Accutane is a rough journey sometimes but so worth it in the end you look like you're making great progress it's a total pain in the arse breaking out whilst taking it but it will get better!! X
Thanks, for the info. I just got a little bit of the rash starting up again, so I'll have to get that then.
Day 72 : Skin is looking great, haven't had a new pimple really. Still have 2 on my right cheek that haven't gone, some on my neck but nothing crazy like before. Skin looks much more clear.
Lips are still dry as hell, lip balm does thy tricky though
here is some pics so far.
Wow your skin looks amazing!! I'm still getting the odd spot here and there but nothing like it was... such a relief! Oh our poor lips! I'll take it over acne any day tho ha ha!! Switched from la Roche posay lip nitritic to something a little more wallet friendly...got much worse so forked out the 6 for another tube hell we're worth it ;)!!

Yea i buy the 4$ blistex lip medex ones they are awesome.
day 79 : Had a minor breakout around my mouth. 4 red ones popped up. One of them is pretty red unfortunately really noticeable. But, w.e stuff happens and I know my skin is much better then when I started.
I went golfing about 5 times in the sun, didn't apply enough sunscreen it seems definitely got some burns aloe Vera does the trick though thankfully. Doesn't seem much different from when i normally get sunburns so idk what the difference is with the accutane as the derm told me to avoid activities in the sun. But, that's out of the question when I golf over 200+ times a year.
I got a strange rash, not itchy but small needle mark sized red spots that seem to begin at my shoulder and spread to my chest down to my abdominals. Idk if it could be a rash from a shirt I wore as it seems to only be in wearing shirt areas yet none of these spots show up on my back. Been like this for a 1 day and half. I'll just moisturize and see if it goes away in a couple days before i make a big deal about it.
If anyone has gotten something similar let me know.
Also a little bummed out it seems the acne on my chest isn't really acne anymore its simply scars that are still colored based off of my dermatologist so its unlikely to go away anytime soon 🙁 . I hate it on the chest the most, makes working out to have a nice body kinda useless for now but in good time i suppose that shall go away.
Can't wait until the day I am fully clear.
Honestly those marks will fade just keep using the sunscreen, moisturise and give it some time! Be careful with rashes im sure I read somewhere to keep an eye and maybe show someone although I'm sure yours is fine! the skin on my body is dry with like little bumps here and there maybe it's the same and totally normal?!
Ive had a few round the jawline this week and noticing my face is a bit red from my nose to my chin... Gonna have to up the moisturising I think! X
day 94 : skin is looking great. Have a few red spots around my mouth from my breakout from day 79 but they are no longer pimples, simply the faded away aspect of them. No active pimples currently. Chest has no actives, simply still scared with red marks. Like I said in an earlier post my derm already told me that its all scarring there at this point and will take much longer to fade away.
Rash disappeared a few days after I talked about it, thankfully must of been nothing major.
added some pics to show the current state.
Still having the dry lips and dry skin, but I continue to lip balm and moisturize and it's not big deal. 4 days past 3months, hopefully it stays on this track and I am clear for el goodio lol.

how has your progress been so far?
Day 98 : no new pimples, lips still dry of course. Skin always needs mostirizer of course. Haven't had much problems with the sun, as I golf a lot and am always out there. So I believe as long as I stay protected with my sunscreen I am okay, i am fairly pale so I am not someone who gets burnt a lot. But, nothing extra while on the tane. Which is kinda cool, since my derm told my watch out with the sun.
Red spots slowly diapering, and it's really looking better. Chest is always the same, nothing knew I am learning to live with it though. Taking my shirt off for pool parties, and no one really even says anything. Seems like one of those things that I care more about it then others. Which is nice.
Feeling good, is all I wanted to say I guess.
Almost at day 100 woohoo.
Hope everyone is getting great results also.
Looking great!!! I'm being a bit naughty today....I've slathered myself in spf 50+ and spending some time in the garden with the kids....so nice to feel the sun on my skin for a change. I have no actives at all just the same as you a fair few marks, i actually feel ok baring my previously pickled back and chest!
Bought some la Roche posay cistaplast for my lips it's great stuff but I've noticed I'm applying it more now my dose is higher but I can live with dry lips no problem!
Enjoy the bank holiday...actually a sunny one for a change! X
Ps glad that rash went away for you my worse part is my arms feel like sandpaper!! Aquamax is keeping it at bay and it's not forever I guess X I'm so happy with this course of accutane i'm very very lucky it started working straight away and no initial breakout this time round!!
My biggest at fear is that it'll come back but gotta stay positive!! X
Hisavo0057! Amazing progress - congrats!!
Question for you since I noticed you mentioned playing golf. I have ambitious plans to play a lot of golf this summer but I just started accutane and I keep reading that back pain is a potential side effect. I'm worried golf will compound that. Have you noticed any issues with your back?

No I haven't had any problems with my back what so ever. Although, I do some power lifting and have been training my back frequently. Could be why i don't notice pain, or an even better indicator that it wont be an issue.
Just wear lots of sunscreen my friend, I have been getting sunburns that I normally wouldn't be getting. Usually by this time I have a good enough base, but the sunburns are just peeling away to new skin, and then I am getting burned again.

Glad its working great for you and hopefully it doesn't return for you.
day 114 : Had a large breakout for the first time in a while. A few popped up on my face, these could also have been caused by razerburn as I got them the day after I shaved. I was out of aftershave and gave it a shot, but clearly was a bad idea. They are not bad though.
Although, where I am upset about is for the first time since the medication I had a huge breakout on my chest. The chest was starting to clear up and was looking fairly good, of course just the red marks from scars but that was all. Then all the sudden my entire right Pec exploaded with pimples. I have 9 that seem to be forming, they are in early stages but they are clearly going to be coming in. was hoping I was already in the clear skin touchdown zone.
Welp sad day, but hopefully they go away quickly.
I've been on a new medication this month called epuris this month.
day 135 : Face still has the acne from my day 114 breakout, seems strange ussualy on my accutane the breakouts go away much quicker, this has lasted much longer then expected.
Chest breakout subsided, still have my acne in the middle of my chest, mostly scars now but red scars so it looks like its acne which sucks.
Some recent side effects that have been affecting me in the last couple weaks, inside my nose its getting really dry and causing nose bleeds in the morning. Although, putting aquaphor up my nose before bed has fixed that problem.
Eyes have gotten extremely dry, and I am being forced to place drops in my eyes. Every morning I am waking up with crust in eyes, could be part of my allergies. But, haven't ever had this issue in my life.
was hoping after 4months, I'd be on the straight away. But, gotta keep looking at this in a positive way friends.
day 139 : Face is looking much more clear from that day 114 breakout, the marks where the breakout was are still there. But, they are no longer active pimples, and are simply fading away.
Eye's are still causing me issues, definitely getting some irritation there(as in dry eyes). Still using my drops
Nose Bleeds have not returned one bit, since utilizing my aquaphor gel in my nose before sleep.
Chest is looking a tad bit better, it actually looks a lot better when I have a tan. But, when I am super pale the red marks are extremely apparent. If only we didn't have the winter months here in Canada. Welp might as well enjoy the much better look during the summer while i stil can.
Adding some pics here, as it's been a while since i a pic progress post.

Looking great man, really fantastic results so far!
Wondering if anyone has gone through this before, but I am vacationing in LA, California for 2 weeks. And I wanted to know if I decided to stop taking my medication for those 2 weeks, so that I could enjoy some alcohol would that be okay? Or is it still in my system that it wouldn't be a good idea?
day 146 : Played Beach volleyball tournament today, so I got a pretty bad sunburn on my back. Had SPF 60 on lol, but i must of had a bad back sunscreen applier helping me out.
No new actives, same ones from day 114 breakout that are still fading away. Slowly but surely, but it's nice to know nothing new has come up.
My dry eyes are actually getting frustrating, is anyone else experiencing this side effect? I literally have to apply Visine in my eyes every 4hours to ensure they are not super red. And every time I wake up my eyes are sealed shut, and I am getting the eye crust. Shit was never a problem for me ever in my life, and last month it's been none stop. Is it something I should get checked out, maybe get a prescription for eye drops instead of this over the counter visine?
Day 169 : No actives, still have acne that's fading away on my jawline.
had some bad sunburns, as I had a trip to LA for 2 weeks, lets just say the burns were not good lol.
also during the vacation I did drink a tad, which I beleive was a bad idea...
on the final stretch, and acne still isn't clear which kinda sucks.
Eye issues are still the worst of all, extremely dry eyes sucks.
Chest acne hasn't really changed much since the beginning of the cycle, so it clearly didn't do much there.
day 173 : I had 2 pimples that began forming on friday morning, I had to pop them on sat night as I was going out. And no way was I keeping those on my face
3rd pimple began to develop on sunday morning, and it's about to be in the popping zone. I'll avoid popping this one, since I am not going anywhere special.
Sucks that I am still getting a breakout when I am within 10days of 6months... welp, could of been my fault from the drinking and the sun exposure duing my vacation.
Acne on my chest is the exact same from when I started the accutane, nothing has changed there.
Face is much more clear, just have actives every now and then. And some reddish blemishes near my jawline, and my face is generally red but I know that's part of the medication and should clear aftewards.
I would say my acne is in better form then it was, and people notice that. Although, I personally don't think it's improved to the point that I beleived it would.
Seeing some of the logs, many people seems to lose their acne all together, mine just seems to have diminshed a tad, and I only had mild acne to begin with.
welp never know, I know the accutane stays in the system for a month so so afterwards. It's always possible it still h as clearing to do.
my camera seems to not me that great of quality so its hard to see the red marks, but the are all around my jawline. I guess the accutane really helped with my ability to get a photo taken without my acne being crazy visible.
Day 190 : Yesterday was my last pill. Still have some red marks near my jawlinw, and had a pimple on each earlobe. But, face overall is looking better.
Chest Acne didn't really change throughout the entirety of the 6month cycle, still there.
Lips are still super dry
Eyes are still causing me lots of problems, still super dry. Still waking up with my lids shut open, and my eyes are not able to flush out the goo and stuff so I always have to grab a kleenex and take them out from the side of my eyes.
Welp will see how she goes, all probably update this in a month or so see how I am doing.
Here are some pics to see my current status. Skin looks a little oily, but that's because I just applied moisturizer.
Thought it would be a good idea to post a 3months after the ending of my accutane cycle.
I will explain how those months went, since the end I only had one breakout and it was about 2weeks ago I had gotten about 3-4 actives but they have faded since then. So I am still extremely happy with my skin
My chest acne looks so much better then it did on day 1, great improvement.
Side effects still persist to this day, my dry eyes are still a problem. Although not as bad as they were when on the drug, they still cause me problems. I wake up every morning with eye goo and my eyes are sealed shut, I really hoped this side effect would go away soon after the ending of treatment because it's the worst one I had during the treatment.
My lips are still dry, not as dry while on the drug but certainly still very noticebly dry I continue to apply blistex 5+ times a day.
Those are the only remaining side effects though.
And here are pictures of my current situation
Okay so I am about 6 months post accutane and I'd like to update everyone on how it's gone.
My terrible dry eye side effects finally went away after 6 months post treatment. It was the worst side effect I got during my time taking accutane. I'd have extremely dry eyes, and it was painful at times. But, it's all gone now.
I still have mild dry lips, now this was the first side effect to come while on treatment so I assumed it would be the last to go. Hoping that is soon, I hate having to apply the chapstick every day. But, it is certainly do able.
To be honest at this point my breakouts are the same as they were before the accutane. I get them every now and then, they pop up and they last for a week or so. It's always been mild acne, and it seems nothings changed. I did have a nice window where I was clear and it made me hopeful but at this time it seems accutane didn't work for me as a treatment to completely solve my acne.
I will not do another cycle of accutane simply because I did not enjoy the dry eye side effect that came with it, it was painful and not fun. And the end result is that my acne is the same as it use to be.
Hopefully others have had better results then me at this point I am simply going to hope for it to go away on its own one day.

Sorry to hear Savo, mine came back shortly after finishing accutane as well. Definitely discouraging. I am currently in my first month of my second course which sucks but I'm hoping a higher dose will put it into remission. I'm surprised our acne came back so quickly as we both have mild cases. Best of luck to you in the future!

Hope you have better luck this time around trance. Yea I was told before taking it that mild cases usually get cured at a much higher rate. But, I guess sometimes its just not meant to be.
