Sup people!
22 Male - 70kg
70mg daily for 4 months
I've just had my first tablets today
Ive had persistent acne throughout my teenage and adult years with fluctuating severity of breakouts.
I responded to antibiotics positively last year and was clear for about 6-8 months. The acne came back and is now more resistant, especially after 6 months of antibiotics and topicals with no improvement.
Regimen:
Acne.org cleanser
La posay moisturiser (for isotretinion users)
Vitamin c, d, e and zinc
I get married in 6 months and I really want to be clear or as close to it as possible, so join me on the road trip!
Day 4
I know I'm only in a couple of days but I have noticed some slight dryness beginning to occur.
My face is becoming slightly flakey. My lips are not cracking etc. but they do have a 'tight sort of feel to them. I also have had some hard blood in my nose. Don't know if this is ALL due to Accutane or if it is a mix of it and the cold weather.
Regarding acne I'm still getting 2-3 whiteheads show up daily but my face seems to have improved slightly. I'm still popping 1 or 2 whiteheads a day and I know I need to stop soon before my skin gets too thin, don't want issues with scarring or adding to what I already have!

What side effects did u experience?
Day 5
Same as yesterday, but I've had 3 hard angry nodular lumps appear on my forehead. These have appeared just over night, and when I thought my face was beginning to improve!
I think I'll need to shave tonight so this could be interesting trying to avoid all the spots.
Edit
wet shaving was not fun, even a lot of shaving gel didn't give a nice feel for the blade. I also haven't stopped squeezing yet. I squeezed 2 whiteheads and 3 very deep blind lumps. I need to stop or I'm gonna scar. It's a struggle!
My face also looks like a tomato..already!
First month was awful for me! At least you know the drug is having an effect. My lips felt tight after a day or so as well
@dw75your skin has reacted so well to Accutane!
@Quadboyyeah I know, today I have only squeezed one spot on my neck so hopefully tmoz I'll squeeze none!
I am more worried about the cut I have gotten between my eyebrows. When I fell it also cut the tops off the spots on my forehead. I hope they heal up..they were not intentionally afflicted!
My forehead is a swollen red mess now..

Constant red face including bad flushing/blushing when Im embarrassed, hot, after eating. Ive heard it referred to as the tane burn
usual dryness and a little bit of stiffness/pain in legs but that cleared up pretty quickly.
month 3 started to get very bad constipation which my derm was sceptical whether it was accutane but definitely was as too much of a coincidence with the general dryness. Thankfully this has stopped now
on the plus side my face and scalp is very clear and Ive only had the odd spot past few months. Biggest struggle has been not drinking too much alcohol!

I'm glad it worked for You! I hope I start clearing soon. How long did the redness take to go away? I'm getting it already.
Still squeezing, 2 massive gnarly nodular spots appeared beside each other on my forehead and I couldn't resist but squeeze because they were so sore and pressured.
Got some stuff out of them but in the process I removed the top layer of my skin. I gotta learn soon! Don't want to be dealing with major scars.
Hey, are you on a diet yet? It really helps with inflammation so your pimples won't be so angry and tempt you to squeeze them. You know, cutting down on things like dairy, sugar, caffeine, processed and junk food in general. They say if you take a spoonful of coconut oil right before or after you abuse carbs, it helps lower your blood sugar, so your insulin and therefore your hormones won't be messed up. It's also supposed to lower your bad cholesterol, which might get high on Accutane. Also, teas and vegetables are anti-inflammatory.

ive cut down on my dairy intake and general junk food
Last night and today I've been having issues with myeyes drying out and feeling irritated.
Hey jPablo! I had a quick suggestion for you - if you have a spot and you're really tempted to pick it, stick some sudocrem on it. It will help soothe the spot and soften the skin, and it will stop you touching it. That's what I did. Sometimes, if the spot is on the surface of the skin anyway it will actually draw out the pus and gunk without any picking needed.
In terms of eye dryness - have a read of my thread - Roaccutane on the NHS. I also suffered from dry eyes and there should be some info on how I dealt with it on there.

I use sudocrem and always have! Did you use it throughout the whole course when you were on accutane?
Yeah I'll have a look, thanks
Week 2
14 pills done! Still breaking out but I do notice spots scab over quicker. I also got a new phone and it's pretty harsh on the front camera.. at least I hope so lol
side effects
Similar to last week except my skin is now flaking and is super red like a tomato
Slight back pains as well
Week 3
Still breaking out, still squeezing (I know I need to stop)
In the middle of last week I thought I was clearing up, only a few whiteheads but no deep pimples. Until Sunday, 3 deep ones on one cheek and 2 in the other which I had to squeeze as they were so pressured. I think these came up as I started a new job today.
My family was even commenting that my skin was clearing up. Hopefully this is the IB coming to an end.
side effects
Similar to previous
Dry/flakiness in general
Joint and muscle aches
Light heads aren't as bad anymore
Week 4
Still having breakouts, mainly having issues with my forehead at the minute, just as it was beginning to clear up completely! Here's some comparison pics from day 1 until now, what do you think of the progress anyone?
Still getting some crazy dryness on my hands and top of my arms/back now, but I'll take the dryness for clear skin.
