I used to break out on my back when I was a teenager. My face never broke out. Once I graduated college, I started breaking out on my face about six months later. Since then, it got progressively worse and I tried everything from the store brands (clean & clear, noxema, Neutrogena, etc) to the really expensive department store brands. I started feeling depressed and I thought that people would look at me because my face was blotched with zits and scars. I read everything regarding acne and trying all these things I found on line and found something that helped dry out the acne. For about a 1 A months, every night and for about a week in the beginning, I used a 1:1 solution of organic apple cider vinegar and water and applied it on my face (pad on with a cotton pad) after I washed my face with a regular cleanser. The only thing it, it smells and it dries out your skin. I did notice fewer acne, but it wasnat clearing up my face enough. I later bought a new face soap and itas great. Itas Pure Soap from DHC. Itas pretty gentle and itas made for problem skin. I later bought DHCas salicylic toner and spot treatment which is also working out pretty well for me. I use the toner every morning and apply the spot treatment to any existing acne. I donat use a moisturizer because I found that it causes me to break out more. At night, I alternate using the apple cider solution and the toner because my skin was drying out too much with the cider solution. I also use the spot treatment at night. So hereas my recommendation: In the morning, wash your face with DHC pure soap, pat skin dry, apply DHC salicylic toner with cotton pad (donat rub on face but pad on your face) and then finish with apply the DHC spot treatment (salicylic line) on existing pimples. At night, do the same routine that you did in the morning, but every other night (or every two days), switch the salicylic toner and used the organic apple cider vinegar and water solution (I bought a small travel size bottle and mixed the solution in that) and apply that on your face my patting it on with a cotton pad and then follow with the spot treatment. My acne is getting better. Youare still going to have scars, but it should diminish over time once your skin cells start repairing itself. Iave been getting compliments on how much better my face is looking. It feels better because itas not as sensitive to touch. One other thing, Iave changed my diet a little by eating more fresh fruits and vegetables and staying away from dairy products and minimizing my meat in take. Everyone is different, so you have to determine the best solution for yourself but I figured this worked for me and Iam hoping it will help others.
