Przn go on your second course of tane, i have never said this but i actually hope you experience one of tanes side effects. You are leading people to believe this drug is far safer than it is, that in itself is not right. So yeah go take your second course of accutane and i will see you in a few months.
That made me LOL. Feeling the love.
I would go on it, but I'm doing things in life now that I can't afford super dry sensitive skin.
you are a jackass.
i am just popping in once more. i am excited to see that some of you are starting to see improvement. i am still waiting for results of any kind... its still as lame as before. i will wait some more before i decide to take medication of any kind for it... i belelive thats the smartest route.

I hear you, bud. Tane was definitely my last go around with medications, lol.
Update, 3 months post Roaccutane.
I did not feel like updating this month because this was the worse month that I have experience, by far. However, I will update for the sake of future accutane hair loss victims and let this be a reference to them.
I went for blood test and it came out negative, or normal (I believe this was the case for most accutane hair loss victims).
There was full of hope in the beginning of the month because hair loss began to slow down and I would shed 6 to 9 strands per day, at most.
All the hope fades away when I began to lose the usual 20 to 30 strands and things got worse when scalp began to get really itchy and eyebrow hairs began to diffuse away, and to make it worse, I suffered from folliculitis as well.
I have not started any treatments because all available treatments give only temporary result and it will not solve the underlying problems. The only realistic treatment would be minoxidil as it help by jump starting hair follicles to grow hairs and one can stop using that when hair begin to regrow if the main hair loss problem is indeed, Telogen Effluvium.
I still shed 20 to 30 strands daily. However, regrowth was none existed.
So here I am, still suffering from hair loss even after 3 months post Roaccutane.
Max u still have a good chance of recovery and your only 3 months post so there is hope for u.
For me is been a year and couple of months since my last intake of Accutane, and I continue to loose hair everyday. I tried Lidex, Olux, Rogaine, kenalog shots, vitamin supplements etc. and it seems none of them have any affect on my hair. I see regrowth on top but very little on the sides and the back. Lost a lot of hair on the sides, still have bald spots above my ears, and nape neck area is bald. I plan on shaving my head after my vacation and forget about saving the hairs I have left because it seems its going to be inevitable for me. I stressed enough from this and don't want it to consume my life when Im young. Good luck to all u guys. This drug is serious and I hope all the posts here can make a person think twice before taking this drug.
So i believe that my hairloss due to accutane has stopped however now I am losing hair due to other things. I have had a crusty build up on my scalp for the longest time and I believe that this is now the cause of my hair loss. The pores on my scalp are clogged because of the sebum buildup on my scalp and its causing the blood flow to the hair follicle to be blocked so the follicle dies and falls out. I've tried using all sorts of shampoos containing salicylic acid, ketocanozole, coal tar, and many others claiming to be "purifying". They never seemed to remove the buildup and I think that they were just drying out my scalp and making my hair loss worse, especially the salicylic acid. I tried using apple cider vinegar but that didnt really do anything either. However, i finally found something that truly removes scalp buildup! JOJOBA OIL. omg for the first time in months I finally don't have crusty buildup all over my scalp. I've only been using it for 3 days but already the buildup is mostly gone and I'm waiting to see if it has an effect on my hair loss.
About an hour or two before I shower I apply a moderate amount (several tablespoons) of 100% pure jojoba oil to my scalp and let it sit. I also then put on a shower cap and then blow dry the outside of the shower cap to heat up the oil. Then I shower with a gentle shampoo and then just condition the ends of my hair.
The jojoba oil dissolves sebum buildup on the hair follicle/scalp so that it can be washed away in the shower. All those other shampoos like Nizoral just made my scalp itchy and my hair dry but now I'm finally seeing improvement in the health of my scalp!
GIVE JOJOBA OIL A TRY! It can be kinda hard to find, I just purchased it at my local health food store.
guys, i've been looking at my hair line lately and it's really choppy looking...is anyone else having a really awful, unsymmetrical hair line problem?
i also think my right temple might be receding or turning into a "mature hair line ( http://www.baldingblog.com/2006/10/06/juve...ld-with-photos/ )" the weird thing, though, is that my left temple is completely intact. i may post pictures to get your guy's opinions.
i hate this stupid side effect. it doesn't make sense for me to be balding. the only person that's gone bald in my family was one of my grandpa's, and he didn't start losing his hair till 45. EVERY other male has a full head of hair, especially my uncle and dad. damnit!

Gaaaaah. If this works you ve just saved my life and I LOVE YOU Ive been fighting the same damn problem for YEARS! and just like you say nothing works or it just gets worse. Im definatly trying this! Thank you
Rebecka I hope it works! After the first day i noticed I had a lot of dandruff which i guess was all the buildup flaking off. Just remember to be gentle with your scalp, you don't need to scrub the jojoba oil will remove the buildup. Also after i apply the oil i turn my head upside down and give myself a very gentle head massage which helps to increase blood flow. And you really dont need to use a conditioner afterwards except if you feel the tips of your hair are dry, the jojoba oil really moisturizes your scalp. Try googling "jojoba oil scalp benefits" or something to that extent and there are lots of articles on wat jojoba oil does!
I also just started using Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo along with the jojoba oil which has a whole bunch of natural oils and herbs in it like peppermint, lavender, henna, rosemary, and a couple others I can't remember. Its nice because it makes your scalp tingly from the peppermint and doesnt have any harsh chemicals in it. I got that at my hair salon. Just make sure you use a shampoo that doesnt have any harsh chemicals in it.
Sorry for so many posts I just really want to share whats helped me so far!
Wow I used it for the first time yesterday and sooo much stuff came of my scalp haha And you are so right that the scalp feels so much softer, after just one wash, amazing!!! So great to hear that yours is gone now!
Ive also been trying to find a nice mild shampoo and ended up with a baby shampoo for allergics so ill try that for a while and then see if i can find the one youve got. Cant believe how it was so easy to get rid of this, ive spent so much money and time at the dermatologist for this. Hope more people discovers it because I know its very common to have more or less flakey scalp.

Hey David
I had to reply on this post because i feel like me and you have been going through this for ages and we have both been around here for a long time...
Anyway it is funny you should mention the left temple still being intack, nearly everyone with this i speak to, that has had it for a long while says that there left temple is solid, same goes for me, but my hairline like you say is so choppy it is unreal...
Anyway me and a long term sufferer of this problem (he's been loosing hair for 8 years) have come to a pretty solid conclusion as to why men get recession from this tane induced hairloss and it is based on one of the only studies into retinoid hairloss, it has nothing to do with genetic male pattern baldness, or genetics at all for that matter....
We do have diffuse AA, but it is initiated slightly differently than normal and the reason for the recession is due to TGF beta/ TGF beta 2. The reason why MOST females don't get much in the way of recession is that estrogen protects against the effects of tgf beta2, but on the temples/hairline of men we have follicles that are very open to damage from tgf beta 2, we also don't have the estrogen which as i said protects against the damage.
He has been using the activ-m for a while now and has noticed some regrowth on the temples and a hault in his recession. Activ m contains a few things that block tgf beta/TGF beta 2.
I am going to take all we have put together and see if Dr Chu can get me some form of TGF beta antagonist/blocker. SHould be interesting if there is one available, tamoxifen is another option that can be looked into but i would preffer a topical.
Anybody else notice their eyelashes really thinning out too? I already noticed they were shedding a little more, but damn this shit is getting ridiculous...
Mine got really thin then stopped falling out when i used minoxidil on my scalp...strange i know. I stopped using the minox coz it caused problems with other tane sides. The eyelashes and brows commence shedding soon after. But at the moment my eyelashes and brows aren't doing to bad, i loose a little more than usual but i can live with it.
Honestly you guys if you havent done heavy resistance training before you should. It will help your hairloss alot.
Heavy training is known to be a potent anti inflammatory and it also supresses the immune system (alopecia areata is an auto immune condition).
Anyway i think your lashes will improve given time.
To thili.... it can go either way, i can tell you that it is unlikely the loss will stay as bad as it is for you right now if you are early into the hairloss.
Hi thili55,
I think you should be ok if you did not experience scalp pain and itchiness. I lost most of my hairs when scalp itchiness flare-up and this may indicate that I'm suffering from auto immune disorder like Diffuse Alopecia Areata.
Hey Mark,
Do you have any article that prove that heavy training suppress the immune system? Because I'm interested in that and figure that I can't save my hair then I must as well focus on my face and body.
Hey Jessie,
It is very difficult to tell when hair loss will stop and regrow. All I can say is if you're experience only hair loss then you should be fine within 6 mths, but if you experience side effects like scalp pain, scalp itchiness and eczema then most likely your immune system may have been mess up and hair loss may persist.
hi max...thanks for the reply
means by 6 months and it still doesnt stop, the hairloss will be forever?
yeah the scalp inflammation n itch is there since i stop but for 6 months....this month is the 7 month but since last month the inflammation n itch has subsided a lot...only will get it when im stress out ....does that means it can get better or it wont? so far im not aware of any regrowth of hair...
Hi Jessie,
The 6 mths time frame was meant for Telogen Effluvium. But since you're suffering from inflammation as well then it is very difficult to tell when your hair loss problem is going to subside and you might be suffering from some form of auto immunity rather than Telogen Effluvium.
You may try to contact this lady call Jade from the link below because I believe it took her more than a year to have her problem rectified.
[Edited link out]
People with no other side effects can recover anything up to two years post tane. Any longer than that then chances are it's going to persist for life, or atleast a very long time.
People don't seem to understand that the problem is constant shedding, not really regrowth. If your hair stops shedding its normally just time until it regrows again...
Max buddy the immunosupression is something i always used to experience when resistance training before accutane, it always made me ill much more frequently and i always wondered why.
So i did some research and found the heavy resistance training does indeed cause immuno supression. So for me and a few others that have contacted me they say resistance training is almost like being on steroids to supress the inflammation...Give it a try im sure you will find the same!!
I suppose you should know what is normal. For example, I now shed about 20 to 40 strands every single day which is "Normal" to most people but not normal to me since I hardly even shed a single strand while I was showering prior to this hair loss problem.
Although bro lamarr stated that constant hair shedding was the main problem for our hair loss but I believe that regrowth is also a problem since some of us have little to no regrow at all and this in turn causes imbalance between hair loss vs. hair regrowth.
