I've had acne in some form for the past 10 years. Until recently, my acne has been mild and fluctuating in course.
On turning 25 I decided to start using retin a to'clear my acne for good'! Initially I used a 0.5% retin-a cream. It worked to an extent but made my skin dry. When the cream ran out I started using retin-a micro 0.1% - BIG MISTAKE!!
Retin-a micro made my skin literally peel and made my acne awful. The IB was awful, and honestly, it just made me worse. After 8-9 weeks I decided retin-a micro was not for me.
My latest treatment is differin 0.1%. It has reduced the size of my pores, made my skin look younger and has reduced sebum production throughtout the day. On the other hand, it has made my acne really bad. I've been using it for almost 3 months in which time it has given me more acne than I have ever had before.
I have noticed that when I forget to use it for a few days, my skin improves with respect to my acne. I would like to know if anyone else has had this exoerience???
I think that I will use it twice a week and see what happens.
I would like to know other peoples experiences on stopping differin:
1. Did you acne improve after stopping
2. Did your skin return to normal after stopping - i.e. does differin have any permanent effects?
Thanks in advance....
.
nothing happens, just stop using it, its like every other topical. 2 friends, and myself included (and my housekeeper too, lol) used differin, and whilst it did improve the spots, it also gave us like, 100 more. my face improved when i stopped using it.
how long were you using differin? any side effects after you stop? like oily skin or a break out... and after how long does the photosensitivity fade?
