One year ago I had a sudden rash like acne that just did not want to go away. Since then I have tried antibiotics, birth control pills, Epiduo, Differin, various treatments and none of it helped. I have had acne before but usually the treatment worked more effectively then.
One entire year has passed, and I still haven't managed to get rid of it. Next week I'm going to start on Accutane, hoping that it will clear this up.
So, on my birthday I am choosing to stay inside because I don't want to go out in public and show my awful face. I'm just going to skip my birtday this year.
Her I will update my progress (at least I hope that there will be any progress), maybe some of you will follow me on my Accutane journey
Day 0:Pre-Accutane
- dry and chapped lips (I have never had it before, weird)
- dry eyes (no idea why, maybe lack of proper sleep lately)
- dry rough skin overall, mainly on my cheeks (skin around the nose and chin feels OK/smooth)
- redness
- small bumps, feels/looks worse on the right side of my face than on my left
- Left side a little bit rough but not so much
- Little bit itchy
Day 8:
Haven't started on Accutane.
-Less irritated skin
- No makeup
- Using no cleansers at all
- No acne creams
- Alittle bit moisturizer when neccessary
- A few pimples that appeared when I started using Differin, they haven't disappeared yet
- Less itchy skin
- Skin does not feel so rough, but not entirely smooth either
The blood results were just fine and I got my prescription for Accutane. I have already been to the pharmacy and bought Accutane.
However, I don't think that I am going to go through it. The side effects are so scary and I think I want to try to fix this with something else instead.
I have stopped using any makeup, any cleansers, anything at all and I think that my skin is a little bit better already.
It seems less red and irritated. Differin made me break out like hell, so all the pimples I have are because of Differin. Hopefully, they will heal and go away on their own.
