You guys took accutane more than once and it did not cure the folliculitis ? oh god
I dont think SLS Free products will make any difference, nor sugar free diet either
Did youtryhibiclens 4% and it worked ?
I just don't think eliminating the bacteria will solve the problem, it will just create stronger resistance to antibiotics.
I have been using hibiclens 4% for the last 4-5 days or so. I never thought I would get so desperate to not use anything but chlorhexidine (from hibiclens) on my body. The first day I got it, I covered my entire body with it and left it on for atleast 2 mins. Every crack and crevasse!! Soaked my hair and scalp with it. Put it on thick safety Q-tips stuffed it up my nose and in my ears.
Every day since I've washed my entire head with it and my skin is healing from my last big break out. I've had no major pustules or spots appear since starting it. My face is still a mess from the last break out, so we'll see how it goes.
I'm not getting my hopes up. It usually finds a way to come back. I cannot get over how dismal this disease makes life.
Also I've been spraying everywhere with this Dettol spray - [Edited link out]
I spray a mist over my bed when I wake up, making sure my pillows are covered and tops of my duvet. I spray my sofa, all door handles, coats and jackets, taps, fridge door(!), mouse/keyboard, headphones - everything that touches me I disinfect.
Hopefully if I do this a while, I can ease off and just do it once a week.
For now I will be washing my head/face etc every day.
Going all out nuclear on this shit!!

have you tried to fix it? any effects on the pimples?
Hey @t0m, how is it going with the hibiclens? Is it working?

Its still early, but its been ok. I think I may have been over doing it a bit. I was washing everywhere with it, once a day sometimes twice. Which made my skin very dry and I had some normal acne!
I've since just stopped, currently going to wash with it twice a week or so now.
My skin isn't perfect, but its a lot better right now and I attribute it to the hibiclens. Its worth looking in to if you haven't tried it yet. Quite cost effective as well.
i know it is too late to post here. but for anyone who suffered from this hellish thing, please read my post. I FOUND A CURE,
i saw the poster on the first post and i tell you that was a way milder than my problem. i have the same problem but worse than yours, tiny white pus all over my mouth chin and bearded area, and it is spreading to all the hair follices i have on my beard. it is very disgusting and my brother told me it is like alien was laying egg on my face.
it destroys my self esteem. make me feel i don't deserve to live. i know exactly what you feel guys, because this disease is not like a normal pimple, it is very destroying, itchy and uncomfortable feel.
i am 26 yo asian men, with very oily skin and acne prone. i have beard and i shave regullary.
i remember i started getting this when i was on my 2nd grade of high school. and at that point i was still natural little boy with no course of medication/antibiotic. so i think it has nothing to do with antibiotic drawback.
the very first medication i had was trimetoprim sulfametazole, its kind of antibiotic, and i take it for a couple of months, the pills did control the infection but when i started to take off everything going back to what it was before.
then i go to dermatologist and he prescribe me with clyndamicyn, he told me this was bacterial infection. and i agree with him because it responds well to antibiotic.i take it for about 2 weeks, its doing great on my skin and when the pills ran out like any other antibiotic, the infection start again.
i think clyndamicyn didn't work. so i decide to take doxycycline. doxy did wonder on my skin, all the pus has gone and my skin look so smooth and flawless. but when i take off of this med, the infection back much worse. the worst breakout of my life is when i finish my doxy course.
i tried water only method, thinking that maybe it is related to the chemical on my face wash, but my idea is wrong, water metod only gives me dry skin with lots of dead skin cells and only make my breakout even worse.
i bought so many skincare product from the cheap ones to the expensive ones. some of them work and some of them ends up as a ornament on my desk. the only thing i haven't try yet is accutane. maybe i will take my accutane course next year. because this year i want to focus on dermaroler treatment to heal my pitted scars on my cheek left by the young age acne i had. i heard that after you take accutane, you should wait for at least 3 month before starting dermaroller. because your skin is very weak due to accutane. so i decided to try dermaroller first.
it is going to be a long post. but please read this, we got same problem and we are seeking for solution here. maybe my experience can help you. i truly understand how this disease destroy lifes. but believe me it is treatable.
the only thing i think work to stop the infection (based on my experience):
1. blue light therapy. i did it several time when i was on college, it realy control the infection and make that fucking pus disapear in one night, right after treatment. it soothe the skin and kills bacterial deep within your pores, where other medication can't penetrate. so it make sense. but it is costly, and it is temporary solution. you have to do the light once per two week. i think i better stop because it damaging my wallet. the result was great tho.
2. washing your face with gentle antibacterial cleanser and apply propolis and garlic extract on the infected areas. i did this method when i was frustated with my condition. had to save money. it helps drying up pus but it takes time. about two week and you will see the pus started to dry and peel as you wash your face.
3. and the holy grail item is..
i don't know how to say it.
it is some kind of ointment or serum i get from one of aestethican clinic in my city. this serum is my life saver. the only think that work to control the pus and the price is affordable. it is liquid and smells like onion. now i am in my 2nd years of this serum and i cannot get off of it. i use this serum until now. because i think its the only think to work now.
but everything has a price. i need to use it forever. yes forever. because when i am not using it for about two week. the infection started again. but not worse. i know it seems like a dangerous things. but the doctor told me there was no sterioid and antibiotic on that ointment. and i can use it as long as i need. so i feel less worried. now this ointment is my life saver. it makes everything disapear in just three days. i think i will stick to it for a while. i know it is not the ultimate solution to cure my problem. but at least it's saving my life now. because my bearded area is clear now.
unfortunately you might not be able to get this ointment in your city. but there is hope.
to end my post. i think i would say that this disease is very reccurent. and you should treat it for whole of your life. because we and maybe all the dermatologist out there does not know what is the root of this nightmare. and for now. i would stick to something that work to atleast i would say cure it temporary. but without getting into your system like pills did.
hope this help. sorry for bad english.

That's really interesting @gilang91but you didn't mention the name of this serum or its ingredient. Can you tell us what the ingredients are or the name of the serum? If it has no labels, can you ask your aesthetician clinic what is the active ingredient in it as that will really help all of us out. Thanks for your post!

this is the picture of the serum. i just bought three bottles yesterday. because my last one is empty. there is no ingredients list.it only says acne +.
when i visit the clinic i ask the doctor about the ingredient and she said there is no antibiotic or steroid in it. but she refuse to let me know what is the exact ingredient. but this serum is a pharmacy made under doctor supervision.
i attach the picture of my beard. you can see i am 100 clear as long as im on this serum. that is my bare face, i took the picture this night. i haven't take a shower since morning.
im so glad if its help.

I'm not sure whether it's the same serum we'r using (probably not), but the one that helps for me consists of:
Laevomycetini 2.0
Ac. Salicylici 1.0
Sulflur p.p. 2.5
Glycerini 5.0
Aethanoli 70o 100ml
It is made by doctors prescription in only one pharmacy in my city (eastern europe). You need to shake it before using and apply on skin, it has a bitter taste when if you accidently taste it. But as doctor said it has no harm ingredients and I can use it as long as i want. It doesn't help much with normal acne though (which i get sometimes as well), but it does help with those itchy bastards around mouth.
So far it's the only thing that helped me.
The only other solution I see is low dose accutane - it won't fix the problem, but i hear people stay clear as long as they keep using it as a very low dose (f.e. 20mg/week) medicine.
@gilang91yeah that does seem like a type of local product. In one of your older posts, you mentioned the name of the company is Larissa. Is that where you got this product from? I was able to find their website here -

Accutane is mostly used to treat gram negative pustules. So if you suffer from those (like me) then you can stay on accutane. However, these pustules can be staph related in other cases and using accutane increases staph reservoir in nostrils which can again cause similar pustules.
Does your lotion keep your mouth 100% clear of these putusles?
Im from Singapore and I also have oily as well as acne-prone skin. Like you, I have tried many different oral medications and topical products but I just cant seem to get rid of this problem - pustules around my mouth region. It has been more than a year that I have been dealing with this. I was wondering if your symptoms were similar to mine?
im so happy for you that you have managed to find something that works for you. Honestly, I dont think you should consider going on Accutane - why not just continue using your serum? I would happily apply any ointment/serum on my face everyday for the rest of my life if it meant I would never have to deal with these pustules again. Accutane is expensive, potentially damaging, and for many people including myself once you finish the course, the pustules come back.
it would really help me and I believe the other users on this thread as well if you could obtain more information about the serum that youre using. It could be the elusive solution that weve all been searching for. Could you possibly trace down the pharmacy which supplies the serum to your clinic? Or could you perhaps ask your doctor how people from other countries can get a hold of this serum? That would really be appreciated.

Can you please ask your doctor for the precise ingredients and dosage ?
This may help all of us here, and you must know how frustrating this disease can be.
You have to think about it, what happens if the pharmacy closes and you can no longer buy this serum ? Thats why you need the ingredients, and it is your right as a patient to know what medicine you are buying and using as a treatment, they cannot keep that a secret!
By the way, does it get worse when you eat DAIRY FOODS ? (milk, yoghurt, cheese, or even eggs)
This seems to be the case for most of us here, so we must keep a strict diet
Let us know.

yes. you are right .before i use this serum i use acne cream from larissa. i think its the same ingredient because it is also work well on my pustule. but the texture is creamy and heavy. it just dont suit my oily skin. so i'd stay on serum.
this time i got this serum from aesthetic clinic named Ella. you know in indonesia you can easily find many aestethic clinic in city. larissa and ella is two of them.

it is so hard to figure out ingredients in pharmacy product, because it is prescribed by doctor. but i'll try to ask the doctor once again when i visit the clinic sometimes. i know i cannot use this serum forever. my mother also told me what if the company stop producing this serum.
i eat anything i want. even soda, instant noodle, sugary food, milk, yoghurt and the other dairy product. i think diet has no effect on my skin. i am pretty sure about that because my doctor told me i can eat anything i want. and as long as im on this serum, i am clear. no matter what kind of food i take.
@maverickk21@gilang91Thanks gilang. I am thinking if it would be possible for us to transfer the cost of this medicine and shipping to you and if you can ship it to us. I don't mind paying for international shipping incase you cannot figure out the ingredients. It is a lot to ask from someone but would be grateful for the favor. oh.. i forgot to mention larissa and ella launch app on playstore. you can download them and find information about the clinic. and you can also buy their product from the apps. but as far as i remember. they don't display doctor prescribed product on their apps. only non prescribed product with natural ingredients.
and i also forget to mention that i did my blue-light therapy in larissa

yes your sympthon is simillar to mine but much milder. my condition is 500% worse than yours. believe me.
i know what you feel about this condition. i would love to send the serum to you if i can. but the shipment cost would be too expensive for me.
i consider to take accutane because i am so fed up with my oily skin. my face is super oily you can't imagine. so its just for the oil not the pustule. because i think i can manage the pustule with my serum.

i would love to ship the serum to you. but i need time to figure out how. i don't want you to lost your money and didn't receive the serum because my fault.

@silverlight22I was actually thinking of getting @gilang91to ship the serum to us as well! The cost of the serum itself is not expensive, and Id be willing to pay for the international shipping. The another idea I thought of was whether its possible to send the serum to a laboratory for an analysis, such that the active ingredient(s) in the serum can be determined.
Ideally, it would still be better if gilang91 could find out from the clinic he goes to / the pharmacy that produces the serum what the ingredients are! gilang91, please keep trying and update us accordingly!
look. i found a serum on shopee that is very similar to my serum. and the description says the active ingredients is clyndamicyn.
could it be possible if the active ingredient was clyndamicyn?
my serum smells very similar to clyndamicyn gel. its like onion or something.
but i have doubt that clynda was the active ingredients because my acne never respond well to it. i bought clyndamicyn gel long time ago. i finished one tube but it does nothing on my pustule.
and the doctor also told me that there is no antibiotic on my serum.
confuse.
@gilang91Yes, it does look extremely similar to the serum you are using... and the price is similar to what you paid for yours?
given that clindamycin did nothing for your pustules previously, perhaps it could be one of the other ingredients that is making the difference. I doubt its Aloe Vera because I have been applying aloe vera gel to the area around my mouth without much success. It could be Allantoin or witch hazel thats the magic ingredient. Not too sure what resorting is...
not sure if this would be too much to ask from you, but would it be possible for you to order one bottle of this from shopee, compare it with the serum you got from your clinic, and let us know if its the same? Because if it is, then we will have successfully found out your serums ingredients and could try to find something in our respective countries that contains these same ingredients. And we could then finally stand a chance of having no more pustules anymore!
To be honest at this point I won't mind flying down to Indonesia to get to the bottom of this shit
I use a vasline like cream called Glysolid which contains Glycerin and Alltonin. Funny thing is if i apply it to my pustules on my body, they go away within a day. Before I found this cream, the pustules on my body would stay for 2 weeks.
I use it for my face too after i apply BP 2.5 percent and it really keeps the skin hydrated and i feel like it repairs it quite s bit. Pretty sure its Alltonin but it doesn't eliminate my face pustules
Hi everyone, I posted back in July as I was having great success with exactly the same issues as you are all having and I just thought Id provide an update.
So im struggling again after being clear for a good few months and Im almost convinced of of a few things now based on my experience. So I started working a job where I live inside 24/7 for a month at time. Low and behold they came back with a vengeance after this happened, coincidence? I also feel for me personally high GI foods is playing role here due to noting excessive breakouts after sugar consumption. My skin feels really dehydrated from working inside all the time. Im sure theres a correlation between inflammatory foods and environmental conditions. So with that in mind I started ful in caveman regime nothing touches face at all an attempt for my skin to heal itself perhaps and also cutting dairy and all other inflammatory foods. After doing 10 days so fun at the top half of my Face is looking great but mouth area and above mustache is active with 5-6 pustules at a time. My skin tone has improved dramatically but my skin is very flaky and in turn clogging pores and creating pustules. Im trying to let them run there course no picking etc which is very difficult however they dry up within a day now but leave a red mark up to a week now I have this dead skin all over. They are definitely less inflamed but still noticeable I will keep you posted as I go a long along. I may not be able to responsd for a few weeks as Im leaving for a camping trip so this will give me a good period of time to assess if will in fact work.
