Thank you so much! 🙂 🙂

The toe situation is tough. This thing just doesn't want to heal, haha. I'll live though. 🙂

Thank you so much! 🙂 It took a while, but every zit and bit of frustration was worth it for a clear outcome.

You will get to this point, and I promise it will feel amazing! I have a big part of myself back that acne took away. 😀

Hey cutiesss! It's been so long, I am so sorry. I just caught up with Betsy last night, but I wanted to catch up with everyone!

I have not broken out in 5 weeks! I thought I had a blackhead and tried to get rid of it, but it wasn't anything but a speck and so I peeled a small layer of skin off on accident, that's the only scab I have because I was naughty

:P.

My cheeks, forehead, and chin feel so smooth it's unbelievable. My skin is dry, not too flaky, but when you look up close there is small flakies.

I have been wearing no makeup for about a week now, and by no makeup I mean no eyeliner, mascara, anythang! It feels incredible.

I still have 7 weeks left on Accutane, so I'm happy to reassure myself that I won't relapse.

I have definitely been feeling the effects of 80mg now though, I've been so tired no matter what, and my back and feet kil me after work. My nose is so disgusting on the inside, and my lips peel like noooo otha!

I will take the side effects over acne anyday

:) I actually cannot wait to get my senior pictures done and enjoy school without having to wake up 130249 hours earlier.

I really need recommendations on a good powder with some coverage that won't break me out! I'm waiting until after I'm off Accutane to wear any powder because of how dry my skin is, but it would be nice to try some out!

I'm sorry about my delay ;( I start my last year of high school in 2 weeks, still have some AP homework to finish, and am applying to colleges in a month for early admission. I will definitely be around though more before school starts.

I LOVE YOU ALL!

I really like Alima Pure mineral powder. I wear it over a very sheer tinted moisturizer (Aveda) and they keeps the powder from making my skin look even more dry. Gina does the same thing I think. It's working well for me...I am still breaking out a lot and more coverage would look better on me, but I don't mind right now - I want my skin to be able to breath! I think it would give you plenty of coverage since you're CLEAR 🙂

Taylor, I've been thinking of ya and how things have been going for you. FIVE WEEKS? That is such a long time to be acne free! I'm so happy for youuu! You're going to enjoy your senior year of highschool acne free! 🙂 I feel ya on the side effects. They're so annoying to put up with for a half a year, but so worth it for the end result -- clear skin! Yaaay!!

Katie sad.png I got a zit on my forehead. Kill me.

Nooo! WTF. I was reading your log earlier and I saw that you got a new one. Sorry to hear about that bugger. Just be glad that your derm is going to allow you to do additional months, if needed. Oh, and today I woke up and noticed a small red bump on the right side of my face above my jawline. Appears to be a small little zit with no head, just a small bump. I don't know where the heck new acne is coming from at this point. It's a bummer, isn't it? I'm crossing my fingers for you. It's been too damn long into this medication to have it not work.

That is exactly how my zit started yesterday. Just a small red bump and I was 99% sure it was a zit. Taylor said it could be a bug bite or a scratch... I was hopeful when she said that, this morning I looked in the mirrior and saw it got bigger and more painful and now had a awesome white head on it. My heart sank a tad. I thought I was in the clear at this point. I went almost 4 weeks without a zit on my face. It's a bummer. Plus this one zit sticks out like a sore thumb. When I had 20 of them they all blended lol. Now I have this bright red swollen thing. I'm hoping tomorrow it goes down in swelling and redness. For now it is back to neosporin cream. Sad

I hope your turns out to be nothing and it goes away. How's life on your end?

Hopefully by the weekend it is starting to go away. Geeze. New zits are really mood killers. When I looked in the mirror and saw the middle bump that was on my face yesterday, my heart sank a little bit as well. I'm surprised that it's going away. I was expecting it to increase in size. Thank the acne gods for letting that one go away...I can't handle new zits with the semester starting in a week!

Life on my end is good! I am enjoying much needed time off and trying to take care of some things before the semester starts. I've been applying to jobs, had one interview (and found out today in an e-mail I didn't get the job, I was so effing nervous and my nerves got the best of me), and I've been taking care of some college stuff. I had my orientation for college today and I have to figure out getting the textbooks and whatnot. I'm probably going to rent them from this cheap website. I'm excited to start classes this semester, yet nervous! It's always a little nerve-wracking getting back into the swing of things. Plus, I think I'm enjoying this time off too much. I've been so relaxed. 🙂

I have no actives right now and have been clear since the end of July, so almost one month!! I'm hoping I can stick it out till the end of my course, being clear. That would be so amazing.

The new zit is for sure a mood killer. Right above my eyebrow so it is very noticeable. I wish it was half a inch down and hiding in my eyebrow. Although this zit could have been a lot worse. ( not a dare, acne gods ) It is still a bump and sticking out of my face though. I can't wait for it to be flat. So ugly. Luckily that white head on my chin was just a white head. It didn't turn into anything, it was tiny and I scratched it off and it didn't come back or turn into a red mark or anything. Whew. God knows I don't need anymore of those.

Bummer to hear you didn't get the job you interviewed for! Another one will come along though and you'll nail it. Its nice they let you know you didn't get the job though, most places don't do that at all. Leave you wondering for the next week. Then you usually gather you didn't fit the bill. Are you doing online classes or all on campus? I would totally rent the books! Much cheaper and what the hell are you going to do with them afterwards? Most people sell them anyways so makes sense to get them cheaper and send them back when your finished! It would be very difficult for me to walk back into a classroom! I would be nervous as hell! Its been so long for me!

Woop woop no actives!! A month of being clear! Amazing!

It hurts so bad, and will probably take a decade to heal..

Day 148

  • Face: Clear!! Marks are fading and I have been clear for about a month now. I'm crossing my fingers that things can finally stay clear. I start fall semester next Wednesday and it's so awesome to start it with a nice complexion. I remember how last semester I wanted to hide because of my acne. I didn't want to talk to anyone. That was awful, I'm glad to say that is a part of the past.
    • Side Effects: The usual side effects, chapped lips, and the inside of my nose became dry again. It was fine for a while. Now it's all dry and crusty. My eyes have been bugging me, I have the occasional red-eye that visine seems to be helping. Also, I had to stand at college orientation yesterday for a while and my back was KILLING me. Omg, ouch. That was unpleasant. I wasn't smiling when I had my ID photo taken, hahaha. My toe still will not heal. It'll scab up, and then as soon as I take a bath the scab falls off and it becomes red tender fleshy kind of skin. I don't know what to do anymore. It doesn't hurt, and it doesn't appear to be infected, so I am hoping that it just won't heal because of the Accutane. I'm praying that's all that boils down to, because I'm really getting sick of this. Other than these things, everything is pretty good.

[*]Mood: My mood is pretty good, despite not getting a job that I had an interview for last week. Chalking that up & moving on. I have a feeling things are going to be alright for me, and I'm trying to look on the bright side. I spent four hours today applying to part-time jobs online, so I'm hoping my hard work will bring me something eventually.

Its been so long for me!

Woop woop no actives!! A month of being clear! Amazing!

Hopefully those two are the last of the zits that you get on Accutane, and it's clear from here out. I think it will be! You went so long without breaking out.

I've applied to so many jobs, so I'm hoping something else comes my way. This job didn't exactly pay so amazingly anyway...so I'm not completely bummed, just a little bummed. I'm going to be taking classes on campus. There is no way I'd be able to do online classes. I'm not that motivated and I would end up slacking off and failing, haha. :)

Oh my god Taylor, that looks painful! Maybe try putting some Neosporin on it? I hate how fragile our skin is on this drug. :(

snapshot-031.jpg?t=1345740603

Much better yayy! I'm hoping by Saturday it looks really healed up because I'm going to the zoo with my boyfriend, his parents, his 2 sisters, and his 2 neices.

I know his family very well, well dating him 2 years, I'm around them a lot, and they're amazing but I would love to not have to explain why my cheek looks like a bear chewed on it.

Hi Katie! I'm so excited about your school adventure. My daughter started her senior year on Monday and she was so excited too-I can't beleive she'll be graduating in May! She had so many AP credits from high school that she'll be able to finish college in three years (she took some heavy loads in college too) - she can't wait to get out into the work world.

Having clear skin to start school will be the best, right?! :) How's the toe healing coming along? I bet it's the accutane causing it to go so slow - I find that every scratch I get takes forever to heal - I get so depressed when I see a new one or when I realized I've scraped myself. I hope it's starting to look better for you.

Hi Taylor! You are truly hilarious. Every time I read one of your posts it puts a smile on my face. Your scratch looks much better! I think by tomorrow it will be really faded and you'll have a great time at the zoo. I love the zoo - we used to live in Denver and they have an awesome zoo that I took my kids to all the time. Have fun!

Day 150

Holy crap! 150 days on Accutane, are you kidding me? I remember when I first started this drug and I would look at other people's logs and think..."Day 150...I wish I was there." Now here I am! I can't believe how fast this whole course has gone by. But that's a good thing! :)

Still clear, also still dealing with some PIH and dry skin marks, but nothing awful.

So yesterday I went to Six Flags with my sister and a few of her friends...and we were standing in line for a ride. The first ride of the day...and all of a sudden I started to feel really lightheaded, and I ended up telling my sister I didn't feel right and then after that it only got worse. I ended up pretty much losing my vision, everything was extremely blurry and I was so scared. My sister and her friend held my hands because I wasn't walking right, I felt like fainting...and after that my vision came back, after we got out of the line. I felt better after I drank a bottle of water. I also realized right after this happened my chest hurt like I just ran a mile, and my head also hurt. My sister told me that my lips were very pale and I had beads of sweat under my eyes.

Nothing like that has ever really happened to me before. I fainted once after I got sun poisoning. Last year when I went to Six Flags I ended up feeling somewhat like I did today, but I didn't lose my vision. I don't think it was the Accutane...I think it was either my anxiety or dehydration. I'm prone to panic attacks. I used to get them pretty bad in 2008, and for some reason standing in lines in the heat just strikes my anxiety up, I guess. I'm sure the fact that I was a bit dehydrated didn't help the situation. I'm just glad I didn't faint...

I love the "timeline" you made, Kaydon. Just really impressive improvement. Your skin is looking great, happy for ya!

Thank you!! :) I love looking back on the progress I've made since I started. It hasn't been easy, but it certainly has been worth it.

Hey Stacey! How are you?!

Senior year - that is so exciting! That's awesome she'll be able to finish a year earlier. She sounds like a smart cookie. :)

Clear skin is such a blessing now. I'm so happy to be able to go to this college with clear skin. I won't be ashamed of my skin. My toe doesn't want to heal. I think it's not going to until I stop Accutane...in 36 days. Yikes! I can deal with it though. It's not all that bad, it's just annoying. I wish it would heal though. I'm sick of worrying about it! The cuts on Accutane are awful. I can't wait to have normal healing skin!

Katie that sounds really scary! I would have freaked out! I hope you are okay! It doesn't sound like accutane caused it to me. Water water water on this medication. I am sure you were dehydrated which I blame tane for but I think you felt the way you felt because of the dehydration. It could have been a panic attack too. Either way scary.

Only another month and you are done with this medication and you can heal that toe up! I'm sure it's a pain though. Atleast it's not ingrown anymore though. That would really suck!

Betsy, it was so scary! I don't think it's tane related either. It also could be low blood pressure. Whatever it was, it freaked me the hell out, haha. I was fine after drinking a ton of water though!

I'm definitely glad it's not ingrown again, I hope I never get one of them suckers again! I can deal with a scab that won't heal for the next month. 🙂

O m g Kaydon I'm so glad you're okay! Did you goto the doc or just let it pass???

I figured I'd do an update, since I work 5 days this week and have 9 days left before SENIOR YEAR.

So.. day.... 130!

I think it's a couple days less but whateva.

Sooo.. that tweezer scab thing, totally fell off and left no mark, it seriously looks like I made the story up.

In the past like 2 days, I feel like my skin looks incredible, it's weird! But a good weird :) Ahhh I'm so happy you guys.

The side effects have been getting worse though, it stinks! My lips need carmex 24/7 and my feet and back hurt so bad I feel like I'm 89.

I went to the zoo today! We walked, in the 90 degree weather, for 8 hours.. joy. But I did have a blast. When I got home though, I was so exhausted and felt like I worked a week straight with no sleep, which sucked! My feet were on fire too.. thanks Accutane!

Anywho, I can't believe I have 6 weeks left, because in 6 weeks, I feel like my skin could look incredible incredible, and I don't mean that in a conceited, braggy way I promise!

I just watched The Hunger Games and cried during a sad part by the way. I want this movie though!

ANYWHO.. I wanted to ask, are you guys still going to stick around even after you're done with Accutane? I'll miss you guys too much if you don't...

Katieeeeeeeeeeeee!! Wow, the almost passing out story is crazy. I had something similar happen to me a few years ago - I drank an iced caramel macchiato (which has three shots of espresso) really fast and almost passed out after that - I had kind of the same symptoms as you, my vision went a little black and I was super light headed and then I felt the cold sweat. I ended up drinking lots of water and the feeling went away. I think it was a combination of being dehydrated and the major amount of caffine messed with my blood sugar. I tend to get that light headed feeling a lot if I get up too fast or haven't eaten enough or if I get dehydrated - it sucks! I don't think it was the accutane except for the dehydrated part since accutane is so drying. Probably just all the factors you listed coming together caused you to feel that way. Yuck, righ?! It's the worst feeling and then it makes you feel freaked out which doesn't help. I think standing in lines does effect some people. My husband hates it! My kids and I decided he has something we call "waiting in line anxiety", haha. He gets so impatient and can't stand still, he has like a true physical reaction to it - same thing when he's driving in really congested traffic, he gets really stressed out. I wonder if it's kind of like a claustrophobic type thing.

I'm glad you're okay!!
