i just looked at the top part on my head and there were a few hairs that i noticed that were between 1-3cm long. they are causing a lot of frizz on top of my head. is it possible that this is regrowth from a few months ago? i only saw a few, but the parts in my hair haven't really taken a hit and they are still a milimeter wide so it's hard to really find any small hairs. there's also the fact my hair is basically blonde when it's tiny and makes it very hard to see.
I hope so, man. That'd be really great.
I on the other hand am doing pretty badly. I can now confirm that my hairline has receded, though just a little. I am less and less convinced that I will have a good resolution. But I do think that the rest of you guys will be OK. I just might be too old to recover. I'm going to be 24 in August.

does MPB run in your family? if so, when did they start to lose their hair and who were they in relation to you?
you know, depending on your income, you could always get hair replacement surgery to recover the hairs you lost to accutane. i do not think it would be THAT expensive since you aren't restoring a full head of hair. just a thought.

It does run in my family. My brother, 2 uncles, 4 cousins. A lot, I guess. Hair replacement is too expensive and I think it's going too far. $1 a hair, I believe. And they require you to wait a year after losing hair to something like Accutane. Who knows.
when did they start losing it? that's harsh. they need to hurry up and create a cure for mpb cause it's an awful thing to have happen. ;\
My brother started losing it at 19! Everybody else started losing it in their thirties.
I hate it that people think I'm crazy when I tell them what happened. My hair feels like a few straws of hay on my head.
I have no idea anymore. My hairline receded, but only because I lost hair diffusely around where my hairline begins. It's weird.
I just woke up walked over to the sink and started tugging at my hair with my hands for a few minutes and I counted at least 50 hairs falling into the sink.
Hey Rudolph, sorry I didn't catch, for how long have you been using accutane already? Actually 50 hairs in the morning is kinda intense.
My new roommate's mother is a doctor, and she has something called a Prescription Desk Reference (PDR) book, which contains all medicines and their side effects. In the case of Accutane hair loss, according to the PDR, the chances that the hair will return are 90%. I still think that one should be careful to account for possible lupus or male pattern baldness. But still. Good odds.
approaching my 3rd month post accutane my hair loss is accelerating wow I'm so worried.
Ive noticed something though. I dyed my hair darker about one month ago so now you can see my roots coming in when I put my hair back or make a parting. The interesting thing is that all the hairs that fall out don't have my natural color at the bottom which implies that they haven't grown at all and that they must have already been in telogen way before I dyed my hair. I think thats a good sign because it means my hairs arent still going into telogen.

Are you worrying that this will be permanent? (believe me it wont) Or do you worry that you might look strange for some time?
Btw when I made a reaserch about hair loss in these forums, all people that posted topics like "accutane destroyed my hair permanently" came back here after a while (6-24 months after) and told that their hair came back to normal. You'll be fine, believe me. It might actually take longer but you will have all your hair back.
Oh and by the way, I read somewhere that messing with your hair all the time (I mean checking every 10 minutes how much hair you lost) can cause some unwanted consequences later on. Im the one like you obssesed about my hair and I am trying to stop this habbit of pulling my hair out all the time.

havent you been shedding since last year?
God I feel like crying when I see this pic of my hair 4 months ago. It was so thick. I took it for granted but I knew my hair was my best attribute. I miss it so much. A part of me died. I've been rubbing my hands through my hair a lot today. I must have lost about 200 or more so far.
Then again I can be optimistic by taking a look at my pubic hair region and seeing how much it has thinned but now it has many short light colored hair growing back in. Because the hair phases for pubic hairs is much shorter than for scalp hairs maybe this can be a sign of things to come.

Yes I had but my shedding was too mild to notice. I think I pulled more hair myself out that accutane did. And in that picture your hair looks absolutely normal to me (maybe because it is long). However you didn't even pass the 6 moth mark when accutane side effects begin to dissapear. Just give it more time.
yea Rudolph, I started to lose hair after my 5th month on accutane. And like 2 weeks in the accutane I noticed my hair changing texture. But good news I've noticed my hair getting more fuller lately, before i would be able to see my scalp almost completely now I can bearly see it, so far I've been off acctutane for about 5 months and am still losing hair but not as much as before, I am taking biotin, flax seed oil with omega3 fatty acids and shampoo every 4 days with a regular shampoo that has b vitamins. the bumps on my head are a good sign to me, because that means my hair is becoming more oily and thus my side effects of accutane are dissapearing, can't have pimples without eccess oil. I dont know thats just my speculation why I see the few pimples on my head as a good thing.
*edit : how long have you been off accutane rudolph, david, Baravykas, mypoorhair

2.5 months, so you see regrowth tho? I must seem like the most paranoid person to you all.. its only because Ive wanted to grow my hair to something like this and that dream is crushed if my hair falls out.
