My nose is still pushing out blackheads too. I think I am going to get some pore strips and see if I can't get them out. When I wash my face it seems like some come out. I have a lot of them on the tip of my nose. Not sure about the flesh colored bumps. Dry skin causes a whole bunch of little rashes and stuff on me though. I get dry patches with little flesh colored bumps on my arms if I am super dry. Like I am now. The bumps are tiny tiny though like the tip of a pin tiny.
I hadn't noticed any of mine going away after cleansing, but I used the Cure gel tonight and some seem to gone (or at least less noticeable). I've never had any luck with pore strips. I'm too scared to try them right now though! I'm afraid it would tear my skin up! Lol.
That actually sounds like the bumps on my cheek. They're really tiny and hard to see unless I'm in the right lighting. I can feel them though. I hate the feeling of rough skin! So, maybe they are caused by dryness. It does feel a bit better now after using the Cure gel.
I have the bumps on my cheeks too! They're small and flesh colored and I'm positive they're not clogged pores, but they're just hanging out. I'm wondering when they'll make their exit!

Since I've started, I noticed those flesh colored bumps on my face as well. I don't know if I have any right now, but I know before my IB I had SO many.

Glad I'm not the only one! I was afraid they were zits at first and I did NOT want that many zits sprouting on my cheek. No thanks! 😛 Hopefully it's just from the skin being dry...

I always thought these were clogged pores?? No??
I going to go ahead and ask my derm about that next week too. Although you are the first to be seen next week. Your Wednesday and Katie and I are both Thursday.. Maybe between the 3 of us we can get enough questions asked and answered so we have a clearer picture of what is going on... I think I need to write a list of things to ask her about.
I'm definitely going to ask about the little bumps. I hope it's just dry skin though. I can't really tell if they're getting any better yet...
I'll ask my derm about the jawline too. He'll probably wonder why I care about jawline acne since I don't have any! But I'm very curious. I want to know why that's such a common acne breeding ground on this drug.

We definitely need to ask our derms some questions! My dermatologist kind of looks at me like I'm an idiot sometimes, but I just want to know what the heck is going on with certain things. I believe the small flesh colored bumps are clogged pores (at least with me) because I noticed where I spotted them, zits have sprouted after. Kind of gross. But maybe yours aren't the same as mine? I need my jawline acne question answered. I wonder if our derms will even have an idea why. Someone has to know!

I'm very curious to see what we all find out. This should be interesting! Hopefully we get some answers!
I haven't had any of the bumps turn into zits. YET. And I'll keep my fingers crossed that they don't. But I have no idea what they could be...
I bet ya $5 mine won't have a answer either. Ya know now that you mention it, my dermatologist has never mentioned cumulative dose either...
Im not too worried about it, because she plans on me being on it for 6 to 7 months anyways and at 60 MG I will hit my cumulative dose in late july. I will be on this for sure till Aug maybe even Sept depending on my progress. Funny that most people only need 5 or 6 month of the medication with severe acne and me with moderate acne might need 7 months... WTF why is my acne so resistant?!?!
I mentioned the cumulative dose to my derm the day I got my prescription. He just said that's not the way he does it... Lol. He is planning for me to take Accutane for four months and then if I still need it, I'd take it for another two months. I'm going to push for those extra two months so I can meet my cumulative dose, otherwise I won't.
That's crazy! But, I guess everyone is different! At least you'll know you got a good amount of Accutane in your system and hopefully it'll banish the acne for good.

Mine looks at me like I am a idiot too sometimes. I think it is because we ask all these questions and we have other stories to compare things with because of this forum. Which bring up more questions because if I didn't have you guys to talk to and compare I would probably think breaking out like this is normal this far in and so on.. I think mine gets frustrated because I act like I know about the drug and other peoples experiences with it, and she probably isn't used to someone knowing as much as we do about it. In fact I think we probably know more about peoples experiences and progress and side effects than they do. Half the time other people aren't reporting the side effects to the derms because they are scared they will be taken off the drug and what not ya know? We hear all about everything on this website. It might be smart for them to browse these logs..
I think the bumps (at least for me) are milia: http://www.trinityderm.com/trinityderm/comskincondetails.aspx?id=33
A few weeks ago, I used a new kind of lotion and overnight I got a ton of them on my forehead. Some of them DID end up being clogged pores, but there were lots that weren't and they eventually did go away.

Ohh nice, thats not the way he does it! It seems like most other peoples doctors do it that way. Probably a reason for that. Not to mention in the Accutane pamphlet is talks about cumulative doses and the success with those doses... Hmmm I would for sure push for the extra 2 months. It would be a shame to have gone through all this for nothing, just because that's not the way he does it lol. I am sure if you talk to him about your concerns and stuff he will allow the other 2 months. It's not like you are looking for a year at the dose or something unheard of. Just the normal dosing. At least I hope he gives you the other 2 months. My dermatologist is a pleaser so I can say that she would give me the extra 2 months if I had good reasoning for it. She at least hears me out when I am talking to her. I can't say the same for other doctors. Some of them are pretty hard headed

Yeah, I do think we often know more than the derms. We're on here all the time reading about everyone else's progress! We know a lot about this drug. More than they'd probably expect us to.
I wouldn't know anything if I wasn't on this forum!

I had actually just started wondering if they were millia. Haven't had those since I was using a Clarisonic. Mine definitely aren't as big as the ones in the picture though!

I have heard of a lot of people with millia and are on accutane. I wonder if it is normal for millia to develop while on tane, kind of like eczema is very common to develop while on the drug... Hmm something to look into. Mine also look like that but much smaller. Like no one would notice them on me unless I pointed them out.

Yeah, my derm is a bit odd... His dad is my physician and he's even weirder. I'm not sure how many times my derm has prescribed Accutane or how often he even treats acne patients. He seem to focus on other skin issues more. I definitely hope he'll let me take it for an extra two months. I'd prefer to not have to take Accutane a second or third time! I'll certainly express my concerns about not getting a cumulative dose. He's a pretty nice guy, so hopefully it'll work out.

Same with mine. They're so tiny. You can only see them if you're close up in a mirror and in the right lighting. Lol.
Mine are also smaller and less noticeable. I bet other people can't even see it... I can only notice when I tilt my head a certain way. It would make sense that it's milia, since it's caused by trapped dry skin. Sounds like exfoliation and time will get rid of them, especially since accutane causes lots of skin renewal.

Lmao! I have to tilt my head so the light will shine on my face in the right way so I can see them. 😛 So, you aren't alone!
I'll keep exfoliating and moisturizing!

Mine were pretty small, too. Those ones in the picture are pretty damn huge.
