I am using 15% skinoren now. I apply moisturizer right after the medication.

Most people apply moisturizer afterward, so do not worry.

Hi, I'm new to acne.org so hello first of all!

 

I've been using Skinoren 20% azelaic acid cream for a bit over a week, initialy I used it alone but I felt I needed more moisturisation, so for the past few days I have been applying my normal moisturiser ( one that contains blemish reducing properties in itself) after applying Skinoren.

 

Is anyone else using Skinoren also applying their usual moisturiser on top, does this reduce the effect of Skinoren, or does it not interrupt the medication?

n.b my usual moisturiser is non-comedogenic and is specifically designed to get rid of acne scarring and reduce hyper-pigmentation caused by UV damage.

My dermatologist recommended me to put moisturizer before skinoren. I am also currently using the one with 20% azelaic acid too. My routine is to apply skinoren at the end of skincare regimen. I guess you should follow the instructions of the treatment unless advised by a professional dermatologist.

My dermatologist recommended skinoren in the morning and epiduo at night, it made my acne worse in a week, now after a week, all my spots have gone but the place where i had spots had turned blackish and it feels burnt. My question is shall i keep on using skinoren on it, to peel and remove the skin which looks dark and burnt? Or shal i avoid skinoren for few days and apply aloevera gel?

Please help
