Breakthrough: although this may not work for everyone because there are many different causes to the issue we have been discussing I think I might have found what works for me. I am not out of the water yet but I have been having clear days here and there and for those who have this issue, you know those days just do not happen.

1. Strict diet: I cut out all dairy, gluten and sugar. Yes it's hard and yes it sucks but it's worth it!!

2. Probiotics: I take a 90 Billion strain probiotic daily (ultimate flora is the only kind I have found that works for me so far). I could tell almost immediately that this helped my stomach issues and I have been taking them for about two months now.

3. Exercise: I am a very busy person so I don't get to the gym more than a couple times a week but it sure helps.

4. Grow out that beard! (if you are a man of course): shaving seemed to irritate my skin and caused a lot of itch, I stopped shaving and I stopped itching.

5. SLS free skin and hair products: This is something I have been doing for a couple weeks and I feel this might be the thing that was aggravating my issue because I saw the biggest difference when I started this and number 6.

6. StressLESS and do NOT pick the blemishes: Yes they are ugly and embarrassing but the more you pick, the more you get and the more red and irritated your face will become. Finally, I feel THIS was the key... Stress less about the condition! I have had this problem for over a year now and it took every bit of my self confidence. I felt ugly, embarrassed and depressed. I didn't want to go to social functions or even to work sometimes. One day though I woke up and decided that this issue is not going to define me. I stopped worrying about what others thought, I stopped obsessing about what my face looked like in the mirror, I stopped popping the pustulesand I went about my business. It didn't happen over night but you know what, slowly my face started clearing!!! instead of getting 4-5 pustules a day I was getting 2 or three and they were small. A few more days passed and I started getting maybe one a day. For the past couple weeks now though I have been having days where my face is clear! Like I said, I may not be out of the water yet but what I am doing seems to be working and if I can go a couple days with a clear face that is 99% better than where I came from.

If this post can at least help one person I feel it will be worth writing. It may not work for all but it is working for me and I wanted to share.

Hi. I first started suffering from folliculitis around 2 or 3 years ago at the age of 22-23. I would wake up every morning with pustules at the creases of my nose on both sides. I just thought they were pimples and would go away after some time but it never did. I visited the dermatologist last year because the pustules started spreading to my upper lip and even though it didn't look as serious, they would leave scars. I was prescribed some antibiotics and an ointment called mirocin. My skin started getting better but it didn't last long. I now break out on my chin too and it just seems to be spreading like wtf, seriously. It's super depressing waking up every single morning and worrying about new pustules forming on my mother effing face! My dermatologist recommends me to either start on accutane or do to Light Thepary laser to kill the bacteria. The laser is expensive and I'm not 100% confident about it killing my recurring folliculitis. I read on another site that going for laser hair removal on the face is another option since folliculitis is inflammation of hair follicles? I'm not sure what to do. FML!

First thank you all for your posts and sharing experiences.

I am constantly developping white pus zits around mouth and chin! I started developing this about a year ago.

Symptoms

---------------

- constant small white pus zits around mouth and chin. dry up in about 2-3 days.

- few more start when one stops!

- red bumps

- redness irritation.

- All these symptoms only around nose , mouth and chin. rest of the face is clear!

- constant Dandruff also.

Didn't work : Tried following from Derm,

------------------------------------

- Doxycline Hycyclate

- Minocycline

- Differin

- Promiseb

- Zaina

- Aczone

- pretty much all steriod crap.

Remedies worked that helped a little but not cured completely

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ACV

Clay masks

Yogurt masks

Candida Diet - No sugar, No milk

ACV for dandruff.

SLS free stuff

Non flouride tooth paste

brush with sodium bi carboate (ew!)

Diet:

------

I have been eating like a monk from past 2 years,

fruits for breakfast

salads

bunch of green vegetables

yogurt once in a while.

tried candida dietfor couple of weeks which seem to clear up a bit and not complete relief.

Things next to try:

-----------------------

- Connection of these symptoms to histamine intolerance ?

- Connection of these symptoms to fungal ?

- what is the damn white pus ?

- supplements - L-Lysine, L - Glutamine

This thing brought me down so much in my life! There are days when i just sit in my room and cry because I have pretty much tried everything under the sun. I am even worried to go meet my sisters kids Please help share your expertise and what worked for you guys. Please drop a note and i really need your support to keep me motivated to see the light at the end of tunnel.

thanks!

Hey...
even I had the similar issue but small changes in my lifestyle changed it completely.
I realised that these white bumps sometimes are due to 1. Pollution, 2. Lack of care , dryness 3. Diet 4. Giving them a chance to spread out further using your nails etc.,

i changed my diet : less oil, more fruits ( like water melon, cucumber, tomatoes  )

i started to meditate 20 minutes a day. Meditation makes your skin look younger and even reduces the chance of breakouts. It takes around 2 weeks to show the results but trust me!!! It helped me a lot. I feel fresh and I completely got rid of white bumps.

i started a routine to wash my face before sleeping. I use Clinique face wash and Neutrogena mild scrub alternatively. Then apply bio oil and massage gently for 5 minutes and then go to bed. If I don't have time to massage, I simply apply good moisturizer and then go to bed. Cleaning your face before going to bed is very important.

I also will make sure to change my pillow cover every 3 days.

I stopped eating meat for few weeks. I kind of noticed vast difference but since it is very hard to be vegetarian, I started to eat meat.
If your problem is very high, I recommend you to stop eating meat for few days. It might help.

And and for dandruff , use Neutrogena T-gel . It did miracle on my hair. I used stronger version of T-gel.

Hope this helps. !! Bye

I had a similar problem. I ate healthy too, showered and didn't use soap that would dry out my skin, etc. but still had the same problem.

I went a few weeks without eating fruit, and noticed my skin cleared up. Once I ate a piece of fruit after that, my skin started to burn and became painful for a few days, along with the white zits coming back. It happened with tomato sauce too.

If you have this problem, try cutting out fruits, including tomatoes, chili/bell peppers, and vinegar made from fruit. This seemed to help me! Good luck.

I looked at this post a few months ago, so I can't remember every post I read, but in doing more research I think I found out what was causing pustules around my mouth.

My experience: out of nowhere my lips would turn red andburn, then I'd get tiny pustules all around my mouth, and they'd multiply like crazy and take forever to heal. Then they'd come back and the cycle would repeat, but my lips didn't always get red and burn. After more research I decided to see if my lip balms/lipsticks were causing the problem and suspected propolis (unfiltered beeswax, as I understand it). As soon as I started using beeswax free lip balm, the problem went away! Also, I accidentally bought a couple of tubes I thought were beeswax free, but weren't. My lips started burning again one day so l looked at the ingredients and realized I mistakenly purchased a couple with beeswax and had been using that tube. I immediately started using the beeswax free tube and the burning went away, and no pustules formed. I can't say for certain that the beeswax is the culprit, but as I experiment more, it's definitely looking like it.

Worth a shot if you're symptoms mimic mine.

Thank you so much for all your support and messages guys.

Few updates from me,

About 6 months or so ago I was in India and doc recommended me Azithromycin (anti biotic) I took a strip about 9 or so. It completely cleared it up!
I thought I am done with it once it for all! Unfortunately as all our misery it came back again in 6 months. back to same old symptoms. every morning i wake up hoping not to see myself in mirror. fresh batch of pustules cropping every day FML

I also tried Triple Anitibiotic ointment and apple cider vinegar. It gives initial relief but doesnt cure it.

1. Couple of things I noticed and wanted your guys opinion - what is the scienitific name for this condition ?
Perioral dermatitis
Folliculitis Barbae
Pustules caused by staph infection

2. Do you guys also have dandruff issues ?

3. Any recent home remedies you tried for temporary relief ?

I think its important for us to get this right as we explore solutions.

What is your diet like? I read your first post and you said you have fruits every morning which is why youre getting these pustules. I used to have something similar, in fact I still do but it's gone down to 5 or 6 small ones a day or even clear skin.

I removed all forms of sugar so no ketchup, honey, even no natural forms of sugar because its all sugar. GET RID OF SUGAR COMPLETELY. Also no dairy, so no cheese, yogurt, butter or whatever. Avoid these two. Hopefully you'll see a difference in 2 weeks. Stay away from sugar, have rice and proteins for lunch and dinner. Change your breakfast to whole wheat bread with some margarine maybe. Even if the diet seems extreme to you, try it out for 2 weeks and if it makes a difference, you'll know diet is affecting your acne. I'm sure it'll clear up soon though. Keep me posted. Also, I wash my face with plain head and shoulders every morning while taking a shower.

Antibiotics will clear you up completely but they cause many many food tolerance issues as they destroy your gut completely. Trust me on this one, every time i have taken antibiotics, your body gets resistant to it and the acne comes back in full force and destroys your gut and good bacteria causing leaky gut syndrome and hence a whole bunch of food intoleraces which cause all these pustules.

Remove sugar and dairy completely. I'm sure you'll see a big difference. If you can, then write down your diet in detail here and i can tell you what might be causing your issue

Oh my god, suffering from exactly the same thing for a year now. White pustules in beard. Do you have any solutions yet?

I have tried 4 types of anti-biotics - flucoxacillin, dioxacillin, erythromycin and lymecycline. It clears up completely in less than 3-4 dyas but it comes back after 10-15 days. I also have dandruff in my beard just like you said. I want to go to India as soon as possible, maybe looking into some ayurvedic treatment. I went to the doctor a few days ago, he told me I've to stay on anti-biotics for a long time and it just depressed me further.

I've noticed that when I consume dairy and sugar, my symptoms are WORSE.

I'm at my wits end and it has shattered my confidence into pieces. I hate my life.

The situation is similar on a little part (middle) of my chest and I've painful bumps and pustules in the scalp.

I'm from India too and maybe we can create a communication medium where we can discuss our problems and any solutions that we may have to offer.
Do message me back please.IMG_8740.jpeg

Hi guys, im going through exactly the same thing. I have been on doxy numerous times in my teens and accutane twice in my twenties. I now have the exact same problem. I think mine is caused by sebborich dermatitis as the skin around my mouth and beard is can get itchy and flakey with a white film.

Im so frustrated at this point and am currently afraid to treat it with antibiotics because I've heard they can make the dermatitis worse.

The skin around my nose is very oily but the problem is isolated to the chin.

The only thing the has kind of help abit is cutting out sugar totally including fruits.

I have been to one doctor who has tested me for sexual diseases as she thought it was herpes. But results came back negative. At this moment im to embarassed to go to the doctors and I honestly dont think they know or really care what is going on.

One question i have for you guys, what cleanser do you use and is your skin oily?

please keep in contact im sure multiple brains can cure this frusting infection.

Rocketboysf have you had any progress with this? The latest i have tried is bioderma node p which is an antidandruff shampoo. I kind of work for two days but the burning and irration it caused was no worth it. Hopefully you've found something better.

Hi,
I've been having mostly smaller cystic acne and zits around my mouth and nose on and off for many years, besides also having psoriasis over probably 15 % of my body, some of it my face.
I have noticed over the years that often when I was sick and would throw up and generally not eat much,my skin would immediately start
getting better, and all my inflamed spots were starting to heal.I could get a similar effect by drinking excessive amounts of dieter's tea which would cause thorough diarrhea. Of course I would soon after return to my normal diet or sin with a double cheeseburger with fries, and within an hour I could usually feel the tingle of inflammation starting somewhere.

Nowadays, even certain "healthy" foods like walnuts will trigger arthritic pain starting within an hour.

I have been focusing on improving my gut health,by minimizing sugar, gluten, taking Probiotics, drinking lots of green/ginger tea, eating chicken soup/broth with collagen and garlic. I really believe that the absorption of nutrients and the balance of bacteria is out of whack for people with skin diseases.

Just recently I have added quite a bit of raw onion and cooked garlic to my diet, along with taking 1800mg NAC daily. For now, this seems to have really improved my trouble spots around my mouth. The acne basically disappeared completely for now,and the skin color is returning
to what it is supposed to be rather quickly.

Marquisjo I have the exact same thing as you. We definitely need to band together to fix this. At this point in time its controling my life and has to be stopped. When they happen in the corners of my lips its soo painful.

Just to see if we have any of the same background have you been on Accutane or antibiotics in the past?

Do you get an oily face or have any signs of seb derm?

Last thing i looked at was staph infection in nose but i couldn't really see any results after treating nose with antibiotic cream.

I have pretty much gone away from docs and derms as Ive been to too many to count and they dont even really know whats going on and just keep on trying to treat them like whiteheads with bp. And coming from someone who has had acne in the past i know this is definitely something different.

sorry for the long post but this really means a lot to me right now. So if you end up finding a solution please reply im getting desperate.

HIYes I took antibiotics 2 times this year 10 days each. The antibiotic is called cloxacilline, first helped me a lot and took
about 6 = 7 months after the acne came back with a new power. When I took antibiotics for the second time did not help me so well, and I decided
to take probiotics, this was a very big mistake,Every day in the morning I went out 30 = 40 pimples.i stop this and start something new. i live in France so I tried (argent colloidal) in my nose and ears, now i have from 5 to 10 every daym hope this will work for me, i started 5 days ago.I'll keep you up if it's going to work well for me.Some nights I feel like someone puts a needle in some areas of the chin and lips, when I wake up in the morning in those places I have very bad pimples and it hurt a lot.My face is oily.If you have the result with any product please let me know,Try to read here may be helpful /topic/344935-staph-in-my-nose-caused-my-pimples/?do=embed">

I have been looking at this thread for the past year, felt so helpless. I just checked and oh man, I can't believe it's active again. I'm literally tearing up. I also have folliculitis all over my scalp, now mostly on the back of head now.

The pustules however haven't improved. I have tried betadine, honestly, it hasn't really helped. I used it for several months, but there hasn't been a consistent change. Though this may not entirely be a bacterial issue in itself. I continue to put betadine/tao in my nose/ears. Most of the pustules are still around my nose, lips.

I feel so help less. This all started last year after a month of stressful events and now my face is filled with scars. I had acne since I was 16 but it stopped in 2015. Then 2016, this started. I haven't taken accutane, been on short courses of antibiotics though. I really hope we can find the cause/solution to this.

Currently I'm trying to greatly increase fatty acid intake, and continuing to eat healthy. I have alot of stress from several areas and feel like that might even be the cause. But there have been times when I am stress free and the issues seem to increase. I'm so tired now and confused its hard for me think straight about this pustules.

Sorry this was quick, I'll be back and put stuff in more detail.

So this week mine has been seem to be clearing abit none really on the chin but im still getting them on the lips and they are exactly the same as you describe really painful like pins poking.

im starting to think this is internal because i have been following rob stuart on youtube. Although im not vegan i have a very plant based diet. Although I have noticed when i eat sugar my condition gets worse.

So yeah its to early to tell if the nose antibiotics are working yet.

At the moment i have two theories.

1. My immune system is very weak and that is letting this infection take over

2. Im suffering from hyperthyroidism and that is causing the oily skin and all other issues.

A few questions for you. Can you show me your cleaning and treatment routine and products?

Have you always had acne prone and oily skin?

Does the condition get better after you clean shave?

Is your skin dry at all?

Sorry for my long posts but I am very passionate about this.

Hey, one thing to note. Betadine (iodine) is very easily absorbed into the skin. If anyone has hyperthyroidism, in theory, additional iodine will increase problems. I read a study which showed that patients who had surgery where iodine was applied on skin, blood levels were elevated for upto 7 days. Ofcourse when applied inside nose, the surface area is lower, so not as much will be absorbed. Goodluck man!

hello
A few days ago a friend gave me a cream on the name fusidic acid2% creams in France called acid fusidique 2% creams. The first evening after use * (I put a little on the top of the pimple),And I was very amazed when I woke up and the pimple dried out and only a yellow substance remained. The next day when I tried all over half or dried the rest dried out in a few days. That does not mean that in the meantime I'm not getting any other pimples, but it's a start and I like it to be positive. I'll keep you up to date as the situation unfolds.Plus i did a lot of research on the net and on this site, I was shocked that a lot of people are in our situation and no one has found a stable solution for that. The best of what I found is administering antibiotics (cream) in the nose and ears. And the worst I am upset about many who have found the solution to our situation and have no desire to share it with others.
