Welcome back! I've been started on 20mg too, which is why I think my side effects have been really mild. Always nice to have a new person joining in on the forums
Funny you mention that... Friend finding out about your account and what not. I was just talking about this today with a few ladies on here. That's exactly why I don't use my name on here or post photos of me. I came across a girls log that google cached on here and when you google acne or accutane on google images her face and log popped up. All the personal photos and everything. Not something I am willing to risk. I am very personal on here, very. But you won't catch my photos or first and last name on here. We need to be aware what you post online never goes away..
These pharmaceutical companies should hire us to be paid spokespeople for generic Accutane! I'd show my face for some $$$

Hi drummergurl! Honestly I wouldn't know what to say about these things. Have you tried talking to your doctor at all? If you are serious and say these things bother you, they should listen, or else they're not doing their job well and switch to a derm who cares. Tell them that it concerns you--then ask if it should concern you, or if you are just being hypersensitive to potential side effects? Sometimes our minds are suuuuuper powerful. But then again, who knows? Ask your doc!

I read a few pages of the new shtuff, and I saw an argument, I don't understand why people post on other's logs saying that this will help, and you're doing this wrong, when we're all on Accutane so obviously we've tried EVERYTHING else.

Drummergurl4u “ I just read your post. I think you should definitely tell your doctor about the side effects that you™re experiencing to see if they are happening because of the Accutane. It™s always good to let your doctor know everything that you™re experiencing during treatment.

You definitely need to speak to your dermatologist about this. It might be related to Accutane, it might not. You should really consult someone immediately before things get worse. I understand it embarrasses you, but you have to take care of yourself! If something is wrong you must speak up! I hope you figure out what's causing this and hopefully it's nothing serious.

Hi drummergurl. I would call or make an appointment with your derm or GP. Derms seem to be able to tell you if things are abnormal or not while on accutane. Lots of GPs don't know much about accutane from what I have noticed so probably best to talk to your derm. The twitching and lose of memory are pretty scary sounding. So for sure get that checked out. I have read some logs where people feel foggy cloudy while on the medication but forgetting entire conversations I haven't seen.
If I remember I saw a log of yours where you were having really bad headaches and had to get a cat scan and stuff? Did you ever get that done and see a neurologist? If your still having the headache and now twitching and memory loss is coming I would see the neurologist again, rule out anything that is neurological. Not to scare you or anything, but it's best to be safe 🙂
How long are you supposed me be on the medication? Are you close to reaching the end of your course?

Day 51
Approaching month 3. Blood test this weekend. Bring on 80mg, I'm ready for it.
These existing pimples on my face are so persistent! The huge one from last week on my jawline is still thereand still huge! It has no head, even though it kind of did earlier this week, and I even popped itand its still there. Its itchy at times and Ive even felt it throb with pain the past few days. The other cystic pimple on the right side of my face has decreased in size, but its still there.
These two cystic (I think thats what they are because they have no head) suckers on my forehead wont budge. Theyre sticking around.
I also woke up with a few small whiteheads on the ride side of my chin. I think Im on the verge of another breakout. Yaaayyyyyy, just in time for the weekend!

Dont you just hate when you pop a zit and it doesn't go away? Just fills back up and looks angry. I hope the white heads are just a fluke and your not getting another breakout.

I hope they're a fluke. But I also can see some pores that look clogged? There's very small little bumps & that makes me nervous. 🙁 Maybe I'm just paranoid. These breakouts have traumatized me.
Oh no! Breakouts into the 3rd month? How many actives overall would you say you have right now? I'm asking because my wedding is in 3 months and I seriously want, no, NEED, to have clear skin by then. Hopefully you will get bumped up if you're not having any major side effects!!!! Can't believe it's already almost 3 months.
Goodmorning! Aw Kaydon I'm sorry you're still breaking out, hopefully, as Betsy said, those whiteheads are a fluke! I hate the pimples or w/e they are with no head, they take FOREVER, and they always look so red and angry. I have clogged pore that turned into a tiny whitehead, and one beneath it. Since my skin is soo dry I'm going to leave them be and hopefully they'll flake off.
That's awesome your on 80 mg though! I hope that doesn't mean you'll have a breakout from switching, I have my fingers crossed for you! <3
You guys I am so sunburnt on my face! Stupid me for not wearing sunscreen, but I figured I wouldn't need it for only being outside for an hour, and not even staring at the sun, just outside in general driving. GOD.
Analog - It is my first car! It's my new baby.
Gina I know, I thought that the breakouts were over, and maybe Im just scared but you can never be too sure! Id say that I have a little over 10 actives on my face, I could be wrong. When things were real bad, I had over 20! So Im definitely not breaking out as bad as I was. These whiteheads are VERY tiny compared to the other ones I was getting, so maybe thats a good thing! Small whiteheads seem to go away fast, compared to the bigger ones. My derm thinks Ill see clearing in June (my 3rd month) & I hope shes right.
Taylor Good morning! Its okay, my fingers are crossed that its not a prelude to a massive breakout. I hate cystic pimples! This one on my forehead hasnt even flaked. Its just sitting there lookin fugly. I need it to heal!!

Aww. Im already sensitive to the sun when Im not on Accutane, so Accutane just makes it ten times worse! Im scared to do anything in the sun this summer. Im going to have to put a bottle of SPF on.

Katie I know what you mean. I am traumatized too, I sorry to hear your still breaking out this badly! Have you talked to your derm about getting the cystic ones injected? Maybe the m&m sized one anyways. I have like 6 clogged pores right under my eye beside my nose, I hope nothing happens with those. I think it is normal for us to live in fear on another breakout. We haven't had the best of luck so far. I know it will start to clear out soon for you though! I have a feeling things will turn around soon
I didn't think of asking her about getting the cystic pimple injected. It's so damn big though, I wish I would've asked her about it. My sister had a cystic pimple before that she got injected and her dermatologist told her if she would've waited, then they wouldn't have been able to inject it? I'm scared that these cystic pimples won't fully heal. I had one my last course of treatment and it shrunk down a lot, but the little bump didn't leave until many months after. I'm really hoping that doesn't happen with these. Thanks though - I read your log and I see you're making progress! I am so happy for you!!! You really deserve that after these long few months. I can't wait to have one full week with no new zits. I'll keep waiting for that day!
Maybe give a call to the dermatology office and see if they will inject them. It might be worth it. I've never had any thing injected before, but I see that people had good luck with that.
Of course since I posted I am clearing up I got a new white head and a big honker coming in on my jaw and forehead now........... Damn it. Looks like I spoke to soon as usual. It figures since I have plans to go out tomorrow night. Why not make me look like shit acne, why not!
I just took my makeup off, and it's actually scabbing?! That's a good sign I think? It's scary looking, I've never seen anything this large on my face before I don't think (except for the one that was on the other side of my jawline). I think if it doesn't go away soon I'm going to have to call my dermatologist about it.

I don't know why but my jaw (my jawline, actually) is looking pretty bad right now - never did I break out on my jawline until starting Accutane. I know the feeling of not looking forward to plans & I hope that we both are done with those days ASAP!!!!
Oh the joys of accutane. Was out last night, it's so hard to be sitting around with everybody drinking and playing drinking games, and to not be able to join in on the fun! Succeeded though, not one drop of alcohol. The next few months is going to be interesting..
It's surprising that the dryness is already kicking in. And I've had pretty much constant headaches. Oh how I've missed the tane... *slight sarcasm*
One tip, and I don't know if anyone else does it - is I wash my face in the shower and start applying moisturiser in the shower. Obviously I try not to let too much water run all over it and wash it right off - but it seems to help with the dryness quite abit (at least for me) when compared to applying moisturiser once I'm out of the shower and all dry.

Ugh, that must have really sucked! You can drink as long as you don't go overboard. I know that's really hard to do though. It's hard for me to do, I went overboard once since being on Accutane. I even blacked out..and that scared the hell out of me, so now I usually have one to three beers when out with friends, and no liquor for me! Oh & not to mention the awful hangover the next morning. It's just not worth it.
What mg are you on? I'm starting 80mg in June and I'm so ready for it. Surprisingly, I'm not even that dry! I've only been moisturizing once a day. The headaches should go away after month one! I had some really awful ones when I started.

He gave me a nasal spray which has been helping. So I've been back on the accutane for a week! I'm so happy that I didn't have to stop. Unfortunately I broke out during the two weeks that I was taking it irregularly but now that is all clearing up. With the exception of one angry beast on the side of my face. Still, I am thrilled, and so ready for clear skin by the fall! My lips had unchapped a little during the break and I had almost forgotten how annoying they are! There haven't been any miracle lip fixes while I've been away, have there?
Whoa, Kaydon, congrats on finishing your semester and AMAZING grades! What are you studying? And also, of course, on your 80 mgs!
Day 53
I can't help it, but I'm really feeling down about my acne right now. Just another one of those days. While my face has somewhat improved, I'm don't feel like I'm getting the results that I would've liked by day 53. Fifty three days and 105 pills swallowed & I am still dealing with these nasty things on my face. The breakouts certainly aren't as bad as they were when I first started though, so I'm thankful for that.
I had my blood test today. It doesn't even bother me anymore, I just turn my head and let the Phlebotomist do her thing. I came back, had some breakfast, and my mom and sister asked me if I wanted to go to the beach with them. I said no, not only because I don't feel like bathing in sunscreen just to sit on the beach, but because I'm not that much of a beach person. (There are times though where I love the beach though, I have a vacation coming up in July!) So, instead of going to the beach I am going to take it easy and try to keep myself occupied while at home.
But my face...I don't feel like it's really getting better and I'm sick of waiting. I start thinking, "What if I'm one person that this doesn't work for?" I get all negative and I know that's the worst thing to do. Like I've said before, it's so easy to get caught up in the negatives when you're going through this. I took a good look at my face and I have about 6 that are currently marks that are healing, fading away. I have like 16 actives - a combination of whiteheads, pink ones with no head, and this monster on my jawline that I don't even know what to call. It looks like 4 pimples that are in a cluster, all together. It's really gross, even with makeup on, and it's itchy.
I keep hoping that things are going to turn around for me. I honestly don't know what to expect anymore. I have hopes that month three will be a "magic month" for me, but how can I be so sure? Three more months to go on this journey. There has to be a turning point sometime soon.

YAAAYYYY! This is AWESOME news! I am so happy that you get to continue Accutane & that your ear problem isn't permanent! Hopefully we both have clear skin by the fall! 
That's also awesome that you're clearing. I'm not waking up with new zits every day, but new ones have appeared in the past week and I don't even know what the hell this thing on my jawline has turned into. As for lips, I've been using my Clinique Superbalm, Aquaphor and Burt's Bees. Little variety.
