Day 21

Exfoliating my lips with the Cure Natural Aqua Gel is amazing. It's made my dry lips much more manageable today. Everyone needs to buy that stuff!

My face is definitely starting to dry out. I noticed more flakes on my chin this morning. After my dentist appointment I had some flakes in my laugh lines. Now it's really time to start moisturizing. How many times have I said this so far? Too many.

The zit I developed near my chin is just looking lovely. It's nice and red. Attractive, I know. wink.png

I think the rash (or whatever it is) on my thigh is getting a bit bigger. It don't look bad, but little red bumps still aren't fun. Going to make sure I'm moisturizing that and putting Cortizone on it whenever it itches. If I could just stop scratching it, I'm sure it would go away.

I figured it's time I post some recent photos. There really hasn't been much of a change since I started taking Accutane.

Right side of my face: The marks on my cheek are just red marks leftover from pre-Accutane acne. Along my hairline there is still a bump from the zit I got during my first week on 'tane. Close to my chin there is a bump from a zit I had a while back. I can't remember if that popped up during Accutane. I think it did.

Left side of my face: Again, what you see on my cheek is red marks. Near my chin you can see my new zit! Cute, isn't it? tongue.png This is the only active acne I have on my face right now. I do think there is something developing on my cheek though. I feel something under the skin. sad.png The spots on my chin are just red marks. The reddest mark though is from my own stupidity... There was a blackhead there that was a bit more noticeable than the others. So, I squeezed it this evening. I knew I shouldn't have because it didn't want to budge. I kept squeezing it though. Oops. Now it's a nice spot! sad.png

PLL is like a secret addiction of mine... it's so good (in the ridiculously bad way)! Sometimes I laugh at their utter stupidity!

Lol! Ditto! It's definitely a great show if you love a little mystery! I can't wait to see what happens next!

Aww. Thanks, Katie! smile.png

Awwww yay!!! I'm totally an acne.org cheerleader! lol hahaha

My neck and back SUCK today, so it's been hard for me to stay positive. Stupid near-car accident. I was very whiny today. I think I'm going to take a nap because I couldn't fall asleep until 2 AM last night due to the pain. Grrrrr. Hoping to feel happier soon. We all have our off days!

SHOOT!!!

I totally posted all these nice responses to Lily and it got erased on here. sad.png I'll respond again later...too tired. Blah.

Oh no! I'm sorry, Gina! I hope you feel better soon. Try to get some rest!

I got an email of something you posted here and it appears to be missing now, so that must be what you were talking about. Honestly, I'm so glad I don't get negative comments from my friends and family. I would not tolerate it if I did. It's certainly helpful to have supportive people around!

Hi Rachel and everybody!

I ordered my Cure last night, I can't wait tiil it comes.

For anyone out there worrying about coloring your hair, here's my experience today: Told my stylist that I started taking accutane and gave her all the details of how it's affected my hair. When I started accutane my scalp was super itchy and a little flaky and I was shedding more than normal but that has all settled down and I've been using a dandruff shampoo twice a week, a hydrating shampoo the other days and taking biotin. My scalp is now a little sensitive but my hair is not excessively dry or anything. So she decided to use this hair color they have in the salon by Redken that has no amonia in it and is really mild. It stays on a little longer than most (35 min. vs 20 min.) but it was not uncomfortable at all. A little itchy but very bearable. And now the greys are covered and I am bee-yoo-tee-full, haha! She also did a deep conditioning treatment which helped. So anyway it was a successful experience into my first coloring on accutane! Yay!!

Now if only these stupid cysts would just go away. Come on accutane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay! I'm so excited you order the Cure gel. I hope you love it! biggrin.png Did you order it through Amazon?

And that's great to hear your salon visit went well. I'll have to keep that in mind if I decide to dye my hair during my course. Thanks!!

Yep, got it through Amazon and it's already shipped. I love that site.

YAYAYYY... spreading the Cure love! You're going to be so glad you got it! I ordered mine probably 40 days ago and use it around 4-5 times a week... it's maybe 25% gone. Totally worth the money if you ask me!

Oh no! I'm sorry, Gina! I hope you feel better soon. Try to get some rest!

I hardly get negative comments about anything at all... I think it's because all my friends are terrified of me eusa_whistle.gif which I'm totally okay with!

I haven't told any of my friends that I'm taking accutane or any of my extended family. I tend to obsess over stuff and I didn't want anybody asking me how it was going who doesn't really understand what it's like to have cystic acne or unintentially telling me negative things. I do have really supportive friends but my extended family (as in my sister and mom) have a tendency to say things that piss me off, haha. My immediate family knows and they've been great, and of course now my stylist knows but that hair color was important! 🙂

Awesome that your Cure gel already shipped! I just love Amazon! 😀

My extended family doesn't know about me taking Accutane. I told three of my closest friends though. We don't discuss it, although I'm happy to answer any questions they have. Earlier tonight one of my friends was actually asking me how it's working. Hell, I'll talk to anyone about it if it came up. I'm cool with it. Maybe it's a little weird that I'm so comfortable discussing this? Haha!

I definitely understand why you wouldn't want to discuss it with some people though. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that would only have negative things to say. And we certainly don't need to listen to any of that!

I thought I was kind of weird for not telling people, haha. My husband was like, "I can't believe you're not telling your best friend" but I just know I'd talk it to death and I'm trying to avoid that except with all of you guys though. That feels more like a support group since we're all in it together, strength in numbers and all that happy crap. 🙂 Who knows, six months is a long time so I may cave.

Going to bed now - I'll talk to ya tomorrow! May we all wake up zit free (or at the very least no new ones). 🙂

Hey guys, its Beautiful Disasters (Betsy) My profile locked me out... I can't log on to it anymore. It is claiming my username isn't a username they have on their site... WTF Acne.org. So I will be posting on this name for now on I guess. Unless something gets figured out with the other account. I will still be posting under my original log though.

Day 22

Ugh. What a day. This afternoon my eyes were feeling so tired and I had a bit of a backache. My derm said to call him if I have any kind of ache or pain, but it really wasn't that bad, so I didn't worry about it. Plus, that could just be due to my poor posture when I'm at work. Terrible, I know. I did have a backache on Sunday, but it went away after I rested for a bit.

The zit I developed near my chin is still there. It isn't sore anymore like it was yesterday. It has also gotten smaller. Yesterday it was a little swollen, which was not attractive! You know those swollen zits that make your face just a little deformed looking¦ Yeah. sad.png I kept Neosporin on it for a while yesterday evening and then I put a salicylic acid spot treatment on it last night and this morning.

The other zit I felt forming on my left cheek is starting to surface. It's nothing major so far and hopefully it'll stay that way! I might be getting another zit on my scalp. This one is on the left side of my head. There's a small bump there and I'm not sure if it just popped up or if it's been there and I just haven't noticed.

The outside of nose is pretty dry. I think that's partially due to Accutane, but also due to the fact that I've been blowing my nose quite a bit.

The rash I had on my collarbone is completely gone thanks to the Cortizone I kept putting on it. Now if only I could remember to reapply that stuff to the rash on my thigh¦ *scratches thigh rash*

Anywho. I will be spending my night stuffing my face with my grandma's lasagna and watching the season premiere of Pretty Little Liars with the best friends. I love that show! Does anyone else watch it?

I have not seen that show. I hope your rashes go away!! I still haven't experienced that. Waiting though, haha. I've had backaches and find that if I sit a certain way for a long time, I definitely feel stiff and hard to move. Going to the movies isn't very fun for me anymore, haha.

The Cure is this stuff quite a few of us use to exfoliate. It's not a scrub though. But it gets all the flakes off and it's super gentle. It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin at all. This is their website if you want to read more about it: http://www.japalang.sg/cure/About_Cure.html

Love PLL! You should catch up!!

I posted some new pictures on Monday. They're back on page 10.

Got my account back!! Wooo hooo

Yeah, I think that's what causes my backaches, too. So uncomfortable! Fortunately they aren't bad though!

Day 23

I woke up to the littlest whitehead on the left side of my face near my mouth. What is it with the left side of my face on Accutane? I think I've only had one zit on the right side since I started.

My left cheek also has these teeny, tiny little flesh-colored bumps. I'm not sure what it is exactly. Dryness, perhaps? Doesn't look like zits. Can't dry skin cause little bumps? I noticed them two days ago, so I've been making sure to put my CeraVe cream on my cheek at night. Hasn't made a difference. The right side of my face is perfectly smooth and bump-free.

My nose still has a bunch of little blackheads and it feels pretty rough.

My nose is still pushing out blackheads too. I think I am going to get some pore strips and see if I can't get them out. When I wash my face it seems like some come out. I have a lot of them on the tip of my nose. Not sure about the flesh colored bumps. Dry skin causes a whole bunch of little rashes and stuff on me though. I get dry patches with little flesh colored bumps on my arms if I am super dry. Like I am now. The bumps are tiny tiny though like the tip of a pin tiny.

I hadn't noticed any of mine going away after cleansing, but I used the Cure gel tonight and some seem to gone (or at least less noticeable). I've never had any luck with pore strips. I'm too scared to try them right now though! I'm afraid it would tear my skin up! Lol.

That actually sounds like the bumps on my cheek. They're really tiny and hard to see unless I'm in the right lighting. I can feel them though. I hate the feeling of rough skin! So, maybe they are caused by dryness. It does feel a bit better now after using the Cure gel.
