Take up to 5grams a day, they say the more you take more benefit you get. Pease ensure you are getting the other b vitamins though. as not taking the others can put the balance out of wack in some cases...
I would like to know the true thoughts of many of you who I am sure have scoured the internet about accutane hair loss, because I sure have. I have read some disheartening stories, but do you guys believe that these are very rare and the by looking on internet forums we are getting an unfair representation, or do you believe permanent hair loss from accutane is something that is prevalent and something we all could likely be facing?
All i'm gonna say SW is that yeah it is possible, but if you feel you have no underlying problems, e.g. lupus, vasculitus, male pattern baldness etc I'm 99.9% confident you guys will recover. I think i have more like a 30% chance of recovery as there really is something funny going on with my body....
As already said i think accutane hairloss can just take longer to recover from, and by the time people have recovered they don't bother posting anymore...
Lamarr- I don't believe I have any other symptoms really. I have been pretty fatigued lately I think, which could be adrenal fatigue like others have mentioned, but it may just be because I've been staying up too late. I personally think you are being too harsh on your self and believe you have just as good a shot at recovery as the rest of us. You said that you are seeing plenty of regrowth, so as soon as the shedding slows down you will be all good.
Another thing though is cases with MPB, even if the hair gets thinner, the shedding should stop, right? It is interesting because I have read some experiences online where people say their shedding has never stopped.
sw_cub, yeah i've read about some of that, but i believe its rare. are you using minox? if so which what brand are you using, this is a question for all you guys..whos using minox? and is it helping?
No I'm not using minox. The main reason is that I heard it can cause an additional shed, which I don't want because I want to be able to tell exactly when my accutane shedding stops.
what do you mean that you recovered david is your hair fully back or what? and lamarr 5GRAMS? a day isn't that too much, just like accutane which is accessive vitamin a, won't accessive biotin be just as bad? how much is too much with biotin?
i think you mean rudolph?
i'm still losing hair, but i don't think it's enough to make my hair worse off. i think i've come to a point where my regrowth has matched my shedding or something.

I'm letting mine run it's course for a lil while yet... i hope minox will help slow my shedding down when i do decide to use it though...
jonnychimpo said:ive taken accutane for 5 months 40mg. its been a year and a half since ive been off accutane and i see a significant amount of hairloss. ive lost maybe about 70% of my hair, and what used to be very thick and fullof volume is now flimsy and weak. i can literally see my scalp. my hair is extremely soft now because of accutane. i am pretty confident that its not some other factor becuase i am only 18 years old and neither my mothers side nor fathers side have a history of baldness. i knew that accutane would thin my hair, but not to this extent. this is ridiculous. if i knew that it would cause me to lose my hair, i would have never ever taken this acne med. hair>acne easily. DONT TAKE ACCUTANE IF U LIKE UR HAIR. only take accutane if ur willing to give up your hair for acne, which is something that can be managed if you use the right products. i swear, i want to sue the makers of accutane. many more have experienced what i have, this is proof that accutane not only dramatically thins your hair, but causes men and women to lose their hair, sometimes PERMANENTLY. of course it may not affect everyone, people are different, but many do experience hair loss. DONT TAKE IT DONT TAKE IT DONT TAKE IT!! just aint worth the risk. check out the links to find out more[Edited link out]

its sad how doctors will F people over as long as they get payed for selling some drug thatll ruin a persons life. my doc didnt even tell me that i would lose this much hair. its probably permanent too. sucks. i used to look pretty ok, but now without hair, i look like im some balding 50 year old man without wrinkles. do girls care alot if their guy is balding?
Few questions... Have you tried minoxidil or anything and also, do you see significant shedding daily or has it been a normal rate of loss but no regrowth?
Just to let you guys know my plan of action... I will be waiting until the 8 month mark of shedding, i've currently been shedding for nearly 6 months and the shedding is showing no signs of slowing... booohooo right...
well i plan on shaving it when it gets really noticable, as my hairline hasn't receeded much people won't be able to tell i've lost alot of hair... I will then begin using minox and copper peptides, i believe the minox will dialate the cappilaries if vasculitus is the issue and if inflamation is present for any other reason the copper peptides should help... i may even look into a mild cortizine/minox combo as i believe inflamation is often a major issue in accutane hairloss...
I have a bit of a party trick with my hair at the moment... when i feel an itch on my scalp i call the attention of a friend or family member, i can then proceed to pull several hairs (very easily) from the area that itches lol... i can even just brush the area lightly and several will fall out, i have another Drs appointment on tuesday so will be asking for a biopsy of my scalp, i think if inflamation is present i need to start takling the problem now...
I'm not sure buddy, but i will be using the anti inflamatory method, e.g. things like nizoral (already use), emu oil, copper peptides and minox with mild cortizone....not much else we can do buddy. I also take large amounts of fish oil, have been for about 3 months now and it doesn't seem to be helping!! I dunno about you but my hair isn't overly dry, so i can rule out lack of sebum being an issue, it is either TE (chronic or normal) or some sort of inflamatory process has occured for whatever reason e.g. vasculitus. So i would cover all avenues with my treatment ideas....
im about two weeks away from starting my accutane treatment. but this thread is soooooo freaking me out. it's the most replied thread in the accutane section!!
i almost wanna pull out of going on accutane and maybe just stick with the retins and wait til i grow out of it, if ever lol. but if it comes down to it, i'll take baldness over acne any day. im just afraid i'd lose my hair AND the acne doesnt go into remission. that would just be really cruel.
