Good luck with your Accutane course! It should work wonders for you! Just be patient. Remember it will get worse before it gets better.

You may want to ask your derm for a script for prednisone, that will help calm things down. If your cysts are hurting you, that would be a good idea! It you have questions just ask! I did a almost 8 month stint on tane.

Just be glad you're on it and that you're doing your skin a favor. I know it's hard, but try to focus on other things that make you feel good about yourself while this passes. Good luck !

Day 31 - Whats up guys today I got a Extraction my face feels softer lighter and fresh she got rid of ALOT OF WHITEHEADS that came to the surface I'm looking foward to this week since my pores are uncloggged now and my pores should shrink and accutane could do its thing also my face was really red i have to go again in 8-10 days to do another facial and extraction since you cant get rid off all of them at once but im hopping my face recovers and doesnt scar cause before i took acctuane i didnt have that many pimples on my face but i guess they were down there and accutane pushed them up

It was my first one but the lady was gentle and she put on a mask on after so the swelling and redness would calm down but I had a lot of whiteheads I felt that it was needed and she got rid all of that junk under neath

day 40 : I went to the see my derm she prescribed me bactrim and lowered me from 40 to 20mg whole im on bactrim for the week but im try to get an week i feel like its kicking in but after the extraction i broke out bad with cyst and nodules mayb there was more under my skin but this week was brutul but i feel its clearing up a bit cause it was worse 1-10 .. 10 being the worst my skin is at 8 hope this week goes well ... I have a super big pimple size of a gold ball idk why i broke out so bad but i feel after this clead up it will be smooth sailing

The extractions will bring stuff to the surface so it shouldn't be done on accutane. Let the medication to its thing. I know its rough but hang steady.

Please don't do extractions, because I haven't seen even one medical journal that supports that practice while on accutane.

I asked because your not supposed to do extractions while on Accutane. My dermatologist made this very clear to me. Your skin is very very likey to scar while on Accutane because it slows down your bodies ability to heal. It slows it down a lot. I didn't touch my face while doing Accutane. Besides washing it and mositurizeing. That's bad medical care if your dermatologist is suggesting and giving extractions while you are doing your course. Does your dermatologist have a lot of background prescribing this medication? My dermatologist had prescribed it 1600 times before me and was very clear about the dos and the do nots. Judging by other peoples responses it sounds like they had the same information.

I do have a 2 inch scar on my arm from when I was on Accutane, I was moving a Fake Christmas tree and a wire in the branches gouged into my arm pretty good. It took weeks for it to even scab over and it didn't fully heal for a few months. That scar is raised and bright white on my arm now two years later. So I have experience with how Accutane slows down your healing process.

Reguardless of what your dermatologist tells you, avoid extractions even if it is done by a professional. Your running a big risk of leaving scars on your face. Accutane will dry the acne you have out. You just need to give it time. You haven't been on the medication that long. Lots of people do not see marked improvement till month 3 and later. Have patience and let the meds do their job. For the sake of you skin, please do not have extractions, pick, or pop any acne you have.

Whats going on you guys I know the extraction wasnt such a great idea and it did bring out more material to the surface and the same places i got the extraction is where i would break out but I did a 2 week bactrim And lowered to 20mg while on it this week im going back to 40mg this accutane journey hasnt been easy Before this I had bad acne then I took Doxycikine with dermovate and my face was super clear probably the best it was and then after 4 months i started breaking out again im trying to hold up till month 3 is when people say it gets better

You need to use a really good moisturizing cream. Don't use lotions, they are not moisturizing enough. I used CeraVe moisturizing cream in the tub. Eucerin makes a good one too that a lot of people use. Aquaphor makes is a good brand to look at too.

Once I started with the ceraVe I used it in the AM and PM and didn't have a issue with dry skin anymore during my course. Lips on the other hand became my worst enemy.

Ive been using Lubi derm moisturizer with wheat in it also its non condomgenic (or how ever its spelled) anyways I cant get those brands cause im not back in the US yet but the mositurizer seems to help Alot but right now my grandma put me some aloe vera straight from the plant she says its good for red marks? Is this true because my scars have been healing super slow and hopefully this helps cause i have to go back to school soon but today my skin caught a break its less red and i feel like its clearing up but i have these two nodule in my both sides of my jawline and its going to away but its quite purple and im hoping the aloe vera helps this heal. Any advice on this would help thanks

DAY 78 what's up you guys I'm about to finish month 3 soon I can't believe it's only been 78 days feels like forever I haven't posted In a month but my acne CLEARED UP ALOT like 75% prednisone helped a lot I just have a stubborn area and it's like a group on my cheek but I feel like I got past the hardest part I just got left with some pretty red marks I've been using Aloe vera and recently started using oatmeal for about 2 weeks now and it helped my redmarks a lot so there not as red is there anything I can do for red marks ?????? also I noticed... I started getting indents on my left side of my face (2nd pic) will these go away after treatment is finished??? I never had them they seem to be ice picks I've been on 20mg but next month I'm going up to 30mg I weight 130 BY THE WAY this isn't my room at my grandmas house and it's my little cousins room

Also I wanted to say that I had a really bad initial breakout It was terrible and broke out a lot on my jawline which I never did before
