Anyone have anymore advice for hair loss? mine is hitting me on one side all of a sudden. head is super itchy, it's been better with gluten-free but it's still there. i don't really want to give it time because i think it'll get worse. I really don't mind getting a wig someday as wigs are epicly awesome these days, but i'd rather have my own hair, ya know? kinda effects my womanhood a bit....i dont want to take harmful meds. only things that have helped are topical antifungals...but the hair loss is still in effect. rogaine im sure was irritating my scalp....

What shampoo are you using? Look at the ingredients. If it says anything about sulfate, then it may be too harsh for your hair and may be irritating your scalp. If so, dilute it with honey to make it more gentle. I like to dilute it with water and honey and put it in a pump bottle.

Also, I do tea rinses. Tea has caffeine, which stimulates growth and is a natural DHT inhibitor. I take 32 oz black tea (or I'll mix the black tea with herbal tea) and 1/4 to 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar (to balance pH and get rid of dandruff and itching.) I'll pour it on my dry hair and let it sit for an hour (usually I tie a grocery bag around my head and go about my business.) If your scalp is drier, you might want to use less ACV, but mine is super oily.

After an hour, I'll rinse it out and shampoo as always, then I'll pour water with a little bit of apple cider vinegar in it as a final rinse. Chances are, you've got hard water, which is hard on your scalp and hair. ACV helps to even out the pH to your hair's optimum level (5.5), which makes your hair healthier.

Don't dye it, blow-dry it, heat-style it, or comb it while wet. Detangle from the ends first, grabbing onto the hair shaft so it won't pull the scalp. Sleep with it in braids so you won't wake up with tangles. I also have a satin sleep cap. All these little things have added up to less hair loss.

Take Saw Palmetto it works , Z28 doesn't like it but I do lol... it does re-grow hair I was shocked when I used it for a month or so , the only side

effect I got was that I was a bit hungrier than normal so I gained a few pounds that's it , didn't affect my sex drive at all as Z28 claims if anything

it increased it , but the hair growth was amazing and as a bonus the hair that grew back stayed , as I have said before I'll use it again in the

future. (=

Hahaha Gladiola is my favourite bloom.

If he wants to call me Gladiola I will refer to him as Z24 , that is a cheaper vehicle called a cavalier made by Chevrolet , and it only has a V6

not a V8 something Z24 should be able to drive comfortably lol....

It's been about 8 years since I had accutane.

During my treatment, I suffered a lot of nose bleeds and depression. Over the years, both of them faded. I still get depressed every now and then but I am able to deal with it and move on.

One thing I still suffer with is a dry mouth and hands. Before accutane I never had this problem. I need to always moisturise my hands and use a clap stick on my lips after using this treatment.

@Oligirl: No sorry, I am not. I am just another punk who thought he was being clever with natural supplements. What you are going through is really messed up; I'm sorry.

@Sbowlchica: You are wiser beyond your years. I love that you don't believe the tiddly-winkers' fable of a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

@Gladys: I am a Ford man first, then Porsche; and, I have some respect for most other things. My point is: I try to repect all the cars and human beings with spirit and some level of integrity; but you are beyond redemption.

I couldnt tolerate spiro. After two months on it with no noticeable improvement in my acne,I has extreme fatigue and low blood pressure--my top number was 68! Saw palmetto and spearmint do the same thing naturally without the side effects.

Change your diet. Trust me, it helps. And I really did use to eat a lot of fish (I was pescatarian.) I used to eat chocolate, peanut butter, and nuts all the time, but now on my low oxalate diet, I can't. Trust me, the cravings will disappear. And you'll feel better.

My doctor prescribed me 100 mg spiro, so I'm going to half it and do 50 for the first three weeks to see how it affects me. Believe me, if I start getting adverse effects, I now know to back off.

I have low estrogen, so evening primrose oil and peppermint tea are what have knocked out my acne. I'm going to keep on them.... I'm pretty sure EPO has helped to bring the moisture back to my skin.

Hon, she means spironolactone not spirulina. Sprio (the med) is a blood pressure med which incidentally lowers adnrogens in the body. Spirulina is blue-green algae which is a 'superfood" supposedly. I wish doctors would prescribe spirulina lol it is certainly less harmful than most meds.

Just curious what type of doctor would prescribe spirulina? and can you just buy this online in a good quality form?

Also, how severe are your symptoms? joint pain, heat palps, and painfully tired?

It is possible that your sebum will eventually return at least to some degree. It may take a year or two but there is hope for that. For now, I think its best to use natural oils on your skin/scalp/hair until hopefully, your body starts producing it on its own.

But it's the dryness that is at the root cause of all physical symptoms if we can't address that then what hope do we have?

Im sorry for you. Unlike most people on this thread, I was not left with extensive physical ailmants. The worst I have is skin flushing, sun sensitivity and a bit of hair thinning. But accutane almost runied my life, almost ENDED my life. I took it for 1 month at 10 mg and by the end of that month I was a suicidal zombie. I effing shot myself. I tried suicide 2 moe times after that...I was in a mental institution for a week. I didnt want to live, I felt nothing but unremitting dread. It wasnt until 3-4 months alter I gradually came out of that haze, with much help and prayers from my family.

This drug is one of the worst ones in history, especially since the joke is often on us--how many people have "cleared" their acne, only to have it return a year or two later? Along with a plethora of physical and emotional problems?

Fucking Roche, they should have banned this long ago for good. Thalidamide is banned, and "all" that did was cause horific birth defects which accutane also does plus much much more.. WHY is it not banned?

I have given up the hope, that there is a cure for the long term accutane damage. The damage on the body is so complex, that it can not be fixed with drinking lots of water or vitamin supplement. It is more than 10 years ago that I took accutane and nothing is getting better. The opposite is the case. It is getting worse and worse. It haunts me every day, every single day, that I took this drug. It ruined my life.

Thanks guys for the hair feedback. And @LivetoRegret, I'm not posting photos because I don't feel comfortable having people pick me apart and give me feedback on my looks. I know my hair is thinning and that's all i need to know. If you need photos to feel validated then i'm sorry, but I'm not posting them. I see what you are saying for sure, but I just don't feel comfortable. Maybe some day, but i don't see how it's helping anyone in the long run. I'm not going to sit down and take pictures of my scalp lol life's a little too hectic for that right now. thanks for your feedback though [Edited image out]

So what's all the fuss about Saw Palmetto? not to start a Holy War, but just wondering. it seems harmless to me, and i know other people have taken it. I'm not too worried. Someone told me not to take 5-HTP once and that was invalid information since it did help my mood and helped me sleep. I know everyone is different and I respect that, but i'd like more info on it. Google is a drag.

I've started taking 5-HTP but haven't taken it long enough to see benefits I take the time release version , a lot of people say it's good like you so I

will stick with it for a while , more info on Saw Palmetto here you go. (= http://onlythebestherbs.com/how.php?sn=630-4 ,

L-tyrosine is good - a precursor to dopamine which taken with Theanine to activate GABA, which modulates neurotransmitter functioning actually seems to boost my energy and focus, as well as lessen depression symptoms. Again, has anyone doen the Gerson Therapy? Supposed to beat cancers and rebuild the immune system through vegetable juices and coffee enemas. I read on another thread: a girl's acne disappeared after starting coffee enemas. She wasn't an Accutane user, however, Gerson Therapy is supposed to be effective for people who've already undergone chemotherapy.

That would be us we all went unwillingly on chemotherapy I did anyways had I known it was a chemo drug I would have stayed away no doubt ,

chemo drugs are some of the most toxic drugs Big Pharma makes yet they hand them out like candy to teenagers and young adults . Ah yes Big

Pharma our friend , not. Who is willing to try the Gerson Therapy and report back to us we need a volunteer.

Ugh, figured out the problem with Kefir. It (can) have a real high alcohol content depending how long it's fermented. Had some from a grocery store that had been sitting on shelf long time, very fermented, devastated me. That was Monday, still feeling the effects pretty badly. Ugh. Worst is over now.

I dunno! I leave you guys for a month and you're all biting eachother's necks haha.

Here's an audio recording I'm in (about Accutane) for those interested: [Edited link out]

I won't link you here, but if you search 'Stefan Lay' on Amazon, you'll find an e-book I wrote on dealing with depression (SMILE: Your way out of depression).

I've been doing much better lately.

Still get down of course, but I'm dealing with it better.

Feel free to add me on Facebook, because I feel like I know some of you as friends now.

I don't come here often but will always be doing the YouTube videos

Supreme crap. What a wrecking few days.

One of the hardest things to deal with is the judo toss from seemingly nothing. I get into this state of wondering what bit of food threw me off. But is it food?

I'm thinking the lining of the stomach and the blood brain barrier is thinned - or destroyed - by accutane. What then happens is a very sudden toxic build up and cleansing reaction. The last few days have been hell again.

Evelyn: Thank-you for taking the time that you otherwise would have been spending on a liver flush to intervene; I'm quite sure you still have plenty of flushing left to do, so hop to it. Follow it up with a coffee enema.

O.K. I honestly want back into the inner sanctum (the place where the hens roost). If I throw a lavish Tupperware party, and serve all the shakers and movers a saw palmetto berry cheesecake, will that allow me to get back into the fold. I promise to promote 5@reductase inhibitors without a conscience.

Yes sbowlchica , Z24 is a jerk and he THINKS he knows his stuff , but does he really if he is so smart then why did he go on two courses of

accutane , one would think that after one course he would have figured out that he was being poisoned hmmm.... , yes Z24 is really smart

@Lurch: I already told you it was beta carotene. I took the second course hoping to put any remaining acne to rest. I was fine. I would take the beta carotene as an antioxidant, with other general health stuff. The point you have failed to note (as always) is that once I experienced anything untoward, I refused to take any more 5@reductase inhibitors. You on the other hand, have a plethora of side effects (which you deleted) and you continue to play with your health. You then condone reckless behaviour in others, to legitimise your own untenable position. Grow up.

Yeah i guess the only way to deal with sad people like camaroz is to ignore them. Shame I can't focus on reading what other people have to say because of his useless posts popping out on every page. Anyway, seems you are very cleaver camaroz or you trying to convince yourself you are, but in terms of giving any sort of advice you are useless. All you do is showing off with fancy words that don't offer anything to anyone. Bet, no one even reads it. I definitely won't. Won't reply to any of your childish posts, either.
