seem to remember explicitly that on the Phoneix Tears website Rick Simpson explains that he does not endorse any suppliers and that he is simply supplying information.

Did didn't endorse so much as just mention it, seems questionable to just be able to order the stuff over an internet site that easily

You're gut instinct is most likely right. The only legitimate site that I know of that sold illegal narcotics medicinal or not was a site called 'silkroad'. It was shut down last year and the a few guys are in prison for it now, but apparently they made a good few million off of it first!

Hi guys.

It's finally time for me to post in this thread. Over two years ago I spent a long time searching and scouring the internet for information about the terrible problems I was having with my health, which I considered (as many of you do) to have been caused by taking this drug.

I can say that, whilst my health is still not in it's most perfect state (I don't believe many are without some affliction, whether they are consciously aware or not), I have made a HUGE improvement to my state in general. But I will tell you with certainty, it takes time for the body to heal from this poison, and patience is a lesson that is taught freely as a result of this.

Every body in my life has taken note of the improvements that they can see in my physical state, and my emotional state, and they comment freely! (those who haven't seen me in a couple years have said "wow! you look so different! you look great")

Any way, I will give you a brief overview on the symptoms I was having after taking this drug. I took it for around 6 months at a dosage I am unsure of. It eradicated my acne, but slowly in the year after taking it eradicated almost everything else about me! I was having SERIOUS digestive issues, where my stool was pure black like tar at times, showing I had internal bleeding. I had zero energy and woke up every day feeling like a zombie after 12 hours of rough rough unrestful sleep. This was truly the lowest time in my life- I felt as though there were no reason to live. My quality of life was so low. I had intense pain and discomfort whenever I ate, in one episode I had severe abdominal pain that felt like I had been stabbed and it was so intense I was pacing outside in fear questioning whether to ring an ambulance. I was going to the hospital and doctors SO regularly and they were telling me there was nothing wrong...! ha!!

They said my blood test showed a small amount of liver damage. I was having frequent panic attacks and constant anxiety, with attacks that left me feeling as though I couldnt breathe. This was terrifying for me. This whole part of my life was the most fearful I have felt- I was truly convinced that I was going to die. At this point I was convincing myself that I had diabetes, kidney stones or some other disease that I read about on the internet, but then i found all these people having the symptoms I had.

Any way- this is just a view of the time in my life and how I felt from this drug.

Now, the list of things I have tried and tested that are conducive for health and helped me heal (of which I am still doing to a certain degree after 3 years)

1. Liver Flushing. This is THE most effective of anything I have tried. The best source of information about this is Andreas Moritz's book The Amazing Liver And Gallbladder Cleanse, which you can find for free online. The liver has one of the most important roles in the health of our body. The livers functions are reparative- the liver has the ability to rejuvenate your entire being. Congestion in the liver is a major stumbling point for the liver's natural function- clearing it out allows your body to do some amazing repair work.

All I will say is that after my first liver cleanse, I woke up in the morning and for the first time since taking accutane it felt like my brain WORKED! and I cannot emphasise this enough.... I could think clearly for the first time, compared to the intense mental fog I had accumulated. And I looked into my eyes in the mirror, and they SHINED, the whites were so white and I could just feel the work this had done (the eyes are a major sign of the functioning of the liver- people with liver failure and alcoholism have very yellow whites of their eyes). I urge everyone here to look into liver flushing as this is truly the number one thing I have done.

2. Diet and lifestyle- Examine your diet. I know many of you have a shot digestive system- Liver flushing will do amazing things for your digestion- another suggestion would be to add small amounts of fermented foods to your diet if this suits you, such as sauerkraut or kimchi. These have done wonders for my digestion. I would highly recommend examining the amount of meat and dairy that you consume as these can add to congestion in the body and impede the healing process. Great information for diet can be found in systems such as the Specific carbohydrate diet, which can be miraculous for those with digestive issues, or allergies like gluten intolerance. I was MAJORLY intolerant to wheat and gluten- it gave me a serious painful reaction and sapped all of my energy- I would go pale and get dark blue bags around my eyes within an hour of eating it. Now I am cured- I eat homemade white flour wheat bread on a daily basis. But this took a long time to accomplish. Ayurveda is an ancient indian dietary system and I have found following this to be extremely useful- I suffered from a vata imbalance because of this drug. (I lost a lot of weight since taking it and my digestion was screwed so I couldn't gian any)

3. Your mental attitude and your emotional outlook- now this is the most important aspect of this to some degree, because without a change in this, you will never be healed. The first step is to put yourself in the drivers seat, put all responsibility on your self, and say ok it's time for me to be in charge of my health. Putting your faith in doctors and others and finding the shortcut solution to a problem is what put me in this situation, and it's learning from these lessons that will heal me. Having patience, being in charge of how you treat your body and most importantly is to love yourself. If you blame your body for having succombed to the effects of this drug or you blame yourself for taking it in the first place, then you are sending your body and your mind a message of hate and distrust. Accepting the circumstances that you have found yourself in and saying "ok, I accept this and i'm ready to work towards a state of health" is a FANTASTIC place to start. This gives you the power and the responsibility to heal yourself. Looking at your body with love and understanding is conducive to your health. More than some people would even realise.

I will finish here as these are three of the best ways to improve your health and life in general. If any one has any further questions about anything I have mentioned here, about any thing they are currently attempting or just some guidance on where to start with these protocols, I would be more than happy to help.

If there is an interest, I will write further on a few other things which are highly beneficial (some of these are a little controversial currently), and I am also willing to make some videos talking about my experience with accutane or any healing modality I have tried.

I am here to help! I am so thankful to have been given this great opportunity to learn from my experiences with this drug and I truly feel blessed to be where I am today.

James

It's not the most professional looking website, but it does state that they accept Visa and Mastercard in the members area, so that's generally a good sign and would insure a purchase against a scam site.

Medical cannabis does seem to be getting increasingly mainstream and is now a prescription med in a number of US states, and lets face it you can easily get most prescription meds online quite easily! I'm guessing if it's real it won't come cheap, and I'm not sure how they would be labeling it to get through customs...

Are you thinking of having a go at registering on the site shadeo14? If you do and decide to take a gamble on getting some then keep us posted!

There's demand for this stuff, so there must be loads of places able to provide it out there.

I am registered and got "accepted" for listing accutane symptoms. I just found out though, do a google search of the site and there are a few scambook.com complaints about cana-med.ca. This site is the-former-cana-med.ca so I'm not sure if its gotten better but its a lot of money to risk, and who knows how legal this is

I definitely wouldn't risk that much money on a potential scam that is definitely illegal. Also you don't even know what strain you're getting, % of CBD vs. THC, or the quality of the product. Your best bet is probably to plan a trip to Colorado.

I definitely wouldn't risk that much money on a potential scam that is definitely illegal. Also you don't even know what strain you're getting, % of CBD vs. THC, or the quality of the product. Your best bet is probably to plan a trip to Colorado.

Alright, who wants to organize a roadtrip!

Hi all,

Quick update. I'm still taking LDN at 4.5mg (4 months now) and have shown great improvements in physical functioning. regular bowel movements (also take super doses of probiotics), minimal bloating, immense energy, little to no joint pain, no pressure in head, moisture in eyes, moisture in mouth. still have dry skin overall, and continued hair thinning but the shedding has gone down considerably. I work out either daily or every other day, have resumed guitar and singing, and have my life back now. I'm still looking for the cure, but as it still stands, LDN has saved my life. I still encourage others to look into it. Just because LDN works to manage inflammation and symptoms, doesn't mean you can have a shit diet. I juice on a near daily basis as well, but I do occasionally splurge on some pizza or cookies. My main diet is pretty fresh and healthy. Only other things I am taking are magnesium glycinate, vitamin C ester, and D3. :)

hip hip hooray!!

Anyone have luck with the RSO please message me privately! :) I'd like to hear from people who try it for the tane induced dry skin. As it is i still drink tons of water and can't seem to stop. D3 and garlic help regulate it but it still persists. I'm sure it's also a result of my bodies reduced ability to hold water due to decreased HA too. I don't care about the science anymore. Just want answers.

Thanks! we will beat this! some have. keep that in mind.

James

Interesting, can you give a brief outline of a liver flush diet? I've tried the specific carbohydrate diet and continue to do so with great success. If all that is required is diet manipulation/restriction I haven't got a problem with that. But I won't be splashing loads of cash on supplements other than a solid pro-biotic.

About your penultimate sentence IndigoRush (the creator of this thread) was always keen to have people create videos. If you don't mind him sharing it on his youtube and the like to spread awareness I can get him in contact with you?

Hi, yes the basis of a liver flush is not a diet but a week long detox of the liver.

Here is a basic description of the congestion that is created in the liver when taking heavy pharmaceuticals such as this. So the liver is composed of ducts- there are two main ducts and many smaller ones- these ducts are the channels for bile to flow through. When the liver has a heavy load to deal with such as processing pharmaceuticals, there are fatty deposits stored in the liver. These are recognised as intrahepatic stones, but have received little recognition for their impediment of the function of the liver. They are basically a green stone, and you flush out several hundred or thousand of these every time you flush your liver.

So the procedure is as follows:

For 6 days you can drink apple juice on an empty stomach, totalling 1 litre per day.The malic acid in the juice causes a softening of the stones. This makes them malleable and more easily passed out of the liver.

On the 6th day, you commit to a small fast, which begins shortly after midday until about midday the following day. On this day it is important you also consume no fat.

In the evening at 6pm, you can take a tablespoon of epsom salts dissolved in water. Epsom salts relax the bile ducts in the liver and this leaves them open and ready for the stones to pass.

You repeat this at 8pm with 1 more glass or epsom salt solution

At 10pm you take a glass, a mixture of olive oil and grapefruit juice. The strong acid and the oil cause a massive output of bile from your liver- this bile flushes the stones out through the relaxed ducts and into the small intestine. Now you sleep.

The next day you will be passing many many bright green, dark green, black, white and beige coloured stones (mostly green at first). These are the desposits from your liver.

It is also recommended you perform colonic irrigation before and after this procedure to ensure removal of the stones from your system.

after doing this procedure just one time, I was absolutely amazed at how much better I felt. I have been doing these flushes for over a year and done about 13 of them. Each time I am getting less and less stones and feeling better and better. It is best to do this until the liver is completely clean.

In one flush I eliminated well over a thousand stones, some very large. In another I had only a small amount of green sludge. So it can depend on what your body is ready to eliminate and just how congested you are.

For any body- I would highly recommend reading the book "timeless secrets of health and rejuvenation" by Andreas Moritz as this contains all the information about the liver flush and so much more amazing information about healing the body.

You can read this for free here: [Edited link out]

(this link will download a pdf straight to your pc)

Also Crank, I will make a video in the next couple of days and if anyone has any questions they can leave them here or on the video and I will answer as much as I can.

I know the effect this drug can have and I would love to help as many people as I can to recover from this.

Thanks

I'm afraid I'm going to be the sceptic on this one. sad.png However the fact it has made you feel better each time, is fantastic. I'm interested to know the mechanism - perhaps the low caloric intake induces some sort of response similar to fasting which I can find literature supporting possible beneficial effects or perhaps a placebo effect (please don't take that as an insult it is a product simply of hypothesising).

The only reason I say this is because I've read a few books that disprove a lot of these alternative theories.

Here's a case study from http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15836886?dopt=Abstract

Extract;
A 40-year-old woman was referred to the outpatient clinic with a 3-month history of recurrent severe right hypochondrial pain after fatty food. [Note: Here "hypochondrial" means "below the ribcage,' not "hypochondriac."] Abdominal ultrasound showed multiple 1-2 mm gallstones in the gallbladder.

She had recently followed a œliver cleansing regime on the advice of a herbalist. This regime consisted of free intake of apple and vegetable juice until 1800 h, but no food, followed by the consumption of 600 mL of olive oil and 300 mL of lemon juice over several hours. This activity resulted in the painless passage of multiple semisolid green œstones per rectum in the early hours of the next morning. She collected them, stored them in the freezer, and presented them in the clinic.

Microscopic examination of our patient™s stones revealed that they lacked any crystalline structure, melted to an oily green liquid after 10 min at 40°C, and contained no cholesterol, bilirubin, or calcium by established wet chemical methods. Traditional faecal fat extraction techniques indicated that the stones contained fatty acids that required acid hydrolysis to give free fatty acids before extraction into ether. These fatty acids accounted for 75% of the original material.

Experimentation revealed that mixing equal volumes of oleic acid (the major component of olive oil) and lemon juice produced several semi solid white balls after the addition of a small volume of a potassium hydroxide solution. On air drying at room temperature, these balls became quite solid and hard.

We conclude, therefore, that these green œstones resulted from the action of gastric lipases on the simple and mixed triacylglycerols that make up olive oil, yielding long chain carboxylic acids (mainly oleic acid). This process was followed by saponification into large insoluble micelles of potassium carboxylates (lemon juice contains a high concentration of potassium) or œsoap stones.

Which I guess is why it seems every liver flush protocol has olive oil and epsom salts or orthophophoric acid and fruit juices.

Either way in the end its made you feel better which is great! I hope by posting this I haven't insulted you. I'm aware in the past I've jumped on people proclaiming alternative remedies and I realise I was wrong for doing that. I just want to be able to provide a balanced argument so people can make informed choices.

Careful about liver fasting too much. It damaged my moms liver a bit. I don't think what's passing is really stones either but what you are consuming ( oil) and if you tried to pass large stones like that I doubt it'd be painless. In moderation the fasts are probably ok but just don't overdo it.

Hello all,

Does anyone know what will happen if I take the suggested cleansing remedies while currently taken accutane?

I'm 25 and have been taking it for 1 month now and my doctor wants me to up the dose from 40mg a day to 60.

I've tried accutane 5 years ago but had to get off 3 months in because of back pains and depression. It went away after 2 years and now I'm giving it another shot. After reading through these forums I'm considering stopping immediately but I was hoping I could use the cleansing methods while on it and prevent the nasty side effects?

Thank you for your time and the help already posted here as I may be using it in the near future if I fall into the group that did not get through accutane unscathed.

Tim
