Amazing progress!!! It is so wonderful to see. :) your skin looks so smooth and pretty.

I am just a day or so ahead of you and my lips have started to crack back at the corners. So painful! The Dr Dans really helps with that. I layer dr dans and then aquaphor on top of it if my lips are really bad.

It is so unbelievably nice to be able to put makeup on a clear face...no bumps or blemishes to have to cover. This medicine is amazing.

We are about the half way point if you are doing 20 weeks like me!

Thank you guys! You guys are encouraging :) this medicine is really amazing I'm so glad I gave accutane a shot. It may be a rocky one but it helps so much! Bordercol my lips were so horrible when I went to the dr he gave me samples of dr dans its done wonders my dr also said I could put cortizone cream on my lips then put dr dans on and after doing that for a few days my lips aren't even peeling anymore. I only have to apply it a couple or few times a day. I didn't think it would but the time is flying by!

Day 74:

Nothing new to report still. I will admit I tried to pop the cyst that is still lingering. :( I couldn't help it, its the only thing still holding on for dear life on my face. I got very little to come out of it. Dangit!

Day 83:

Time sure is flying! Nothing new to report, the remaining cyst on my face seems to be shrinking more and more each day. Got a pretty good sunburn going on, I couldn't help it I miss being in the sun all day! Still have a rash on my arm, safe to say its not poison ivy, must be an accutane rash.

So I missed a call from my dermatologist office, but they left a message saying I had an appt for the 14th but that my dermatologist is no longer there and they need to reschedule me with someone else. UGH!! Not sure what happened but most drs that leave give some kind of notice to their patients.

Anyone had to change dermatologists during their accutane treatment? How smooth was the transition? Do they try to follow the same plan as the old dr or do they switch it up? Do I need to do anything on ipledge or does the new dr do that? -Thanks for any help, so frustrating!

Hey, first of all I want to tell you that you are making amazing progress! Your results are looking great.

I had to switch dermatologists in the start of my 'journey' and I didn't have any issues & I didn't have to do anything special for ipledge.

I've been having crazy lip issues too, not really chapped though. I'm having some sort of reaction worry blisters and the skin on my lips sloughs/peels off and leaves raw tissue. It's been so bad that I've contemplated if I can really make it through this or not. They might want to lower my dose too and I really don't want to :/ I'm only on 30mg a day.

Ugh, the trials and tributes of Accutane.

Thanks Nicole! Hopefully it will be a smooth transition between doctors.

Have you tried Dr Dan's yet? It worked wonders on my chapped lips. I also put cortizone cream on my lips at night and then dr dans over the top. They still peel but not as much as before. I wish there was a quick fix :(

I've tried the Dr Dans and really wasn't impressed, it didn't help me at all. But they prescribed me Desonide ointment (a steroid) which seems to definitely help.

A quick fix would be awesome! Haha

Day 92:

Feels like forever but time is flying by. The only cyst left on my face is still holding on for deal life but is very very minimal. I still get regular pimples every now and then but they only last for a day and then their gone. I still get stys every now and then but Ive become a pro at treating them before they get bad. Bones still ache, lips are still chapped and my nose hurts so bad. Ive come to terms with having to stick vaseline (switching between carmex, blistex, aquaphor and cortisone cream) up my nose at least 3-4 times a day. My nose is cracking so bad, haven't ever experienced it so bad before.

One weird thing I have been noticing lately is getting pimples on other parts of my body. I haven't ever had acne on my body. And its just randomly a little pimple like bump on my legs or arm. I've only gotten 4 so far but they start off looking like a pimple then end up looking like a blister thats popped. They hurt too :( I didn't really think about it much until the 3rd or 4th one.

Another thing, I think my earring hole on my ear may be closing? Not sure but its been scabbing over for awhile now. I keep picking at it and it just kind of scabs back over.

I'll have to ask my new dr at my Monday appt.

Hey Mandy! Glad to hear things are still going well for you! I'm about a week behind you and I'm experiencing similar side effects. The nose issue really set in in the last two weeks though seems to be letting up a little? I've also noticed new small whiteheads in random places! One on my lower arm, one on my upper arm, one on my leg, and one on my shoulder blade. It's so weird! That's been over a two week span so not a huge issue and they are SO tiny I can literally brush them off, but it's bizarre. Mine don't hurt though so that's a plus.

Not sure what to tell you about the ear piercing. I can say that I'm loving the results of accutane but I'm pretty ready to be off of it. I'm sick of the achiness and general ill feeling I have while on this stuff. It's a very small price to pay for clear skin and I don't regret it at all, but it's not exactly "fun."

I feel you Breakitoutnow! No fun at all :( My new dr didn't shed light on anything! -Frustrating but I will just look to everyone here and the internet for advice Lol. Thats so crazy about the little white heads, I haven't experienced that but I would gladly take that over the blister looking things. Hope things are all going well for you! We're getting closer to the finish line!!

Hey! You look amazing! I totally know what you mean by the pierced ear hole closing. I have the same issue!! I usually take my earrings out before bed and put them back in the morning. Every morning there is a little scab and it hurts to push the earring back in but I still do it because I don't want the holes to close completely. I have been putting aquaphor on them and it seems to help. We are getting so close to being done! Woohoo!!!

Most of month 3 I was pretty much all clear and then randomly at the end of the month I started getting very small pimples that would last a couple days but I kept getting 2 or 3 a day for a good week or so. They seemed to have stopped now and I have been totally clear for 1 or 2 weeks.

I also got pimples in strange places on my body. I got one on the top of my hand. How crazy is that!? I think my skin is looking so much smoother now and it even looks good without any makeup on which is amazing. Oh and I LOVE that I only have to wash my hair once a week. It saves so much time!! Getting closer to the finish line!

Hey Bordercol! Glad to hear you're all clear, I'm almost there! So you still put your earrings in? One of mine was so bad I couldn't even get my earring in the ear, so I haven't tried since. I was afraid my earring holes would close too, I should probably keep trying to get my earrings in there. Cheers, we're getting closer!!

Day 98:

I have about 3 sores on my scalp, they are a little crusted over. I read some blogs that talked about flakiness on the scalp guessing this is about the same thing so trying the dandruff shampoos they suggested. Hopefully that works, because the brush bristles catch the sores every time!

I feel so drained of energy all the time. I really need to find some motivation. Maybe I'll start jogging I think that will help out alot and if it helps get me out of this slump, I'm all for it!

Hey Mandy! Thanks so much for posting. I started the beginning of May. 40mg first month, 60 mg sec month, and 80 mg for July and August. I will be finished by Oct. :) The first couple of months my energy levels were great, but this past month it has hit me. Even though it seems damn near impossible to find some motivation with exercising it really does help. I do zumba, and elliptical 4-5 times a week for 30 min, and it really has helped with my energy levels. It is so crazy how fast time is flying. I can't believe I will be done in 8 wks!!! And your skin looks amazing!!!!!!!
