Hey,

Ive done 2 normal courses, and Ive been microdosing with 10mg every other to every other other day, averaging just under 5 mg/day for the last few months. I started doing it just when I started to break out after finishing my last normal course. Luckily my derm is all for it and is very impressed by how well it is working and I can continue taking it indefinitely, or until other options arise. Side effects are very minimal with the most bothersome being slight lower back pain and general joint kreakyness. I also have pretty dry skin all over my body, but Jojoba oil is helping A LOT with that. My skin has not consistently looked this good since before I first started breaking out, though I still do get minor spots here and there. The consistency is what I love most about this treatment, because I no longer need to worry about when the acne will come back, because I know that it won't as long as I keep taking my pills. I just hope that that I can avoid any long term side effects.

Ive also done 2 courses, one 6 month 20mg/day and one 3 months 10/mg a day, for me those were ruglar courses lol, so ur 'whining' of how low dose that is is ridiculous :D kidding

im ona 10mg every 10 days from october last yr, when i noticed some breaking out, and i wanted to do some scar reductions, so i needed my face clear for that, and that why im taking this treatment..i did cut it to 10mg every 15 days for 2 months cuz i was pleased with the rsults, but come spring i got some nastly pimples that left marks, so i upped it to 10mg...blood looks fine, but im constantly worried that it will become worse, or sth will happen, this just seems too easy to last, looking back at all the expiriences...

im aslo worried shud i pause it during summer, cuz of the sun and all, what do u think?

btw, ive been doing aha peels 70%, ipl, sra, and microdermabrasion since im on this theraphy.

cheers

Wow, really? I would think that'd be too harsh for most people on Tane, so your skin must be super resilient. Lol 😛 I think you should be fine taking it in the summer as long as you use a good sun screen and avoid unnecessary amounts of sun. Good luck! 🙂

actually my skin is pretty sensitive, but i guess these are such low doses that its not relevant. i also did chemical peels, the one that burn like hell, whilest on 20 mg per day.

im thinking that the accutane sensitivity is more to prevent stuff from happen just in case, rather then being based on real danger

17 pills down the hatch! Lips are dry as hell, getting daily nose bleeds, face is pretty dry. Breakouts coming and going...noticed pimples dry up and go away pretty quickly. I think the IB is coming to an end. Low dose appears to be working as well as normal dose so far.

this is very interesting. I have mild acne (3-4 active maximum or eve less and the occassional cyst). I am considering 20mg daily to end it all and just get an overall smooth and even skin texture. I am really tempted!

I am a 18 year old guy, 74 KG, 6 foot 1 in height.

(It's so strange how we measure our weight in metric but not our height!)

My derm has put me on 20mg a day. I will start soon in 2 weeks and share my experience.

i took a longer time before all my outbreaks stop..almost like the 5th month...

dry lips was terrible..no lip balm worked for me and ppl tot i was having some sort of diseases..haha...but that didnt bothered me...thinning of hair wasnt as serious as wat other mentioned....till somewhere in the 6th month when i discover i was almost clear of acne breakouts...i discover my scalp started to get dried easily...and alot of dandruff...following that..on the 6th and 7th month..my hair starts dropping...

i stopped in the 8th month and buy now...i am almost 4 months after i stopped....my hair is still dropping and thinning..i just cant make it stop....

Hi all!

I've been so busy, I haven't posted in a while. I've been on 10 mg for around 6 (or 7) weeks. I haven't had any major breakouts in a couple of weeks. My skin texture is a bit strange, though, I notice my scars more, and some oiliness that was gone in the first weeks has somehow returned. I have gotten like 2 or 3 really small pimples on the last few days. Overall, I guess it's going well, but I might ask my derm to up my dose to 15 or 20 mg for month 3. I haven't noticed any shedding of the hair yet, hope this still continues!!!!!

Good luck to all!

Aliciany, your skin might be oily again because the Accutane is pushing oil out of the pores. From what I've seen, Accutane IBs don't always happen at once. It seems a lot of people get breakouts and oil on and off until the IB stops.

Also, I've heard people note that their acne scars look a little darker sometimes while on Accutane. I'm sure that will pass once you're off of Accutane - or, hopefully, before.

anyone on a low dose who wants to share their experiences. I'm on 10 mg/day and I'm 55kg. Started on 30mg but went down to 10mg when I got a horrible IB. I'm 2,5 month into the treatment now, and I hope to clear up soon:)

Love to hear your thoughts:)

I am. I am on 10 mgs a day. I am on day 22. I weigh 105 pounds. ..Think that's 46-48 kgs.

I'm doing ok. Oil on face is gone, but my hair has a tendency to be oily still. A few active pimples.

I have a tane log if you want to check it out...

I was on 20mg/day for 8 months and I am 45kg. I'm post-tane for 1 year and 2 months now and results were great. No IB, very little dry skin and lips and some fatigue was all I had and they somehow disappeared after a month. Do PM me if you have any questions, I will be happy to help!

thank you for sharing!! just wanted to clarify... you experienced significant hair shedding from taking accutane 10mg/day? isn't that a very low dose? has anyone else here experienced hair shedding from such a low dose?

Well not really, I was lucky that my course was smooth sailing, no IB and bad side effects, my skin cleared up by week 2 which was amazing. The ups and downs that I had was sometimes my skin will suddenly get oily and the dry skin and lips come and go at different times. But things sort of stabilised by the end of the first or second month. Read my log and you will understand.

im on 20mg's. ive been on it a week now. ive no idea how long my course will be though cause ive got to go back for more every month, and have tests before they'll give me my next batch.

its my second course, i took a 4/5 course in 05 i think it was. it cleared me but eventually came back, back on it now though, and feeling a bit down, cause im getting a lot of whiteheads at the moment, i just hope it doesnt get too bad bringing everything to the surface cause thats going to be hard for me to deal with, with work and all.

possibly it hasnt helped that my hormones are all over the place cause ive went on the pill (and have been having mood swings and getting emotional left, right and centre), had to stop my anti biotics cold turkey the day before i started the accutane my derm ordered, and then the accutane is known for giving bad initial breakouts, so i feel like my skin is all over the place atm.

one thing i forgot was how dry youre lips and corners of youre mouth get, ive only been on 7 days and already my lips are dry as hell. anyway, cant wait for my skin to calm down *fingers crossed*

I'm almost 3 months into 10mg/day and it definitely does not work as well as 40-80mg/day. My skin is still a bit oily and I get a couple of pimples per week (the big painful kind!).

Im currently on 10mg of accutane that I ordered off * with a perscription and I am experiencing abdominal swelling mildly but thats it really I feel that a little swelling is worth having clear skin I have been taking it for four days and my skin actually believe it or not is almost completly cleared up in four days wow im really happy and confident that after about another week im gonna just stop it all together seeing as to the fact that its not healthy to order pills * and its not healthy to self medicate but i suffered with acne too long to really care anymore about anything else I feel that it drains you of seratonin levels which make you happy so I strongly suggest nobody should roll while on this because your seratonin is draining as your taking this it might make you more depressed then just a little its not safe ordering it *** so dont do it.......but then again if you look at pills these days lots of them have side effects so other pill companies benafit from them purpusly making problems for you * the government and ever notice how fatty food is cheaper then healthy food becuase our government wants us to be fat and relient on the government ever notice how it cost less to mass produce vegtables then bags of fatty meat from mc danolds but yet they charge more for the healthy stuff well think people ask lots of questions its what they dont want you to do thats why the offer a wide range of pills that make you stop thinking and start being like everyone else they want to control us so were all the same hence why its so easy to get on bipolar meds and we demand it just what they wanted so we are controled and we ask for it , think for your selfs people and ask questiong always!!!!
